broughtonblue Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 With the fixtures out tomorrow, this is the one I look forward to most. Would love a repeat of Leeds, if not florist would be brill. But really would take any home game to fit in with family commitments. Who/what is the date you look forward too?
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 im looking forward to the 6th August so the season STARTS I would also like Derby, Forest or leeds away/home anyone is good
I am Rod Hull Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 After a couple of games, i usually cant wait till the last game of the season .
Guest Bilo Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Straight-forward match please, our record in Boxing Day matches is pretty average. 2001/2002 (Prem) Ipswich (A) Lost 2-0 2002/2003 (Cham) Ipswich (H) Lost 1-2 2003/2004 (Prem) Newcastle (H) Drew 1-1 [Record Attendance at Walkers to date; 32,148] 2004/2005 (Cham) Rotherham (H) Lost 0-1 2005/2006 (Cham) Millwall (H) Drew 1-1 2006/2007 (Cham) Hull (A) Won 2-1 2007/2008 (Cham) Ipswich (H) Won 2-0 2008/2009 (Lg One) Leeds (A) Drew 1-1 2009/2010 (Cham) Sheff Utd (H) Won 2-1 2010/2011 (Cham) Leeds (H) Drew 2-2 P10 W3 D4 L3 F12 A14 Pts 13
Dan Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Half of our boxing day games in the last 10 years have been Ipswich or Leeds?! Fvck me. And we had Ipswich a week before it last year. Tbh, a home game, don't fancy being hungover for a game. That said, will we have a new years game this season? If not then I hope we're at home boxing day, purely because if you have both you're always home for one and away for other, and as said cba with a long journey on boxing day.
jonthefox Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 seeing as us and wet spam are joint favourites, i think we'll get them. I f only to prove my point the fixture list is fixed for tv. Remember league one with leeds on a bank holiday and boxing day.
STEVIE B Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 To be fair, of the last 6 we have 3 wins & 3 draws. 2pts a game on average,an improvement on the first 4 ! Forest or Derby away would be great on Boxing day.
sphericalfox Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 My money on Ipswich IT'S A FIX!!!! Kidding aside, Ipswich are going to be a force to be reckoned with, and that should be a cracking match!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Ipswich are nearly always a dead ceret to be played around Christmas.
sphericalfox Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 It's unlikely that it will be televised this year either, what with B'ham V West Ham the same day.
Hitesh Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 They'll most likely have a few games live on Boxing Day so it's a potential. And how do we manage to get Ipswich / Leeds so much around Boxing Day?!!
Larry_LCFC Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 We seem to be at home a lot on boxing day aswell. Pefect
broughtonblue Posted 17 June 2011 Author Posted 17 June 2011 Quite happy with this, they will bring a few fans and we normally have some good banter with them. They were decent last season
Matt Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Is it me or do we always seem to have Ipswich on Boxing Day? (Obviously don't take 'always' literally, we didn't have them last season on Boxing Day, but we seem to have them very often on Boxing Day) Even as a kid (I'm talking 17 years ago) when I was bought a ticket for the Boxing Day game for Christmas, I think it was for Ipswich, it was called off though because of snow.
