reynard Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Personally I think we should issue an ultimatum to him via his agent. Either he wants to come here or he doesn't and we give him 24 hours to make the decision or we pull out. I've nothing against players wanting the best for themseleves but once a club is starting to be stringed along by a player and his agent then it is time to consider moving on. We need this sorted one way or another asap so we can get on planning our squad for next season. If we need to look elsehwere so be it but at least allow ourselves a good amount of time to sort someone else out and not make a panic buy at the last moment.

I'm pretty sure we'll have many irons in fires already in case it doesn't come off.
Greg2607 Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Personal terms were always the sticking point. In fairness, it seems that a deal had been agreed to purchase from the previous loan deal. I cant imagine that would have been in place without the structure of the deal already agreed. I would agree with most of the posters that it would be disappointing to lose him. but as they say, nobody is bigger than the club. Sven will have to identify another target for everyone to slag off if we miss out on this.

I don't think it's an issue with Yakubu, more likely his agent and/or Everton delaying the deal for monetary reasons.
crisp packet Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 I don't think it's an issue with Yakubu, more likely his agent and/or Everton delaying the deal for monetary reasons. everton proberbly using yakubu as a make weight in deals they have been link with nzogbia (wigan) & ba (west ham) both supposedly after the yak ...
shiv Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 He can **** off as far as I'm concerned. Nobody is bigger than the club, and if it's the money issue which is likely then I'd rather look somewhere else. Greedy tw*t.
One Arm Babba Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 If he doesnnt want to come here then I'd rather we spent £3 Million on a player that does. I'd like to see him here next season but there will be other options. Nicky Maynard???

Happy Fox Posted 14 June 2011 Author Posted 14 June 2011 http://twitter.com/#!/FourFourTom Out-of-contract Jason Roberts is attracting Championship interest. #ITFC to replace Wickham or #LCFC if the Yakubu deal falls through.

paddy Agyemang Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 fuk the yak now he said he doesn't want to drop down a league permenantly, well we would be in this league if you would of scored more

shailen Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 fuk the yak now he said he doesn't want to drop down a league permenantly, well we would be in this league if you would of scored more He scored 11 goals in 20 games....its not goals that were the problem, it was the amount we conceded!
paddy Agyemang Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 he missed an open goal and fluffed decent chances, so he could of scored more there's always room for improvement!!!
StanSP Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 he missed an open goal and fluffed decent chances, so he could of scored more there's always room for improvement!!! Missed an open goal around this time last summer. He's done more than any striker we've had since last summer. 'Could HAVE scored more more there's always room for improvement' - there's room for improvement for every player in the world. Are you expecting a perfect player to arrive at our club, bear in mind we're still in the Championship? Face it - Yakubu is our best option regarding strikers.
shailen Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 he missed an open goal and fluffed decent chances, so he could of scored more there's always room for improvement!!! Okay he missed some good chances, but thats why scoring goals is the hardest thing to do. And if he played a full season for us by his ratio, he would score around 22/23 goals for us in a full season, and with room for improvement he could score 30 goals in a season. And your saying no to that.
ithuriel Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Looks like he and his agent are trying to milk us for all this supposed money we have and are probably doing the same with other interested clubs, WestHam will not want to get stung on wages again and after that Alan Sugar football finances program where Sugar spoke to the Wigan chairman, i doubt they will too.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 would welcome Nicky Maynard would put more effort into playing for us if its just about money for the Yak then he is nor right for our club
Libertine Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 would welcome Nicky Maynard would put more effort into playing for us if its just about money for the Yak then he is nor right for our club Would love him. Would probably take a larger fee though.

Callabinho Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 I've heard it's agent who is being a twat, but you never know. Football is becoming too powerful, I don't think the transfer Market will be the same thanks to The Andy Carroll fiasco!
RyanB89 Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 fuk the yak now he said he doesn't want to drop down a league permenantly, well we would be in this league if you would of scored more When did he say this? wheres the source?
