Greg2607 Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Well at least the percentage on here that don't like him will be happy to see him sign for one of our biggest promotion rivals....I mean, he will weaken their attack right? make them rubbish in defence and possibly only score enough goals to see them promoted! what's the problem????
Sly Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Work within the budgets co trained. Yes Yak can finish but no point wasting all the money on one player!!
Donut Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Work within the budgets co trained. Yes Yak can finish but no point wasting all the money on one player!! He CAN finish therefore it is NOT a WASTE
Narborough_fox Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 The new Cheif executive has already said they want to balance the books and 3 million pound on one player isnt going to help balance the books at all, football clubs are bussinesses and we don't want to get into the trouble of 2003.

Fair enough, so can we scotch the endless budget and big name transfer talk that i kept saying seemed blatantly unfounded? humble pie?

Balance the books with £90m we'll get from promotion!
Donut Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Told you guys. ambitionless owners. Balance the books on championship football pull the other one. Lets become the new Watford then
The Padster Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 The new Cheif executive has already said they want to balance the books and 3 million pound on one player isnt going to help balance the books at all By that notion we shouldn't buy any players at all then. Some have blown this "balancing the books" thing slightly out of the water, there is plenty more to cut back on around the stadium and training ground before the player budget needs to be tampered with. Especially with Top & Co wanting to see us promoted sharpish.
smudger63 Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 If yakubu comes, then fantastic, but if he don`t, then we move on to our next target. Thats football, it doesn`t mean that we will have no chance of being promoted next year, because we missed out on the Yak. I`m sure by the start of the season, sven will have assembled a squad that will be competitive towards the top end of the table. Then we jump on the rollercoaster, hold tight, and hopefully enjoy the ride.
Walshy5 Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 I cant understand how west ham can afford his wages when you look at some of the players they currently have on there books.
Bert Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 I cant understand how west ham can afford his wages when you look at some of the players they currently have on there books. Because most of them will be leaving.... Anyway, I'm still pretty certain he'll be here next season.
Walshy5 Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Because most of them will be leaving.... Anyway, I'm still pretty certain he'll be here next season. Thankyou bert ill sleep better tonight now
ajthefox Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 And i thought the notion of the 'bottomless pit' was that if we needed to go slightly over budget to attract quality then the board would be happy to do so. Instead, how about we watch one of our closest promotion rivals walk away with what would be one of the leagues most prized assets. Fantastic plan You, along with many others have taken what they said and taken it all wrong. They said there wasn't a transfer budget, that doesn't mean they have endless amounts of money to throw around. It means funds are flexible and are dependent on the players themselves. After all, theres no reason to worry is there, none of the other clubs are conducting transfer dealings are they? Oh wait, no actually they are, by negotiating deals to sign lethal goalscorers. So much for getting business done early Someone earlier posted transfer activity in the Championship. There were something like 5 or 6 signings throughout the whole league, and at most 1 or 2 were decent players who we could've looked at. Fair enough, so can we scotch the endless budget and big name transfer talk that i kept saying seemed blatantly unfounded? humble pie? 'Endless budget' is rubbish, see above. We haven't made a signing yet, but that doesn't mean we wont. The transfer window has barely even been open a few weeks and you're already suggesting we should eat humble pie? How about no, how about we wait until the season starts? Told you guys. ambitionless owners. Balance the books on championship football pull the other one. Lets become the new Watford then Oh yeah, because they've shown no ambition at all so far? So getting us Sven, spending over £10million on the club in less than a season, trying to sign the likes of Beckham, Given and other premiership players, expanding our name in Asia, oh and their long term plans such as trying to make the club self sufficient (over a long period in time) have shown no ambition? Give me a break. Maybe we could have been a little quicker out of the blocks and if we do lose out on Yakubu it will be rather annoying, but your cynicism of how we're going about our business is unfair. It is still early and yet you're already proclaiming the Thais and Sven are full of shite and that everything is a massive farce. So please, do me a favour and calm the fvck down and stop being so arrogant and self-righteous, you've told no-one anything yet.
Dan Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Told you guys. ambitionless owners. Balance the books on championship football pull the other one. Lets become the new Watford then Just at the fact you can even say the owners are ambitionless One of two things, on the wind up, or you've been asleep for the past year. Good day to you.
lcfc matt Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 I've just found an article that says Leicester and yak have agreed terms it's everton that are the problem as the want add on before the switch can be completed don't have a source as I don't know how to do a link on my phone sorry guys
topharry123 Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 ambitionless owners? You only have to look at the players we've been linked with to see that is completely wrong. We've been linked with players that are beyond our wildest dreams, and although we haven't signed any yet, most players are still on holidays and most clubs haven't signed anyone. Come back in 6 weeks and maybe your statement will be slightly more factual then if we've signed no-one.
lcfc matt Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 The article is on nsno.co.uk it's an official everton website
RyanB89 Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 http://www.nsno.co.uk/everton-news/2011/06/west-ham-join-yak-race/ Nigerian striker Yakubu could be caught in a tug of war between West Ham and Leicester City, but insists he will be coming back to Everton first. Yakubu was booed every time he touched the ball for his country in yesterday’s testimonial game which featured Kanu and Jay Jay Okotcha, and has agreed terms with Leicester City already. However, Everton want more additional terms added to the transfer deal before allowing the switch, and this morning West Ham have said they want to take Yak to Upton Park. “I still have a subsisting contract with Everton, I have to go back,” said Yakubu after yesterday’s Nigerian performance."
MrSpaM Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Yakubu was booed every time he touched the ball for his country in yesterday’s testimonial game which featured Kanu and Jay Jay Okotcha. Anybody know why this was happening?
RyanB89 Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 because he missed the net from 3 yards in the world cup and now nigeria fans hate him
Bert Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Anybody know why this was happening? Also because he's lazy, apparently.
Happy Fox Posted 13 June 2011 Author Posted 13 June 2011 http://twitter.com/#!/Fourth_Official Since millions of questions Leicester still want Yakubu but he has to lower his wage demands #LCFC
Callabinho Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Tony Fernandes has reared his head again, could be a welcomed distraction....
