Man City 4 - 2 Leicester - Post Match Thread

Defensive naivety cost us really, played far too high a line and we paid for it.

Bamba was good again (individually) and Dyer MOTM. Yuki also went from the ridiculous (1st half) to the almost sublime (2nd half).

Adam Johnson very condescending in his interview there....twat.

Proud of the effort, shows that we are capable of performing in the Prem.

I think we lost our way when Gally went off, there may be many haters, but he is one who offers himself every time and plays the defence splitting pass... hope hes ok :)

Well it was a game of two halves. We were dire in the first half with the only bright spots being Dyer's pace & a couple of touches from Moussa

Our defence were trying to play offside without having a clue how to, Bamba & Hobbs still look like strangers, Berner was outclassed and Naughton was ball watching.

Howard was pretty dreadful and highlighted just how much we need Waghorn as a squad player

King was useless, an absolute passenger. Between him & Howard it was like we were playing against 10men

everyone was guilty of ball watching, we never got a foot in at all and it allowed

them far too many opportunities.

Now on to the positives.

the second half was much better, we got a grip on the ball and got a bit of possession, created a few chances. This only improved when Waggy came on as he has more mobility to challenge defenders and not allow them to bring the ball out of play.

Then we got hit by the sucker-punch with our whole team up the pitch, but it was better to go down fighting than just to go down.

The 2nd half performance will give them confidence for the league, and lets not forget these are the 2nd best team in the country and they turn many defences inside out.

Well done lads, it was a 2nd half to remember.

I'm being pessimistic and thinking we just blew our last chance of glory this season.

Someone make me happy!

Finally, some credit from Sav and the ESPN guys, Dyer second best player on the pitch behind Tevez.

Well played, back to throwing leads away and playing somewhat poor compared to tonight on Saturday :dunno:

Taking nothing away from tonight, It's actually a backhanded complement but why do we always raise our game and play brilliant against these kind of teams then can't hold our own against Preston when 1-0 up with minutes left, and it's not the 1st time.

The only thing that spoilt tonight coverage? The ESPN commentators and presenters, so bias!

Well done City, How about taking these performances into the league?!

Fantastic performance against a very strong Man City, proud performance. Thought Steve Howard was shit though, and this performance should shows we should keep Waghorn. Thought he changed the game, as he offered pace and movement.

Lloyd Dyer had a great game imo, and should've had another penalty after that Viera incident. When he was through for his goal, I thought he would miss again. Hopefully he can take that into the league.

Naughton was great too. Anyone know why Wellens was taken off- not an injury I hope? But then I'd be surprised at taking him off.

Bamba had another cracking game, but hopefully he can take that into normal league games.

Credit to Weale for saving the penalty- never seen him save a pen so thought it was game over. However, don't want to seem so negative, but thought he should've saved the 1st and 4th. Positioning for the 4th was poor imo- made the strike look better than it was. We all saw that he was going for that corner.

Overall fantastic performance- take that into the league and playoffs are realistic. Playing like that AWAY from home, at one of the best teams in the country, we should be able to beat ANY Championship team. However, I hope it wasn't just a great performance cause it was against a big team- we'll see on Saturday.

We are incredible! I love the lads so much! I am so proud right now - this doesn't feel like a loss! So many positives to take away from this! I'd love to talk to the lads to tell them to have the belief they can beat anyone in the league cause we can! :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Have to be honest and say I wasn't impressed with us tonight, after going 2-1 down. Man City could and should have got 6 or 7.

Weale, Dyer and Bamba aside (Waggy did ok & Naughton so-so), I thought we looked tired and a little scared. Maybe just me?

Adam Johnson is a complete knob i've also realsied. And how lazy is Tevez not learning a word of English in 4 years?

Fair play to the fans, great effort.

Don't want to be the first to put a downer on the night but was I watching a different game? They quite clearly took it easy on us in the second half and still missed a penalty.

We desperately need an organiser at the back and someone more mobile in midfield otherwise we have no chance of a shot at the play offs. They cut through us like a hot knife to butter. I think we need to be realistic and we are no better than a Championship team at the moment.

Great effort, i was not expecting anything and i think we gave a top performance...

4th goal, build up play offside? Tevez stamp on bamba? Toure lunge in the penalty area on dyer? Thoughts on these...

Though what a good effort, defence looked shaky at points but in the midfield and going down the wings we looked threatening.

Well done Leicester - i predicted a 3-2 defeat so not far out but we were not outclassed by a side that dont forget probably cost around 10 times what our entire squad cost to buy. Up the Foxes now come on for that play off push :scarf: :sge: :scarf:

We gave it a go, didn't cave in and pushed them all the way.

The EPSN pundits can go on about Man City could have had a cricket score but we had chances as well, it was an entertaining game and we played our part.

Dyer was excellent, Naughton had a good game and Abe grew in the second half.

19 games to play, hopefully starting with a win on Saturday.

Not forgetting our 'soft' peno, Hobbs getting away with a red card and Lloyds 'offside' goal, of course? :D
