????? Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 With the arrival of Danns, we now have 5 Quality center midfielders, should we sell King to make room and a fair amount of money? If not who should we sell? Personally i wouldnt mind seeing him going to everton with Yak and money coming our way.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Don't know really? Has a real knack of being in the right place at the right time and can score goals,he is replaceable but I think we should only sell him if a very good bid comes along (5m). His weaknesses to the game are obviously he can be anonymous in some games and is quite a weak player but there is something about him, which tells me we should only sell him to a high bid. I think selling him this season though would be a mistake.
Bert Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Not for me, we need strength and depth. Selling our best goal scoring midfielder won't get us promotion.
Bryn Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 I wouldn't like us to, but I would expect that he has a price, that if a club met that price (which I would hope is in the region of £4-6 million), we'd sell him and bring in two or three players with the cash.
keithweller Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 i dont see why? 5 quality central midfielders is absolutely fine by me. we need a squad with quality throughout to seriously push for promotion this season. wouldnt mind if oakley went though.
Jon the Hat Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Why not!!! He was only top scorer last season from the midfield! Who needs goals. FFS. What a stupid question.
Ric Flair Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 No, no, no. When was the last time we had a player come through the academy that has achieved anything with us? He must stay and we must build our team around him. Wellens for me can go if we need to make room. He's the wrong side of 30, goes missing in games you expect him to exert his authority and his value will only diminish. I don't think he's capable of playing in the Premier League either where as King can improve and will do. Abe is a different beast to the pair of them and brings something different to the table, he's also going to be more at ease playing fewer times than King or Richie.
cc_star Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 I have toyed with the idea of cashing-in myself, but he's a brilliant talent and still some way from his peak so his value could yet increase. I think we need the strength in depth to challenge for a top2 place, so I'd be ecstatic to see him turning out for us next season However should we fail to go up, Sven's contract will come to an end and I've a feeling the owners may want some of their cash back from the (presumably) relatively high wages we're shelling out on 3 year contracts, so next summer could be a good time to sell, should we not go up. I think his elusiveness would be great in the Prem
superfox1980 Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 No way. I think it would be very difficult to replace the amount of goals he brings to the team. We need strength in depth if we want to get promoted, something that was majorly lacking in midfield last season.
Guest Bilo Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 No. If you think we regret selling Gradel for less than a mill, wait till we sell King for £3m in 2011 and watch him go to a CL team for double that two years later. Quality goalscorer, can dictate play in the middle on form and an integral part of the team. Eriksson hasn't made him captain for nothing either, so this won't be happening.
thybluefox Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 No. King will only get better with the quality we're bringing into the team, I'm certain he'll have an even better season next season than last.

Sven shouldn't even contemplate selling him.
One Arm Babba Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 No. absolutely not. He's part of the fabric of the club. IMO he is this eras Walsh/Izzet

Wellens is probably the only player last season to be consistent in most games, he can get goals and create them, he's solid in the middle and helps the defence out when they start to counter attack. So if anyone should go it should be Oakley, considering he has hardly played the last season, King is, probably, going to be our captain for this season, this will help him massively in his push to become a bigger and better player, but if something around the 6-7million mark came along then he can be sold but anything under that no way

Why would you sell your top goalscorer for someone that barely scored 1 goal a game, a player of Yakubu's standard should be scoring in most games in this division
Bezzanator89 Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 No way in hell will we sell him. He was our top scorer with 15 goals and he's a midfielder. The person who had the brain lapse when makign this poll needs to have a rethink.
