darko2k7 Posted 4 May 2011 Posted 4 May 2011 i thought they signed the player in 2009? so really the issue lies from back then and this season shouldnt be punished for it.. i thought i read they tried to sort the paperwork out legally before this season even started ?? Yes so lets say we punish them for last season then , like the chap on SSN said they struggled to stay up that year so if they are given the correct punishment which IS a point deduction then they would of gone down. Which in turn effects not only this season but the team that went down that wouldn't have if they were punished that season . The punishment should be the same for everyone regardless of how much money they have or wot place in the league they are , none of that should even be considered in the process of making the ruling. When i heard the could even do a swindon and relegate them i laughed but that would be harsh but i don't know all the facts , but if the rule book warrants that punishment then it should be done by the book unlike how QPR have done it .
Father Ted Posted 4 May 2011 Posted 4 May 2011 Remember warnock saying we should have been kicked out of the league? Send them to league 1
Alexikokopops Posted 4 May 2011 Posted 4 May 2011 West Ham committed the same defence as far as I know, their penalty was to pay SheffUtd £25m compensation... I'd be surprised if QPR got points deduction (surely they'd appeal using WH as an example), perhaps they'll have to pay Cardiff £25m Ok, I'm a bit late and its probably been mentioned, but didn't the rule come in as a result of that incident? So they didn't break FA rules, but Sheffield United took them to the courts and all that? I could be completely wrong, mind.
ajthefox Posted 4 May 2011 Posted 4 May 2011 Can't wait to hear Warnock start moaning about how he's always getting fooked over. If they get shafted and docked the points, no-one will ever hear the end of it.
ScouseFox Posted 4 May 2011 Posted 4 May 2011 I've decided it'd be bloody hilarious if they were docked points and didn't go up. Unfair? Yes. But absolutely bloody hilarious.
The Doctor Posted 4 May 2011 Posted 4 May 2011 Ok, I'm a bit late and its probably been mentioned, but didn't the rule come in as a result of that incident? So they didn't break FA rules, but Sheffield United took them to the courts and all that? I could be completely wrong, mind. I'm almost certain you're right. Colin called for points deductions to be introduced for this sort of thing after the WH-SU affair - FA should give a points deduction and if he complains just point out to him he was the first (nay - only, the other relegated sides went down with dignity) to be calling for it before.
davieG Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 From the FL site No more than enough points to drop them to 2nd then - probably The npower Championship play-offs will go ahead as planned, regardless of the outcome of the Football Association hearing into QPR's Alejandro Faurlin.Rangers have been charged with seven breaches of FA rules regarding the transfer of the Argentinian midfielder, with the verdict from the three-day hearing at Wembley expected on Friday. If Rangers are found guilty they could be deducted points, denying them automatic promotion and dropping them in the play-offs. There were fears a subsequent appeal from the club would throw the play-off matches into chaos, but Press Association Sport understands the schedule will not be changed. As things stand Rangers, who are five points clear at the top, will be presented with the npower Championship trophy after Saturday's clash with Leeds at Loftus Road. But the Football League may have to put a contingency plan in place to take the trophy to second-placed Norwich, who would go up as champions if QPR are docked enough points. It would then be presented at Carrow Road following the Canaries' home game against Coventry. Cardiff and Swansea, one of whom will finish third, will also be closely watching developments. However, Rangers boss Neil Warnock continues to shrug off fears they will be stripped of automatic promotion, insisting: "I want the fans to enjoy the party on Saturday." Faurlin himself arrived at Wembley on Thursday morning to give evidence to the independent regulatory commission on what is supposed to the the final day of the hearing.
StanSP Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Breaking news on Twitter now - FA decision on this has been delayed and won't be made tomorrow.
Ashley Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Just seen the same news as stan on SSN, QPR will be Champions of the Championship with NO points deducted this season. QPR will be deducted points next instead. That's what I think will happen anyway, or they will just get fined and no points deduction.
Simmo86 Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 If they dont get a points deduction at all then its a......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QZxDjYzqoo&feature=related
Wymsey Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 I do doubt now they'll have any points deduction for this considering West Ham were left off with just a hefty fine despite involving two players, to only one of QPR's involved in this case.
Simmo86 Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 I do doubt now they'll have any points deduction for this considering West Ham were left off with just a hefty fine despite involving two players, to only one of QPR's involved in this case. The rules didn't exist when West Ham did it, they were brought in afterwards and West Ham pleaded gulity to any wrongdoing. QPR have tried to cover it up and pleaded not guilty!
davieG Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Seems like they're waiting until Saturday's games have been completed so the can decide on the balance between points and fine so as not to create problems for the play-offs etc. or they'll be deducted points next season which in itself is a bit of a cop out.

Jiggers the Fox Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 According to the Beeb, the Football League cannot confirm whether Championship trophy will be at Loftus Road on Saturday
Corky Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 What a ridiculous situation, where only the second-placed team know they are promoted.
Guest ttfn Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 No points deduction according to the BBC. What a ****ing cop out.
Samilktray Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Deserved champions. Looking forward to seeing them in the Prem
The Doctor Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 No points deduction according to the BBC. What a ****ing cop out. FA in complete incompetence shocker. If that's true then it's an absolute ****ing disgrace, clear the FA couldn't give two shits about the game anymore.
gazfox9 Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Just been confirmed on ssn, NO POINTS DEDUCTION. despite being guilty of breaking two rules. So whats the point in the laws then??? total cop out by the FA, bloody joke.
Super_horns Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Just been confirmed on ssn, NO POINTS DEDUCTION. despite being guilty of breaking two rules. So whats the point in the laws then??? total cop out by the FA, bloody joke. FA probably just couldn't be bothered with all the hassle and appeals from messing up the play-offs etc docking points from QPR would have lead to Had it been one of us guys in mid-table we'd get points deducted.
purpleronnie Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Surely no-ones surprised, they would never knock enough points so they wouldnt still be promoted, the fact they were allowing the playoff games to go ahead shows they knew QPR wouldn't have dropped into them. Took them long enough, maybe they didn't have enough free lunches. Crackin ground though, top away day (well used to be).
One Arm Babba Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 fairly obvious decision. Shows the FA's incompetence. It should never have took so long to make a decision. If they had have been docked points, appeals would have gone on and on. The simple decision was were they guilty or not. this happened back in 2009, how come it took so long?
Dickie Greenleaf Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Even more confident there'll will be no (or just a minimal) points deduction. FA's case is based around a supposedly unaccounted for 2.9 mill, but it aint dodgy, its just that QPR were boasting that he cost £3.5 on their website, when he was miles cheaper. The whole thing could have been avoided, so it will be a face saving deduction at best that will still see them Champions if the get a draw against Leeds
Guest Bilo Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Pathetic, spineless decision from the FA. Had it been a mid-table Championship club or lower without a whiny bitch as manager they'd have had the book thrown at them. Hopefully they'll be straight back down anyway, silly little club.
