Petchy Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Not only has that joke been done before... but Gary Neville, left back?
Simmsy Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Leicester line up next season James Naughton woodgate campbell G.Neville Hargreaves beckham Vassell. Kieron dyer Heskey. Owen That's the winning formula.
Matt Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Houlier is being let go apparently so I guess we'll be waiting till a new manager is in place (Unless they just stick with Gary McAllister) to see if he's in the plans.
Ozwin Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 If Houllier goes I can see Sven being linked with the vacancy.
jonw88 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 If Houllier goes I can see Sven being linked with the vacancy. Even more ridiculous is O'Neill being linked with Cardiff.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Even more ridiculous is O'Neill being linked with Cardiff. Wat has he been linked ?
Adster Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Wat has he been linked ? Yeah he has, check SSN website mate.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Depending on what role heskey would be used for would determine how happy i'd be at signing him. If he came in as our main striker 20+ goal a season man, then we'd have no chance of promotion. However, i'd quite like the prospect of him feeding someone like waghorn or the yak (tho if we get heskey we wouldnt get yakubu as well.) Thats where heskey was so good for england, with rooney feeding off him. If he came in in that role he'd make an ideal replacement for howard, who waghorn linked up well with. Just my thoughts.

I'd like to think Vaz would love some of Heskey's flick ons...

80footgiraffe Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 So now we know that there is a 97% chance that Heskey will be with us next season, what is the fate of the yak? He's younger, he's fitter, he's a fan favourite, i think we should buy them both. I know, i know bad move, but hear me out. We need a strong hassler on the pitch, the yak/heskey would be the strong guy on the pitc. sub em round heskey might not be able to play a full 90 minutes at 33. Yak can come on to fill that spot. Is that SO crazy? Im 15, don't be too dicky.
StanSP Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 I don't think Yak is a fans favourite (yet?). He's not reached the fan-favourite status that players like King or Wellens have got.

Simo86 Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 Emile can easily do 90 minutes !! You sound like you know from experience!
shailen Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 Heskey will be a beast at this level. He has still got it. I saw him a couple of.times last season, and he was quality. Remember he was playing in the england team last summer albeit not very well, but the man got there on his own merit. Hes a great team player, can supply another player with easily 25 goals a season. Just ask micheal owen, his favourite strike partner was always heskey. I think someone like vassell would score easily 20 goals next season with heskey playing. He would be an excellent signing!
Nick Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 It astounds me that people thought Heskey had a bad World Cup. He set up Gerards goal for starters, His job was ronseal - to win the ball from goal kicks, hold the ball up, then lay it off. He did that brilliantly. He would be a nightmare for defenders in the Championship - Andy King will likely score 30+ ! Imagine trying to man mark Heskey & Yakubu/King you'd need two covering each ! Midfield free for all target practice.
kimmy619 Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 Personally, I don't think that Heskey would be a good signing although the majority of people seem to worship him....... I think that people are living in the past a little bit, he is not the player that he once was. People could man-mark Heskey or the Yak easily as neither of them move much. Hell, I could even (wo)man mark them
Narborough_fox Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 Still got skill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPKmqspkoXo

Yeah i agree hes not the player he was in scoring goals like he did for us, but he become a CF who sets up goals for his striking partner. Also he will have the set piece threat. My only concern is will he slow down the fast tempo game we play....because hes not the best passer or quickest player.
