sdb Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I thought Oakley's attitude stank tbh. Jogged about a bit, nothing else.
Wycombe Fox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Mainly the contrast between him and Howard, Waghorn did more in 10 mins of being on than Howard did the whole time he was on. Chased down, held the ball up and won the ball. He wasn't outstanding, but enough to prove he is worthy of at least being on the bench and at last our 3rd best striker. Couldn't have put it better myself.
cambridgefox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Savage is off to America soon, thankfully. Give him the death penalty for crimes against mens hair dooooos! He licks paulos arse much more he would have taken the skin off c**t
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Can someone tell me why Waghorn is getting this bumming? I barely noticed him when he came on. Nobody's bumming him at all. We are simply saying he's good enough to stay. I thought he looked decent when he came on, Howard was useless. I've been a Howard fan since midway through the League 1 season but surely his time is up?
ousefox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Very decent performance against a quality team. Good performances from Abe, Dyer, Bamba and Wellens while he was on. King, Moussa, Howard didn't do a thing. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED BAMBA'S TURN ON TEVEZ TOO
Fosse Boy Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Great effort and two cracking Cup ties, they've done us proud. Took Man City all the way and wore their hearts on their sleeves for 180 minutes. Genuinely gutted I couldn't be there tonight.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Sven has just confirmed, Martyn Waghorn WILL NOT be joining Derby County on loan tomorrow or until he knows about Vassell's injury. ## STRINGERS TWITTER
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Decent performance and we gave them a good game, just short on quality really. Thought Hobbs was poor tonight, ncould have been sent off and clearly didnt know the offside trap judging on tonights performance. Bamba was a bit quiet too, shame he wasnt as dominating in the air as he was in the first game. Abe played better when Oakley was on as he went forward more creating some good chances. King was very quiet. I thugh Weale could have done better with either the first or last goal, but he wasnt really to blame overall. Just lacked that bit of class up front but it was a good performance, and they are quality.
RizLCFC Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 WAGHORN IS STAYING FOR NOW ITS ON STRINGERS TWITTER YIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Howard take the hint and **** off, it's Derby aswell where your heart is and take Oakley with you.
Webbo Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 held the ball up, distributed it well and moved about, therefore giving their centre backs something to do for a change. he wasn't a world-beater, but a distinct improvement on what was there before. Did he have a shot on goal?Did he win a header?Did he make an incisive pass? As for holding the ball up Man City must of had around 60/70 % possession in the 2nd half. I'm sorry I just don't see it.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Waggy or Howard now theres a difficult choice!!! NOT
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Abe was shocking first half but much better second (when he decided to put the effort in). Oakley was just pretty anonymous as usual. It's true we've got no one to bring off the bench in midfield really. Bamba aside the defence wasn't much good tonight. And as a unit they were rubbish. I thought King was quite involved tonight but a couple of really poor touches or failed dummies let us down in the final 3rd.
gazfox9 Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I thought Oakley's attitude stank tbh. Jogged about a bit, nothing else. He shyed out of a few headers too, club captain hey.... I thought the rest of the lads were outstanding though again tonight, proud of them.
Webbo Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Nobody's bumming him at all. We are simply saying he's good enough to stay. I thought he looked decent when he came on, Howard was useless. I don't have a problem with Waghorn, if he stays fair enough. I just don't think he made a worthwhile contribution tonight.
cambridgefox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Can someone tell me why Waghorn is getting this bumming? I barely noticed him when he came on. Bit like large offices, run around, look busy,no one will notice im not really doing anything i should!! This love for Waghorn must stop now!
cambridgefox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Waggy or Howard now theres a difficult choice!!! NOT Get rid of both!
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Did he have a shot on goal?Did he win a header?Did he make an incisive pass? As for holding the ball up Man City must of had around 60/70 % possession in the 2nd half. I'm sorry I just don't see it. No. Yes. he passed it to teammates every time. The point is he looked at least a bit of a handful for their defenders and he always carries a threat that Howard doesn't. He can run at people, get in goalscoring positions, chase it down and do something special with the ball. Howard can do none of those things. Besides he was only on for 25 minutes, with very little service. What did you really expect?
ScouseFox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I don't have a problem with Waghorn, if he stays fair enough. I just don't think he made a worthwhile contribution tonight. I see what you're saying, he was by no means great tonight. But, it appears it's either Waggy or Howard, and he seemed to do more than Howard tonight in about a third of the time.
easilee Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 What I learned from this game: - We shouldn't play this ridiculously high defensive line against quality opposition. - Waghorn should get more playing time - David Silva is so much better than I believed. Most of Man City's creativity comes from him. When he got subbed, you could see the difference. This. I Think Sven has got it a little bit arse-about-tit here. Start Waggy for a few games not just a couple. Surely the best way to guage a player more accurately is through actual game time. If he is playing badly, then bring Howard on.
StanSP Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Very decent performance against a quality team. Good performances from Abe, Dyer, Bamba and Wellens while he was on. King, Moussa, Howard didn't do a thing. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED BAMBA'S TURN ON TEVEZ TOO Could watch it all day. He also took on a couple of players in first half with consummate ease. Looks comfortable on the ball and a real presence. I love Bamba.
Fosse Boy Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Steve Howard, waste of space. Yeah, welcome to the forum...
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I don't have a problem with Waghorn, if he stays fair enough. I just don't think he made a worthwhile contribution tonight. Again, nobody's bumming his performance tonight. Overall though he offers more than Howard, and I don't think he should go out on loan. He didn't change the game but he did a decent amount with little service. The point is Waghorn is 20 and has potential, Howard is in decline. We should be nurturing potential. Can I reiterate, if Waghorn goes out on loan, my opinion is he won't play for us again. And that'd be a great shame IMO.
cambridgefox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 This. I Think Sven has got it a little bit arse-about-tit here. Start Waggy for a few games not just a couple. Surely the best way to guage a player more accurately is through actual game time. If he is playing badly, then bring Howard on. i know i am not the Waggy lover like the majority, but i do agree with this, just needs matches and confidence.
Corky Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I'd like to know what language Wellens and Tevez were arguing in. Anyone know?
