Stevosevic Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 i see tunch sticking around if he gets fit again So does Sven i think.
MPH Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 I really would love the Tunch to stay,,,, i just.. well i think it depends on what Bamba is doing too... He'd possibly be 4th choice until he gets back to his best... which he wont do sitting on the bench.,... Bit of a catch 22 situation....
80footgiraffe Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 If we're meeting with reading tday, and all goes well, then I imagine a deal could be accepted and matt could be at the kp by the end of the week.
cc_star Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Mills & SSL With Tunch & Taft on the bench? Sorry, I don't rate Bamba as a defender, amazing footballer but caught out of position far too often & too many bad decisions to be a CB for a team aiming for automatic

Les-TA-Jon Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Assuming we get Mills - do you think Sven might toy with playing Bamba in a midfield holding role? Schmeichel Peltier Mills SSL Masiela Bamba Danns Wellens King Nugent Maynard Although this would leave out Gally so .................

Schmeichel Peltier Mills SSL Masiela Bamba Danns Wellens King Nugent Maynard Although this would leave out Gally so ................. I've always thought Gally could do real damage just behind the front 2 with his passing & shooting ability. King isn't really the playmaking attacker you need there & he'd be perhaps too high up to avoid defenders attention for his late runs I think Bamba could do OK there, but that is a position where workrate often trumps technical ability so I'm still a bit unsure

Topman Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 I habe Abe over Bamba any day of the week, Abe much better on the ball, I can see Bamba trying to do a cryuff turn and get caught out , bamba in CB for me
samstown92 Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 I think we should actually try Bamba in the holding role, similar to Bruma.. if we get Matt Mills and Hopefully Ben Mee anyway!
Jimmy Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 I think we should actually try Bamba in the holding role, similar to Bruma.. if we get Matt Mills and Hopefully Ben Mee anyway! if we're using Bamba as a midfielder then we'd need to sign a 4th CB this summer
samstown92 Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 if we're using Bamba as a midfielder then we'd need to sign a 4th CB this summer yeah, if we've got tunch, St ledger, and if we got Mee and Mills, with Bamba thats 5 CB's
tomtom Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 The midfield 3 will be Danns, Wellens and king...I don't see bamba getting in anywhere else other than CB

Schmeichel Peltier Mills SSL Masiela Bamba Danns Wellens King Nugent Maynard Although this would leave out Gally so ................. When we played the Diamond formation, i think against Norwich, there left back and right back dominated, and the formation was never used again, so i doubt Sven would play that.

Agreed,...didn't suit us playing so narrow and its a lot harder breaking down defences at home with that formation When we played the Diamond formation, i think against Norwich, there left back and right back dominated, and the formation was never used again, so i doubt Sven would play that. Jimmy Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 yeah, if we've got tunch, St ledger, and if we got Mee and Mills, with Bamba thats 5 CB's Tunchev still has to prove his fitness which is no formality for him so atm we have Bamba, St. Ledger and 2 young kids in Parkes and Bolger as central defenders as well as Moreno who "can play there"
accessory Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 We're still lacking a natural defensive leader. Don't mind if the club push the boat out to ensure Mills signs for us.
jock2612 Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 The Birmingham Mail think Wolves have this deal done.I think we should move on and get Mee in ASAP.
Woollett's Wellies Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 The Birmingham Mail think Wolves have this deal done.I think we should move on and get Mee in ASAP. This article is a bizarre piece of journalism in that it actually says only our bid has been accepted and Wolves might match it this week and then would wrap up the deal. So many assumptions in it it certainly doesn't change the current situation. Here's the relevant part.. WOLVES remain in pole position to capture Reading defender Matt Mills. The Championship club have already agreed a £4 million fee with Leicester but the indications are that Wolves will come in and match it next week. And then barring Stoke City entering a formal bidding process, and less likely Bolton or Blackburn, then Wolves will seal the transfer after the formalities of personal terms are sorted towards the end of next week. I presume we were then allowed to speak to Mills and his agent. I wonder if we've done this yet?
ithuriel Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 If we miss out on Mills then thus far every major big money signing we have tried to bring in will have failed thus far wonder if the bookies would still make us favourites at present
Itsthejoeker Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 They seem quite confident despite the fact they haven't had a bid accepted
