This will test our owners true ambition, and whether they,ll put their money where their mouth is! If we lose out ill start to question it.

Hopefully our owners have the strategy to prise him towards us, shouldn't be too hard considering the WHU board is made up of loudmouth cockeys.
MPH Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Hopefully our owners have the strategy to prise him towards us, shouldn't be too hard considering the WHU board is made up of loudmouth cockeys. He liked it here. We gave Him a chance. Let's hope he is the loyal kind...
jonthefox Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Dont know if this links been posted yet. http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/sports/23343-yakubu-ready-for-leicester-switch
MC Prussian Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Dont know if this links been posted yet. http://www.tribune.c...eicester-switch £3.5 million? Where do they get their numbers from?? Or is that £2m plus add-ons? Although he's still valued at 12 million Euro (according to transfermarkt.de).
RyanB89 Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Might be the extra terms that everton wanted adding, still a fair deal EDIT: actually thats from 3 days ago and is probaly just wrong.
KingDarius Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Be pissed right off if we miss out on yakubu and ive got a feeling were going to! Hope im proved wrong
lcfc matt Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 3,5 million is still cheap for someone who scores loads of goals just get the guy in for gods sake
DB11 Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 He liked it here. We gave Him a chance. Let's hope he is the loyal kind... Curtis Davies?
RyanB89 Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Curtis Davies? Im sure if yakubu gets a offer from the premier league hell take it
Jimothy Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Im sure if yakubu gets a offer from the premier league hell take it Not sure he'll get one though. Which team really needs a striker? Swansea and Norwich have already splashed £3m+ on new ones, can't see em doing it again. Newcastle need one, but are about to sign Demba Ba. Sunderland are apparently after Welbeck and Crouch. If QPR wanted him I think we'd know by now. Can't really see which other teams would be chasing a striker like Yakubu. Other teams after a striker will be after one younger and more expensive.
RyanB89 Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 No i dont think any prem clubs wud want him either which is good for us Just meant curtis davies left because he got a offer from the premier league, he was hardly gonna turn that down to join us for prob half the wages.
accessory Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Im sure if yakubu gets a offer from the premier league hell take it Or a Turkish team that can offer him a) more wages. b) Top flight and European football.
KFS Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Or a Turkish team that can offer him a) more wages. b) Top flight and European football. Yak in Turkey wouldn't happen.. They care about pashunnn alot more than we do..
Legend_in_blue Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Im sure if yakubu gets a offer from the premier league hell take it He won't get an offer from the Premiership because he isn't good enough at that level. In terms of work-rate and sheer pace he's well off what is required at that level. I don't understand the Yak lovin' but in terms of finishing he is clinical and we haven't had a clinical striker for years. There aren't an abundance of alternatives either. It's a case of go with what you know, rather than take a risk on an unknown quantity.
80footgiraffe Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 14 Jun 2011 07:38:31 David Nugent is very close to signing for Leicester City. He will undertake a medical today before signing, this deal could be announced just after lunch. Also, the deal to bring Yakubu to the Walkers Stadium is on course to be completed later on this week, Yakubu will have to take a minor pay-cut, with a promise of an increase if Leicester get promoted this coming season. Finally, Egyptian 'keeper Essam El-Hadary is in negotiations with Leicester and says he has a "good chance" of signing for the club. With negotiations going well, El-Hadary could be a Leicester player in the next week or so. I know it's football rumours but it does calm my nerves.

Callabinho Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 On the Everton forum they seem to think the deal is well on it's way, no mention of west ham, just that they Yak has opted to join Leicester apposed to a Turkish team!
Babylon Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Something on the mercury boards this morning about us missing out on a striker.
escos Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Something on the mercury boards this morning about us missing out on a striker. After the comments of Steve Walsh last night, this would surely be Heskey?
Guest Bilo Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 I hope so to be honest. I'd hate to see Heskey come back and flop royally.
Babylon Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 After the comments of Steve Walsh last night, this would surely be Heskey? Did hear the comments so couldn't guess, just saw the board outside the newsagents.
