accessory Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 This is what Tanner says on Twitter.. everton source says nothing has happened on Yak for a bit but not ruling it out
MikeyT Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Just too many rumours floating about now. What will be, will be,
lcfc matt Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Was hoping the yak would sign but don't no what to believe anymore
Simmo86 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 I told all my mates we're signing him so this better happen!!
Stevosevic Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Why does Tanner have a different story to Stringer?!? IanStringerBBC Ian Stringer Re Yakubu to #lcfc - national newspapers hint done deal, not yet. #lcfc side seems sorted, just #efc to agree to the deal. Maybe next week
Liamlcfc1 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 I told all my mates we're signing him so this better happen!! I told all mine Marlon King was going Cov
Liamlcfc1 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Hnutt26 Harry Nutt @first4LCFC Nugent defiantly! + kamara I think. Yakubu will be completed within the next week according to stringer
accessory Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Neither Tanner nor Stringer seem very sure. Their tweets suggest a deal MAY happen next week, not that it WILL. In the meantime, we await tomorrow's Mercury with interest (for once! )
Wymsey Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Why does Tanner have a different story to Stringer?!? Tanner's employed by the Mercury whilst Stringer works for Radio Leicester. ( ) Two different types of media.
Stevosevic Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Tanner's employed by the Mercury whilst Stringer works for Radio Leicester. ( ) Two different types of media. I know, but am I wrong to assume they probably talk to the same sources at the club? They are the mouthpiece of the club yet they have conflicting information.
Brainy Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 swear most of these people being quoted on twitter know nothing anyway, or just take it off places like here or stringer (as one tweet above proves)
Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 This is what Tanner says on Twitter.. He's a boring bastard. And pretty clueless, as he and his shite newspaper hyped Sousa to be the next Mourinho. Never believe the merc writers, stick with Stringer.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Everton-transfer-news-Charles-N-Zogbia-of-Wigan-9m-target-trying-sell-Joseph-Yobo-Yakubu-to-raise-funds-article745987.html Everton enter the race for N'ZogbiaPublished 23:01 09/06/11 By Alan Nixon - EXCLUSIVE Everton boss David Moyes is ready to rock Wigan with a £9million offer for Charles N’Zogbia. Moyes wants to sell some of his unwanted men in a hurry so he can join the bidding for the French flier, who is entering the final year of his contract. Latics claim they will only sell N’Zogbia to a Champions League side, but Moyes hopes to convince them to let him move to Goodison. N’Zogbia was electrifying in Wigan’s successful survival fight last season and his versatility appeals to Moyes, who is actively trying to sell defender Joseph Yobo and striker Yakubu to top up his fighting fund. The Scot will not get N’Zogbia for any less than £9m and although he could try to throw a player into the deal, that seems unlikely. N’Zogbia is also a target for his former club Newcastle, as well as Sunderland, but Everton could be an attractive proposition for the 25-year-old as he would not have to move house and could be part of their push to get back into the top six. Everton are in talks with Turkish side Fenerbahce to sell Yobo, following a loan spell there, while his fellow Nigerian Yakubu is being offered around at £2.5m by the club’s agents. If Moyes can offload the pair on top of the cash already brought in by James Vaughan’s move to Norwich, Everton will be able to afford N’Zogbia without further sales Read more: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Everton-transfer-news-Charles-N-Zogbia-of-Wigan-9m-target-trying-sell-Joseph-Yobo-Yakubu-to-raise-funds-article745987.html#ixzz1Op4VqHWN Sign up for MirrorFootball's Morning Spy newsletter Register here wish they would make their minds up the Mirror
accessory Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Sounds like Everton want rid, but it's not certain that if Yakubu is sold, that he'll end up here. Another side (West Ham perhaps?) may offer his agent and/ or Everton a better deal
topharry123 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/sports/23343-yakubu-ready-for-leicester-switch Looks promising, have to question the reliability tho!
FoxTrott Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Hey, its a Nigerian website. When has trusting a Nigerian internet source ever done anyone any harm? What worries me further - click home or on the logo. Dead link. And I thought the Leicester Mercury site was a shoddy job...
CKB Posted 10 June 2011 Posted 10 June 2011 Going a little off topic but am i only the one who would also take Nugent?
CKB Posted 10 June 2011 Posted 10 June 2011 Going a little off topic but am i only the one who would also take Nugent? Looks like quite a few would take him actually from reading the Heskey thread
RumbleFox Posted 10 June 2011 Posted 10 June 2011 Apparently we are after Yakubu! I thought there was a thread on this already but after reading it it appears that it must be a different Yakubu because some fellow posters are not jumping around their living rooms at the thought of this. In fact, some people were actually moaning! If I were a more spiteful chap I would assume that they WERE actually talking about the same Yakubu and the only explanation for them moaning would be that they were a little simple. So I have started a proper thread here for people that actually understand that this is the Yakubu that has a strike rate similar to that of Henry. The Yakubu that scores for fun! The Yakubu that just makes you smile from hearing the name. In the last few years we have had Hume, Connolly, Akinbiyi. Deane, Kermorgant, Crncrc, etc. For God's sake Yakubu is the best striker we have had at the club since Heskey and Collymore. I would argue that he is probably better than both of them (he has a better scoring record in the top division anyway). So for those of you that have gotten confused and have been slagging off the possible signing in the other Yakubu thread I just wanted to point out which Yakubu it was so that you could stop moaning, start dancing and stop embarrassing yourselves by slating a player who is clearly class. And do not, I REPEAT DO NOT, even start saying that all he does is score or that he never tracks back or he does not run enough because they are silly arguments and, more importantly, not even true. Firstly, even if all he did was score then I would have him in the team! We don't moan at defenders who just defend or goalkeepers that don't go on mazey runs. We don't expect our midfielders to pull of a string of fine saves so why so hard on the Yak? I am happy to have a striker that just scores (and scores at a higher rate then anyone we have had at the club for years). The thing is though, he does not just score, he also CREATES! Correct me if am wrong but he directly created six goals whilst at the Club? So that's 20 games, 11 goals and six assists. That means that in his twenty games he scored more than anyone else and also created more than anyone else! To moan about him is to make yourself known as a moron. There is no way you can not be impressed by his record. Sorry, rant over for now. Come on Yak, become a Fox!!! Rumble. X
