ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 ..although Liam beat him to the Nugent story yesterday...
Webbo Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Surprised that some people are rating this guy based on his world cup performances. I watched those three matches pretty closely as my company was doing a story involving him. The things that stick in my mind are that he was trying to be the hero, shooting from poor positions, not passing to team-mates in better positions, lacking composure etc. Overall I thought he looked greedy and pretty ordinary. Impressive work rate though, no doubt about that I agree. There's a reason why he's playing in the German second division.
Brainy Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 theres more than just giraffe who have firmly shoved themselves up bert's arse.
The Doctor Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 theres more than just giraffe who have firmly shoved themselves up bert's arse. I doubt it, have you tried sodomising someone with a giraffe? Not much else can fit up afterwards. note: i haven't tried sodomising someone with a giraffe
Sirloin Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I agree. There's a reason why he's playing in the German second division. vfl Bochum are not a small club, they get 30,000 crowds pretty much every week and were only out of the Bundesliga 1 last season.
JohnnyB Posted 1 August 2011 Author Posted 1 August 2011 According to todays Merc he is still under consideration. "Eriksson also said North Korea striker Jong Tae Se was on his long list of strikers under consideration."
Happy Fox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I am guessing that he is still injured maybe this transfer will happen later in the window
JohnnyB Posted 1 August 2011 Author Posted 1 August 2011 I missed a bit of the content from the Merc "Eriksson also said North Korea striker Jong Tae Se was on his long list of strikers under consideration. "We are working on different targets and I am not sure if something will happen before next Saturday or not. But sooner or later it will happen," he said. "Jong is one on a long list. I know him. He played for North Korea in the World Cup. He is a good striker but he is only one name on a long, long list."
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Jong on Leicester's listEriksson still trying to bring in another striker this summe Leicester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson has confirmed North Korea international Jong Tae-se is one of the names on his list as he tries to sign a new striker. Eriksson has been active in the transfer market during the summer as he looks to construct a squad capable of winning promotion to the Premier League. He is still aiming to improve his attacking options and has been linked with the likes of Nicky Maynard, Shane Long and Robbie Keane. North Korean forward Jong, who currently plays for Bochum in Germany, has also been linked with a move to the Championship club. Jong has previously had a trial at Blackburn Rovers and Eriksson acknowledged that the player is a possible option for the Foxes. However, Eriksson is unsure whether he will be able to add another striker to his squad in time for Leicester's opening game of the season against Coventry City on Saturday. "We are working on different targets and I am not sure if something will happen before next Saturday or not. But sooner or later it will happen," Eriksson told the Leicester Mercury. "Jong is one on a long list. I know him. He played for North Korea in the World Cup. 80footgiraffe Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Have a read through the 16 pages on this and let me know your thoughts! IMO he'd be a cracking addition but i do feel like we need a proper 20 a season man e.g Long or MAynard but I'd love him here have been a fan for a while.

davieG Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Have a read through the 16 pages on this and let me know your thoughts! To be fair to the poster he posted it as a new topic as there seems to be some confusion over the players name hence i've edited the title of this topic.
stourbridgefox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Apparently the players name is spelled and pronounced differently for different people. There is one name in North Korea, another in South Korea and a name for the rest of the world. Or something like that! ps - I wonder what the Leicester accent will do to it?

StarFox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I wouldn't read too much into svens comment about Jong. On foxesplayer in a post match interview, Sven was ask if Jong Tae Se was in his list of possible strikers to bring in. Sven replied with: "Jong is one on a long list. I know him. He played for North Korea in the World Cup. He is a good striker but he is only one name on a long, long list." Sven had to respond to the question with some sort of comment, even if he dismissed him a month or so back. It was a generic and polite response about a player who's probably not a realistic target.

I think if he was no longer a target for . for whatever reason, then he would of said so..
Raw Dykes Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I think if he was no longer a target for . for whatever reason, then he would of said so.. I disagree. If he says when he doesn't want a player, then you can tell he's probably after a player when he won't comment, or avoids answering the question directly. He wants clubs to think he has plenty of targets so that his hand is strengthened when negotiating a fee. Selling clubs are more likely to play hardball if they think Sven is desperate to sign any one particular player, so it's best if he just gives a vague answer when questioned about targeting any player, whether he wants to sign him or not. It helps prevent you getting ripped off.
dannythefox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Think this lad could do a job but we need a proven prem/cham striker end of!
blackburnguy34 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Blackburn Guy here.Just to let you know Leicester are to beat us after long battle for a couple of months sign Jong Tae se.I am gutted as i've seen him play several time's while working away and i think you have a real star.the news is your manager finally gave up on his major transfer target that he had set aside 6mill for.He was unable to complete a deal so switched his investment. With his 6 mill he was able to bring in loans for johnson, fernandes(Half the money he had left in the kitty)and will pay 3 mill for Jong.He may not complete in time for your first game, but he has chose leicester over blackburn(Much to my dismay !)David Goodwillie is who we have had to settle for.Looks like you set for a fun season.!
