half posh at most, Smith is a commoners surname like Hall or Jones.

that cat looks disturbingly like a parrot that's barking like a dog. Or a dog with a parrot's beak.

Anyway, hall is a bit of a commoner name, not like mine.

Bert indicated the clubs are meeting to discuss it tomorrow. That would suggest that a bid has not been accepted. Maybe a ball park figure has been sort of accepted in principle and now they want to get down to the nitty gritty of how much Conrad Logan, Leon Crncic, Adda Djeziri, Fernando Pasquinelli and Jimmy Willis or worth as makeweights going the other way?

You forgot Franck Rolling as defensive coach/mentor.

Im guessing that our pursuit of Mills.. after having already captured SSL would mean the end of the Tunch in a Leicester shirt.....

I dont imagine once he gets back to full fitness that he would be happy to sit on the bench....

:(

I think Tunch will still play a part in the upcoming season. If we're going for depth in squad, Tunchev will be a valuable asset.

Need to keep Tunchev for his experience. Can't think of anyone better to bring off the bench to sure our backline up!

Bamba on the otherhand might be struggling if we sign Mills

Leicester City have completed the signing of Preston North End defender Sean St Ledger.

However, they face a crucial wait to see if they can snatch defender Matt Mills from Reading.

Republic of Ireland centre-back St Ledger last night finalised his £1.2million switch from Deepdale after undergoing a medical.

City hope to make it a defensive double by also capturing Mills.

But they face tough opposition from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Stoke City for the 24-year-old, who can both offer him Premier League football.

However, City are understood to be offering closer to Reading's £4m price tag than their rivals, and have prepared a good personal package to tempt the player.

The Royals were holding a board meeting yesterday to discuss transfer business, with Mills's future top of the agenda.

City will hold talks with Reading today in a bid to thrash out a deal.

Mills remains Wolves' No.1 target this summer but City are doing all they can to entice him to the Walkers Stadium, despite their Championship status.Meanwhile, City are expected to step up their attempts to sign Bristol City's Nicky Maynard after Craig Mackail-Smith joined Brighton & Hove Albion yesterday afternoon.

City had agreed a fee with Peterborough for the 27-year-old striker of around £3m.

Mackail-Smith met City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson last Friday to discuss personal terms, but he also held talks with West Ham United last Thursday.

However, Posh accepted a bid of £2.5m, rising to £3.25m, from Championship new boys Brighton on Sunday, and Mackail-Smith agreed personal terms that night. He was unveiled yesterday afternoon.

City have remained interested in Maynard, despite the Robins rejecting their initial bid for the 24-year-old striker, and are now expected to follow up their interest with another offer.

City look to have had more luck in their pursuit of David Nugent.

The former England international is a free agent after leaving Portsmouth, and has been considering offers from several clubs, including City.

It is understood the 26-year-old is keen on a move to City and could sign in the next few days.

Indeed. We'll need a minimum of 4 central defenders in the squad to cover for injuries, suspensions, loss of form etc.

Just wondering, is it possible to pay extra to be the only bid accepted?

I suppose if we offerend considerably more, the club could only accept ours, to try and force the player to join us, but the its all down to the player at the end of the day. The Mackail-Smith situation was that Posh would have preferred to send him here as Kennedy would probably be part of the deal, but he chose Brighton :(

If we offer the most money i'd imagine they'd only accept our bid
