Outfox the Fox Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I have heard from colleagues in Birmingham, that Stowell has been making a few trips recently to the Hawthorns. He has been to 2 Albion reserve games and 2 first team matches. The talk is, he was intially looking at Boaz Myhill - who has failed to make much of an impression at West Brom since his move from Hull - but more recently has been looking at Scott Carson, who (apparently), Roy Hodgson doesn't rate and might send on his way in the summer. I'd be happy with either of these. Myhill was rated very highly at Hull and Carson had a good reputation - until the Albion defence became a bit dodgy.
cairnsy Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Could be possible as I can see Westwood moving to a prem team
Simmsy Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I'd be happy with either, but I still think Westwood is the most likely candidate.

If they are not good enough for WBA then they are not good enough for us.
bald reynard Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I think Carson played for England Under 21's when Sven was the Boss. We know he likes International players (and he's got 3 full caps) - there might be 'some mileage' in this story. I think I'd be happier with Myhill though - I saw him keep the Spurs attack out (amost single-handedly) when Hull visited White Hart Lane last year - and his performances in the early part of that season, were one of the reasons Hull were not far from staying up.
Maybes Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Rather have Myhill. Seen far too many fvck ups from Carson over the last couple of years.
Charl91 Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Still not forgotten this one Or this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VSz6hnZOtg I'd rather not!
Number 6 Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 The one thing my WBA fan friend always complains about is the goalkeeping, no to either.
Bryn Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Myhill's decent, he never blew me away playing for Hull really, that City team played beyond the sum of their parts, but he'd be solid.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I've heard about Myhill from my mate who's a WBA fan, he's not happy sitting on the bench. Could be some substance behind it.
Bryn Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I wouldn't be surprised if Hull went back in for Myhill actually, he was loved there and they need a keeper too.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Was thinking about Myhill as a potential signing the other day, I think he'd be a good purchase.
The Padster Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 No for Carson, he's as prone to errors as Weale. If Hodgson is wanting rid then I could see Westwood going Albion.
Webbo Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Teams in our position can't expect to sign world class players. Carson would be a decent signing.
Austin Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Anyone for Speroni ? Always struck me as a decent keeper for Palace?
sdb Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I can't stress enough, Carson is crap. Even for us, even at this level. Not much between him and Weale. Sorensen, Myhill, Westwood, Kuszack - all miles better.
ajthefox Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Carsons decent but he's about as error prone as Weale has been, so no thanks!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 Myhill - I rate him, although he does let in goals from inside the other half (remember Joey Gudjonsson) ?? I actually like Lonergan from Preston tbf.

Please excuse my skeptisism for this but this post has come on the exact same day it is revealed in the bbc gossip section that Hodgson is looking at replacements for boaz and carson...

Tuna Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I'd rather have Thomas Sorenson. Carson would cost a lot and i'm not convinced he'll be leaving west brom. I think he's the club captain as well.
bigneville Posted 8 May 2011 Posted 8 May 2011 I can confirm from my contacts within WBA that Scott Carson is unhappy there, and is looking to move in the summer. However, he is looking for another Premiership club, so therefore won't be joining Leicester.
