stix Posted 10 June 2011 Posted 10 June 2011 If you're earning £25k a week, you're still going to be earning around £1.5m a year, compare that to your average worker who would be losing £10k a year and then only earn £25k, it's a huge difference. f.uck me, i admire your patience/vigilance in mustering up the energy to reply to this. and good luck in the maths test DB!
80footgiraffe Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 Everton have already accepted they will lose Yakubu for less than the £6m West Ham bid for him last year, but the striker’s reluctance to drop down to the Championship continues to make a move to Leicester City, where he scored 11 goals on loan last season, unlikely. The Echo.

I don't actually think anyone knows anything about it and they are all just guessing. Hit the nail on the head I think. Something's obviously happened, we've bid, maybe even spoke to him, but nobody actually knows where the deal is at right now. I've heard about 3 or for reasons why he's not signed yet, money, not wanting to drop down, going to Turkey. For all we know everything could be agreed and the Yak could be off sunning himself somewhere, so we're waiting for him to come back and scrawl his name on a contract.
sdb Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 i'd imagine he's waiting for a prem club to come in for him, or someone to pay him the £35k he wants. it'll be a waiting game i'd guess.

Bert Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 He's openly said he would be happy to play in the championship. I'd still say it's rather likely he's going to be joining us.

sdb Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 That 4th official tweet is just taken from the Nigerian paper article we had on here earlier/yesterday.
filou Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 He looks old, and if he gets a long contract he just won't try, then we are stuck with him, if he was that good Everton would keep him, or other teams would be falling over there selves to sign him up, nobody is, surely that should send out a warning, it does to me, it says stay well away not worth it.

He's 28. Or Everton can't afford his wages and want to offload too bring in Long. Does the 11 goals in 20 games say stay well away as well?

He's had a falling out with Moyes, as has Yobo, because they weren't playing regular football there.

Everton are a top half Premiership team. Are you suggesting we don't try and sign anyone unless they're wanted by a top 10 premiership club?
john doe Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 He's officially 28, I don't think too many people take that seriously. had a bone scan before he signed for boro as did martins at newcastle dont think we have another roger milla
DanTheFox07 Posted 11 June 2011 Posted 11 June 2011 Yakubu would be a great signing, can only get better under sven`s guidance!
