The people on here who are saying no to AJ are disillusioned. Would be frighteningly good at this level.

The Andy Johnson of old yes, though would he be the same force now?...i have my doubts.

whens the transfer window shut.. this is getting crazy now.. this rate it will be 1-1-9 formation..

lol @ the no thanks brigade also.

Are we not playing with a GK then?

and at 4 million...having a laugh

wouldn't sign aj for more than 2 mill and 20 grand a week

You do realise it's not your money

Andy Johnson would, in my opinion, be very bad business.

His scoring record is actually remarkably poor

SInce leaving Palace he's scored 27 league goals in 124 games. 11 of those came in his first season at Everton.

If you take Palace out of the equation he's scored 35 goals in 211 league games.

People who say I wouldn't sign him at that price but I would at a lower price are really speaking quite strangely. Any player is either good enough or worthwhile signing or not. It is the owners who will be paying, so price is irrelevant.

LEICESTER CITY boss Sven Goran Eriksson is set to agree terms with England one-cap wonder David Nugent – at the launch of a huge signing bonanza.

Nugent, 26, is a free agent after leaving Portsmouth and Leicester are the only club in the Championship who can match his old Premier League wages.

Bullshit don't want him I want Maynard over him, sod woodgate I'd rather give tunchev a contract fino about andy Johnson he is hit n miss n injury prone so tbh vassell could prove better

Eriksson is prepared to pay £2.5million apiece for two more strikers – Fulham’s Andy Johnson and Peterborough’s Craig Mackail-Smith. He also wants Jonathan Woodgate, released by Tottenham.

I never saw Glue Factory in King Power's list of businesses...

Though Johnson might be able to perform a 'Heskey' type role up front, the cost of his wages plus the overpriced fee would not make it an economically cost effective outlay.

Not too fussed about either of these

Johnson would compliment Craig Mackail-Smith well, but without a high scoring player alongside him could look a lumbering fool

Woodgate? Really? Is Tunch that much in need of company in the treatment room that we feel the need to sign the player with the worst fitness record of the past decade

Surely his wages would sting a bit too

Andy Johnson, don't really hear much or think much of him anymore... Sure he could bang them in whilst he was at Palace but ever since, he went completely off my radar.

He's too injury prone for my liking so I don't think that £2.5 million is worth paying. Plus this rumour comes form the People, one of the last places I'd look for reliable transfer rumours.

For the sake of trying to bring about a fully-fit, goal scoring strike force (which our team will be the Holy Grail), Andy Johnson is not the answer.

I'd be pretty angry if we paid a fee for Johnson.

As MTWG said, he's living off penalties he scored 5 years ago for Palace.

What's Johnson's fitness record been like in 2011? I know he played for Fulham at the start of the year and did well - did he stay fit?

Tucked away at the bottom of this People piece linking David Nugent with Leicester City is a suggestion that the Foxes are about to bid £2.5m for Andy Johnson.

Should Fulham sign a couple of forwards during the close season then Johnson may find himself surplus to requirements at Craven Cottage, something that would be harsh on the former Everton striker given the impressive way he ended the last campaign. QPR are known to be keen on signing the one-time England international, although their previous interest appeared to have stalled once Fulham suggested the asking price would be closer to £4m. For that reason, I’d be surprised to see AJ depart for such a cut-price fee.

Why dont QPR just **** off, they seem to be linked with every player on earth, and more so, the ones we are rumoured to be after

Woodgate no thanks, hes always has and always will be injury prone! Waste of time and money!...... AJ, yes! a goalscorer who had a set back with a injury but i still think he would do the business!
