shen Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 He looks devoid of confidence yes but that's why it would have done him good to start tonight. He was very good for us last season so why do you judge him on his limited performances this season? he is one for the future and we should be hanging on to him Because he's already shown that he is quite limited, even last season. I just don't see anything in him that tells me that he's got Premier League potential, and Sven + Top have made it quite clear that that's what we're aiming for
shen Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Add Hobbs to that,I think he can become a good player but at the moment he needs replacing. Yeah, he got a cynical lesson tonight, but I still think he can be decent even at Premier League level.
lcfcadam Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Haha, quality. I couldn't help but laugh, the guy was clearly a tosser but quite a funny tosser...
Jakemoore Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 craig burley - **** plus points - we could've lost 5/6 - hobbs wasn't sent off - sven will realise Waggy is better than Howard and should stay - sven will realise never play matt oakley, lazy **** I don't get why people have such a problem with Oakley, I think he's decent, although I wouldn't start him over Wellens, King or Abe. I think he puts in a good shift and will take one for the team.
Haydos Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 This. I Think Sven has got it a little bit arse-about-tit here. Start Waggy for a few games not just a couple. Surely the best way to guage a player more accurately is through actual game time. If he is playing badly, then bring Howard on. Yeah, we'll chuck Yakubu and Vassell on the bench for a few games while Waggy gets his head in the game. I'm all for that too. Up the city or whatever. disabled.
marbelladave Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Watched the game on TV, coverage was hopelessly biased but then thats moden football reporting, follow the money. First half an hour I thought we were pretty decent, a couple of defensive lapses apart we more than matched Citeh, look at the stats, more corners, more shots and even possession. The 15 minutes after Gallagher went off were awful, without Gallagher's help Berner got skinned for the second and the third was an excellent pass from a good player against a naive and disorganised defence. To be fair Citeh were all over us. Second half I thought was quite interesting, with Wellens off Oakley played deep and Abe moved forward and we were actually the better for it. Citeh may have taken their foot off the gas but it was a spirited performance from a City team missing three of it's best players. Dyer's goal was a bit of a hoot but it really only served to wake up Citeh, does Abe have to share the assist? Although fairly well beaten I thought our display was spirited and some of our play pretty decent, the horrible lapses in defence need to be sorted, and quickly, Berner and Hobbs both looked out of their depth at times tonight. One last thing, Our support was seriously rowdy, damn good show... :appl:
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Because he's already shown that he is quite limited, even last season. I just don't see anything in him that tells me that he's got Premier League potential, and Sven + Top have made it quite clear that that's what we're aiming for I have to disagree, I think he's shown he's a real talent. In time I think he would be a good Premiership player.
Ozwin Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Any pictures of us doing the poznan/grecque? That was amazing, seeingnwht looked like 80% of us doing it was quality.
lcfcadam Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 That was amazing, seeingnwht looked like 80% of us doing it was quality. You serious? Hard to tell how many people are involved when you're in the middle of it!
Callabinho Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 We owned them to day with the singing! I mean we started chanting between ourselfes! Their fans are a joke! Proud to be a fox!
lcfcadam Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 We owned them to day with the singing! I mean we started chanting between ourselfes! Their fans are a joke! Proud to be a fox! Hilarious how a rousing rendition of "Left side, right side" led straight into our 2nd goal, all the haters should think twice in the future!
Haydos Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 You lads that went today were incredible. Genuinely gutted that I couldn't go, would have given anything to be there when it went to 3-2! Great showing x
skyblueinpeace Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 We owned them to day with the singing! I mean we started chanting between ourselfes! Their fans are a joke! Proud to be a fox! errrr ok then clearly didnt sit near city fans then
cc_star Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Add Hobbs to that,I think he can become a good player but at the moment he needs replacing. Jesus frickin Christ what is it with "he needs replacing" "now him over there needs replacing" & repeat ad-infinitum If we keep doing that no one under 35 who hasn't been a Prem star for the past decade will sign for us in future. You can't buy a team you have to build one too, ability will get you a fair way, which Lamey aside nearly everyone in our squad has got. You have to work with people, you have to bring them on & develop them and allow partnerships to form. Replacing everyone every 2mins will achieve nothing. Hobbs, Waggy & the rest of the young players need coaching, they need fans support & they need game time where appropriate. Buying will accomplish nothing without building.
nandojolob Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 I think we did well against a top quality side. Dyer had a really good game and having already missed a couple of one on ones this season, the goal today should boost his confidence. We need a left back and centre half to replace Berner and Hobbs. We don't look like we are able to keep a clean sheet which is a bit of a worry. Shay Given looks like he's coming to us according to the bookies. What a signing he would be !! I've got a feeling that we're going to feed the Yak on Saturday for his first hat trick for the Club !!

Look who they were up against - Tevez and Silva. Shay Given isn't coming to us unless Sven told a lie after the match. Yak won't score a hat-trick.
Kitchandro Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 errrr ok then clearly didnt sit near city fans then Could only hear our lot on the TV. Even when you scored you were poor.
Haydos Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 That doesn't even deserve this reply. Tool What is your actual point? You want Waghorn playing instead of Yakubu and Vassell? I challenge you to find someone on here that wants Waghorn to start the next 3 games. What you originally said is ridiculous.
ajthefox Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Not gonna say too much about the game itself, we played well at times and did threaten, but at the same time we could have last by more. What I will say though is that I had an amazing time and could not be more proud about being a city fan. We well and truly showed their support (27,000 at the game including us) up, and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of. Singing "oh when the blues..." whilst leaving was one of many highlights. Leicester til I fvcking die.

Either Berner or Hobbs will be rested..
