Bert Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Bye jack, thanks for your time and efforts. All the best for the future. Should be completed by tomorrow.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 RobTannerMerc Rob Tanner After two in yesterday, one out today. Hobbs finalising his move to Hull today and should be announced tomorrow. Best of luck Jack. Best of luck Jack! I think you will be a big part in Pearson's plans at Hull, just won't suit Sven's style of play this season. Think he has the potential to play at a lower league Premier League club which play Pearson's unattractive style of hoof ball football, e.g. Stoke,Blackburn,Bolton,Wolves. Anyway Good luck Jack unless your playing us!
Liamlcfc1 Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Fourth_Official Fourth OfficialWho wants to replace Jack Hobbs? Me please! #lcfc
Brainy Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 this whole "put twitter shit in the twitter thread" is working out a treat
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 He is not a Sven's sort of player and even if he did stay I cant see Sven giving him any time so why not cash in now and spend the money elsewhere? We have no choice.... I have always made it clear I think Hobbs will go on to be a very good defender. However, we must trust Sven... That's all really
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Got to wish him the best, was collosal under Pearson but looked nothing short of gash at times last season. Sven will have his own targets, and if he reckons they'll do a better job, I trust him.
Christoph Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Shame to see such a talent go but whats done is done. Onwards and upwards I say
eaststandtom Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 shame. a delayed casualty of the mess from last summer/pearsons departure. a good defender who i will always take my hat off to for his efforts in league one. hauling the club back up from the doledrums. we needed a fresh approach then and he, among others, provided it so fair play to him. good luck jack
sdb Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Sad to see him go. Personally think we're missing a no nonsense CB like Jack, vital to get us out of the division. I know Sven likes ball playing centre halves but we had those last season and shipped goals for fun.
Number 6 Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Flourished under Pearson but never been in Sven's plans and hasn't performed for us since NP left. Should be a good move for all parties involved. Wish him all the best.
breadandcheese Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 A good honest player who I think we're selling on the cheap. Good luck Jack.
Haydos Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Cheers Jacky! Fantastic under Pearson but went off the boil last season. Sven obviously wasn't that impressed. I'm sure he'll have a fine career though. Good luck lad
Matt Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Good luck Jack. Shame it didn't work out post Pearson, but sure he can move on now, good luck.
accessory Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 I couldn't tell you, but I'm sure Brown in our defence last season, with 3 talented defenders along side him would have seen us keep more clean sheets and picked up more points than we did. Yes, he would have been so comfortable playing alongside Naughton, Bruma and van Aanholt, with Ricardo behind him. He'd also have got on very well with Sven and Top. You do remember why we let him go, right?

He'd also have got on very well with Sven and Top. You do remember why we let him go, right? At one point did i say we should have kept him? No one can defend what he did, but from a playing point of view, we did not replace him. And as i said, Brown with 3 talented players in the back 4 with him (Naughton, Bruma and PVA) would have IMO seen a more solid defensive unit than we had.
Clarkielcfc Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 not too fussed with this, me personally would much rather of had been able to keep bruma,, was i think just the wrong time for him here last season, hence why... bruma hamburg hobbs hull hmmmm!!! sven knows what he is doing and im right behind him with whoever he wants or doesnt want!! :sge:
dannythefox Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Like Hobbs hes done well here but its time to move on. Wish him all the best for the future.
bridlington Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Evening Leicester fans, hull fan here. Just been reading through the thread and there are some pretty interesting comments. we were chuffed with Hobbs performances when he came and are delighted with today's news, hoping he can form an excellent partnership with James Chester for many years to come. Interesting to see your thoughts on styles of play and not fitting in with svens ethos. I'm hopeful in Hobbs and Chester we will get that balance in the defence as we are beginning to in other areas. Intrigued now to see who is next to follow Pearson. I'd put money on weale personally.

bridlington Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Hobbs is actually a good player in the right team, but you really don't want Weale. Weale was excellent for you for two years wasn't he? Then Ricardo came in...
sdb Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Weale is very hit and miss. Like a confidence player although his rises and dips in from often defy logic. 18 months ago he looked amazing, yes. Hope he stays as he'd be excellent back up/competition for KS if he gets his head right again.
Stevosevic Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Weale was excellent for you for two years wasn't he? Then Ricardo came in... He was good until Derby away in his first season, around February time, but it all went downhill from there, endless mistakes. That's when i think people realised why he was number 2 at Bristol City for so long.
sdb Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 ...as for Hobbs you've got a very good Championship CB at a very tidy price. He's worth twice that imo. Although if we bring Mills in i'll forgive you Sven!
