Lambert09 Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 In a recent interview with the official site he claimed to be a fan. "It's up to each individual, but personally, as a fan and a player of Leicester City, I hope we can keep as many of them as possible." I have never heard this ? Is he just saying this because he plays for us or is it a welll known thing ? Bit of a pointless thread, Im just curious. Out of all the players Sven has bought in I must say he is possibly the one ive been most impressed with, I thought when we first got him we had another over paid has been on our hands but he seems to be right at his level here and doesnt think he is bigger then the club....top man, lets hope sven doesnt scare him off by killing goats :crylaugh:
Petchy Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 Where's this interview? Can't find it on foxesplayer...
leicester4life Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 A staunch Villa fan, he was delighted to be taken on by the club's School of Excellence but at the age of 13 came a career threatening injury when his left shin snapped during a youth tournament in Sunderland. link
Callabinho Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 he is a villa fan, But a really nice chap too! talks well too! i like Vaz!
Libertine Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 A fan for whoever he plays for, naturally. I like Big Daddy V myself. Puts himself about a lot. Plays relatively out of position a lot of the time and I guess he's not always as effective as you'd hope as a winger, but I think he's a great use to the squad.

I heard this interview, was after the match last week. It was obvious what he meant.
Dan Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 He's not a right winger, doesn't offer a great deal there but often impressed me when used up front, definitely think there's a place for him next season, think he gets it harsh at times from our fans.
Guest Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 MOTM. Man of the MATCH. He might be a BBC spy just doing some subtle promotion of MOTD
Jakemoore Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 I think he's better through the middle but I think he's been good regardless.
themotivator Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 vassell has been living in leicester for a while, since before pearson left. my girlfriend and her housemates saw him training on victoria park quite a few times last year. maybe he has developed a soft spot for the city after leaving turkey

Corky Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 He's shown glimpses of why he's played at the top level, would prefer to see him up front.
brockmyster Posted 30 April 2011 Posted 30 April 2011 Agree with others about him up front as he looks deadly, but what annoys me about him is he seems afraid to shoot and he doesnt make the right runs especially off the ball.
ithuriel Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 I like him, on a good day he harries the defence and can score goals, on a bad day he never stops trying and still harries the defence. Played down the middle with the right service he can be deadly but for some time has been played as a winger but still just get's on with it.
PegguyArphexad Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 hopefully play 4-4-2 next season with Vassell up top through the middle.
bigneville Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Clearly got ability, and a work-rate. Certainly want him to be here next year, as he gives us options. Just wondered why he has to do a stepover after his first touch every time he gets the ball?
KingDarius Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Seems to be enjoying it here which is good, personally think hes quality and rekon he"ll do a job next season
cc_star Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 would be good in a 4-4-2, we're not getting the best out of him in our system - he works hard but very little seems to come off as more often than not our attacks peter out if they go through him as he beats the first man with style but comes unstuck with the 2nd or 3rd, more of a problem with the system than Vaz, but it does make his return look appalling
Fox92 Posted 3 May 2011 Posted 3 May 2011 Darius Vassell is one of my favourite players. I think he is consistant and I can't remember him having a bad game/below average game since joining the club. Its good that he seems to be enjoying it here as well, thats always good. He is a top player, and very dangerous on his day.
Adster Posted 3 May 2011 Posted 3 May 2011 Vassell looks like one of the only players sometimes that looks like he can be bothered, even at Doncaster on Saturday, were most of the team didn't look interested, Vassell did and still tried his absolute hardest, and would probably get MOTM from me. Anyone know what length contract he had? Was it a one year or two?
