Kenners Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Not disappointed with the result at all. Great performance today and back at the walkers, as much as a cup upset would be nice its going to do wonders for their confidence knowing they can play on par with premier league standard. Personally when Gally was brought off I thought we seemed lacking of something. Goes to show even if he doesnt get stuck in as much as people like he does offer a good option for other players to pass to and always seems to find another player himself. A bit disappointed at King tonight though. When he's scoring goals its easy to forgive/forget his absence in some games but it really shows when he isn't netting. Looking forward to the push up the league now!
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 This. I Think Sven has got it a little bit arse-about-tit here. Start Waggy for a few games not just a couple. Surely the best way to guage a player more accurately is through actual game time. If he is playing badly, then bring Howard on. I thought he brought him on 15 minutes too late tonight. Howard was doing nothing. You can't just judge him on 25 minutes here and there. He should have started tonight, and if not, should have been brought on earlier. Sven obviously doesn't rate him - well someone needs to show him this video:
Callabinho Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Played well today we gave them too much room to play in! But I'm do proud yo be a fox! We played the most expensive team in the cup, but their support is shocking! I had wale of a time outsinging them! "you're just a shit man united"
sdb Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Did he have a shot on goal?Did he win a header?Did he make an incisive pass? As for holding the ball up Man City must of had around 60/70 % possession in the 2nd half. I'm sorry I just don't see it. no probs, difference of opinion. we looked a lot better when he came on i thought, and he was a big reason for it. much more mobile, stretched their centre halves a bit.
Guest ttfn Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/9363877.stm Check out the match stats. City were incredibly cynical.
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I'd like to know what language Wellens and Tevez were arguing in. Anyone know? Wellens said to him '**** off you big poof' no word of a lie
sdb Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 btw what's the word on Wellens and Gally, those who listened to RL after?
Kenners Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 btw what's the word on Wellens and Gally, those who listened to RL after? Both precautions as far as I could tell from Sven.
Babylon Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Played ok, back line was shocking at times. Waghorn was at least mobile when he came on, nothing special though... Neither was Oakley. But one gets a love in and the other slaughtered hmmm. Looking forward to having a full strength team soon, someone will get handed a thrashing.

I think Oakley, Howard, Waggy and Berner showed they're not good enough tonight. King is exempted because he has previously shown what he's able to do.

Don't think ones getting a love in, everyone knows he's below the Yak in the pecking order, but Waghorn is the only player who can cover for Vassell. He came on tonight and harried their defenders which contributed to them having less of an easy time of it. It's obvious to everyone Sven made a mistake starting Howard instead of him.
wakeyfox01 Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Howard, wasn't great but I don't see that Waggy was either. Run around a bit and the fans lap it up. There's no way he should be in the team ahead of Vassell or Yakubu, which is why he will be sent out on loan, I'm pretty sure someone will be coming in when he's gone. I'll never understand the love for him. Yuki played much better when Oakley came on which freed him up to go forward, and that was a lovely one-twp with the ref for Dyer's goal. Bamba looked very impressive once again and Naughton did well defensively. Again we looked weak on the left side of the defence though, Berner was caught out of position a few too many times and let Johnson go when he should have tracked him. Dyer looked much more like he was at the beginning of the season and deserves a few more games in the side to see if he can replicate that.
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I think Oakley, Howard, Waggy and Berner showed they're not good enough tonight. King is exempted because he has previously shown what he's able to do. What and Waggy hasn't? 12 goals last season? I can accept Oakley and Howard are past it, and Berner can't hack it more than 2 games in a row, but saying Waghron hasn't shown he's good enough for the Championship is just rubbish.
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I thought Dyer was hit and miss tonight. Beat his man at times but at others just ran into traffic. He needs to switch to the left from time to time because he will never ever use his right foot. Naughton was the same, defended well at times but was partly at fault for 4th goal and made some mistakes.
THFC6061 Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 That was a good performance from Leicester, I thought. You've got nothing to be ashamed of. It was my first look at Leicester for some time and I was very impressed with the team effort. Good to see our lad Kyle Naughton in action too.
lcfcadam Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Just got back. Performance was alright, would like to see something similar against Millwall in the league but know it probably won't happen. One thing, how the HELL was Hobbs not sent off? From the away end it looked like the easiest decision ever and everyone was just waiting for the card.

I was actually referring to the Premier League. Yes, Waggy had a good last season, but he's not shown anywhere near that form since he came back. He looks devoid of confidence and his limited talent is of little use to us in our current situation
MC Prussian Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Oh, well. Onwards and upwards. Focus on the league and all that. Yes, we were facing one of the best teams in England, if not Europe. And the odds of getting a result at Eastlands were never in our favour. Still, a bit of heart and dedication would've helped. I witnessed an often clueless and lacklustre City performance, Sven's 4-5-1 (or 4-3-3, depends on how you look at it) never really worked out. What was the point of Howard up front on his own? He hardly had a decent touch and no impact on the flow of game whatsoever. What was Oakley doing on the pitch after half-time? Why this love for two players past their best? They might do an alright job in the Championship, but against quality teams like Manchester City, they're useless. Howard didn't get into the game (alongside King, btw) and Oakley, still good at defending, can no longer initiate attacks. I'm still a little bit disappointed that we didn't go for more from the start and that Sven went for a rather coward strategy. We had a couple of chances, way more corners than Manchester, but again - failed to convert them. And that's where the difference in class sets in. A Premier League outfit with some of the most expensive players in the World against a mid-table Championship team. They had the players that have what it takes to score. We didn't. We just don't have the quality at the moment, our team lacks depth tremendously. There's a big gulf between those two leagues, both in terms of footballing ability and £ involved. You can't let a guy like Tevez run towards the opposing goal like that. To be fair, it was a thunder of a shot. I have to say our centre-back pairing as a whole didn't look to confident, Hobbs in particular needs to put this matchday experience under "lesson learnt" and work a LOT more on his positioning and marking. Can't say much negatives about Bamba, probably the most composed/professional player today. Manchester City exploited this particular defensive weakness of ours from the start, kept the ball to the floor (can't recall a single long ball into Weale's box) and worked their way through the middle. Our lads get my respect for not giving up and making it 3-2 with little time left. There were five minutes when everybody hoped for a miracle. But Kolarov... I seriously hope the lads will fight for promotion, now that they're out of the FA Cup. Kudos to the 6'000something Leicester fans who made a LOT of noise and kept the feeble ManCity bunch at bay. Superb - you have my MOTM award!
easilee Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I was actually referring to the Premier League. Yes, Waggy had a good last season, but he's not shown anywhere near that form since he came back. He looks devoid of confidence and his limited talent is of little use to us in our current situation To a certain extent, he must have thought he was coming back to the place he left. Bit of a shock for him after he got back here though. Maybe he's told Sven he wants to leave and as reward he's not in the clubs long-term plans, so Sven doesn't really give a toss about Waggy's game time. Who frikkin' knows?

He looks devoid of confidence and his limited talent is of little use to us in our current situation He looks devoid of confidence yes but that's why it would have done him good to start tonight. He was very good for us last season so why do you judge him on his limited performances this season? he is one for the future and we should be hanging on to him
Ozwin Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 How'd the fans sound on telly, give a good account of ourselves?
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 How'd the fans sound on telly, give a good account of ourselves? We couldn't hear the home fans, heard you pretty much all game
scott_gunnell Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 The best thing for me was watching Leicester go at Man city without any fear. Okay, on the counter attack Man City looked on fire at times, but I am pleased Sven went for it. The fans got a couple of goals and despite the rubbish talked by the pundits at half time, this wasnt a walk over. The first 10 mins Man city couldnt live with us. Bring on Millwall
StanSP Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 How'd the fans sound on telly, give a good account of ourselves? Excellent! Best part was 'BAMBA GIVE US A WAVE' Next shot? Yaya on the ground, with Bamba smiling and giving the faithful a wave . Quality.
hackneyfox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I think Oakley, Howard, Waggy and Berner showed they're not good enough tonight. King is exempted because he has previously shown what he's able to do. Add Hobbs to that,I think he can become a good player but at the moment he needs replacing.
