Reread the post you're replying to and then read the post's he's replying to and you'll realise how stupid what you said sounds.

I've reread it and no, it doesn't sound stupid. Stop trying to be clever.

Not a fan of this Merc bloke being underwhelmed about the two players. But if one is Yakubu, I'm struggling to see how that can be anything other than positive.

Actually it does, Yakubu was playing for Everton who are a PL side, if he ran around at the rate that Hume and still scored and created goals did he would be playing for one of the top 6 sides.

So are you saying Wellens is lazy? And on what basis? Bcause he's had a few bad performances or because he looks like he's being lazy?

I was attempting to show that you don't rate Yakubu because 11 goals and 6 assists in 20 isn't enough, but Wellens plays a 'few' good games last season and you slate someone who questions him.

I'd have Yakubu before Wellens any day.

How has Wellens even got dragged into this?! lol

I don't know if you are a Wellens fan, I am not, but Wellens only performed against the poorer teams, particularly if we already had a two goal lead, then he would really shine.

If you do think Wellens has the sun shining from his bum, I must accuse you of inconsistency. However if you recognise that Wellens is poor against strong and powerful oppositions, you may have a valid observation on Yukubu.

It's Yakubu, and I'm pretty sure the other is Kamara.

I really hope it is too but i dont understand how the Mercury guy would deem one of the above a dissapointing signings? God i hope it isnt Nile 'Gunslinger' Ranger

I was never to impressed with Kamara.

Maybe he's just toying with you? It's seems to have worked if he is, everyone is going mental.

I wasnt majorly impressed either but he showed glimpses of brilliance and has good awareness/vision and also technically looked good on occasions. I think a full season of Kamara-Yakubu-Vassell with Waggy Schulpp and A.N.Other breaking through could potentially be devastating. Obviously a Keeper and 2/3 defenders also needed so Sven best get crackin'

If he is/was then he would be doing himself a great disservice to himself professionally and the publication he works for.

All these tweeters should learn not to call 'wolf' or anything resembling total speculation as it only feeds the beast.

I wish every poster was like JME. The man talks so much sense.

The only reason I can see people being underwhelmed is because we've already had the chance to see the players rather than them being new and exciting.

Personally think the 2 forwards are Yak and Kamara.

If you look at our results against promotion rivals over the past two seasons, you could easily argue that the likes of Wellens and King are the real flat-track bullies. Lost away at Newcastle, WBA, Forest and Cardiff last year (and Swansea who finished 7th). Blackpool was the only place we got any points from the rest of the top 6 last season. This season we lost at QPR, Norwich, Swansea, Cardiff, Forest and Reading. So out of 36 possible points in the last two seasons, we have managed 3. What I'm clumsily saying is that our failure at Cardiff and Reading etc this season is nothing new - the mentality of the players going to these places hasn't been consistent with the rest of their form for a while now. Even in League One we lost at Peterborough and scraped a smash and grab draw at MK Dons.

Yak is one of those strikers who usually needs the team to be playing well in order to make the most of him - he doesn't dig you out of holes single-handedly like some strikers can, but he is probably the one bloke you want up front in this division if your midfield is on form. I also think the same goes for Kamara, from what I saw last season. If the game is going against the team, they both look like players who will settle for an off-day rather than do something about it.

All depends on whether you think the rest of our team will be strong enough to accommodate players like that and make the most of them.

If that all sounds rather negative, then probably the one positive thing I'd say about Yak and Kamara is that they could be brilliant players to lead by example with a full pre-season behind them.

I suppose we're all just imagining more of the same next season until the defence gets sorted. Two or three top quality defensive signings and suddenly the idea of Yak and Kamara up front - 40 goals between them next season? = Promotion.

I forgot how difficult it is not to state the obvious on here.

Could the reason the merc guy thinks there dissapointing be because they were at the club last season ? and that it just isnt Heskey ? I think soooo

It does sound stupid. You said that if we were signing a player with energy of Hume and they scoring ability of Yakubu we'd be on to a winner. lcfc_jme said that if a player had the energy of Hume and the scoring ability of Yakubu he would be playing for a top 6 Premier League team. eg Carlos Tevez. And you responded by asking if he really thought Yakubu was top 6 class. lcfc_jme never said he was top 6 class, he said if you created a hybrid of Hume and Yakubu as you suggested, he would be pretty much the complete striker and we wouldn't have a hope in hell in getting him. He never said he was beyond criticism, just merely that the player you dream of is a player we'd never get.

I wasn't trying to be clever, just pointing out that clever is something you are not.

In a subsequent tweet the guy from the Merc confirms that one of them is Yak, if you need any further confirmation. Think it's just a personal opinion rather than the idea that the fans would be disappointed with Yak arriving.

What's all the bickering on here for!! Can't we all be excited and happy that we are most likely signing to great strikers, to get us out off this league!!! (yak and kamara) me thinks

It's just point scoring, and it's arguments we've seen on here a billion times before too.
