Marmite Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 So if no Prem teams come in for him and West Ham are desperate to sell... What happens than?? They are not desperate to sell.....Carlton Cole on his day can bag goals he can certainly win them promotion back to the premier league.
Rusko187 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 They are not desperate to sell.....Carlton Cole on his day can bag goals he can certainly win them promotion back to the premier league. I was led to presume they wanted him off the wage bill, did he play against Cardiff?
bluearmyfox23 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 I was led to presume they wanted him off the wage bill, did he play against Cardiff? Came on as a sub and fell over the ball straight away dont want him here he is a donkey and it takes him 3 or 4 clear chances just to get 1 goal
The Doctor Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Has anyone thought about bidding for Carlton Cole? Or is that just stupid? it is if you want some-one who can score goals.
Darkon84 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Came on as a sub and fell over the ball straight away dont want him here he is a donkey and it takes him 3 or 4 clear chances just to get 1 goal This Would rather have Anichebe, and thats saying something
Ross_Spencer Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 @FanhousePercy "If Sven does miss out on Robbie Keane expect him to revive his interest in #Fulham striker Andy Johnson #lcfc"
Happy Fox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 He isn't that bad, fairly quick and direct I would take him definitely we are running out of options
funkyrobot Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Overrated, underwhelming goalscoring record, overpaid and injury prone, sign him up!
Raw Dykes Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 He isn't that bad, fairly quick and direct I would take him definitely we are running out of options Agreed. He really isn't as bad as some people are making out, but the truth is he is very injury prone. I would be happy if we signed him, but I would worry how long we could keep him fit.
MGLCFC Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Thought he was negotiating a new contract at Fulham?
Hack Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 From the soccernet site today 12.34: Fulham boss Martin Jol has confirmed Andy Johnson is in talks over a new deal. "Andy Johnson is doing very well at the moment and that's why the club are in talks with him to extend his contract by a year,” he said. “I expect him to sign it over the next month.”

Number 6 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 We have zero chance of signing anyone who is starting for a Prem team. Looking more and more like it's gonna have to be a loan option.
Happy Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 We have zero chance of signing anyone who is starting for a Prem team. Looking more and more like it's gonna have to be a loan option. We should be looking at solid championship strikers, but obviously they will cost the money and teams will not sell to their rivals, then it is case as you alluded to a loan striker, Or we could take a gamble and go the foreign route who knows
Walshy5 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 What i cant understand is why have we given up on maynard!
thewarmanator Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 What i cant understand is why have we given up on maynard! Who has said this? Maybe we are just showing bristol city that we have other options and wont pay over the odds for him and when he hands a transfer request in I am sure we will go back in for him
toms Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 @FanhousePercy "If Sven does miss out on Robbie Keane expect him to revive his interest in #Fulham striker Andy Johnson #lcfc" There is no way Andy Johnson will come to Leicester City as he is in the first team at Fulham. Sven has made a big big mistake in ignoring Chopra and Phillips as both are capable of getting 20 goals this season, bought in 10 players but we don't have one natural goal scorer in the squad!! That's a criminal waste of money IMO.

Bettsy82 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 I honestly think we need a couple of strikers and at least 1 winger howard looks to be on his way waghorn just doesn't look interested and seems to be waiting for the right offer and schlupp needs more experience. That leaves nugent who I like he works tirelessly and his runs are very clever and but for a lick of paint he'd have two goals now. As for Johnson he's very injury prone realistic targets for me are cox, ebanks Blake, jerome, best, Kebe, Townsend, boyd etc.
Happy Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 A winger or two is imperative with at least 2 more strikers, if we manage to bring them in, we will be fine hopefully
toms Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Don't you think Sven isn't trying to bring a striker/strikers in? I think he has missed out on( two )20 goal striker's Chopra and Phillips, who we could of signed for not much money, like I said 10 players in, but we dont have an out and out goal scorer in the squad, I dont think thats very clever at all from Sven at all. I think he knows he has made a big mistake there.

I think he knows he has made a big mistake there. last year we leaked goals.. we had to replace the loaned defenders from last year.. hes just started from the back the transfer window still has a couple of weeks left, premier league teams will be submitting there 25 man squad soon also. theres no way we would be letting howard go (as shit as i think he is) if he hadnt got plans for more striker/s
