MikeyT Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Joey Barton has been notified by the United States Embassy that he will not be given a visa for Newcastle's pre-season tour of the country, the club have announced. Barton has been refused the visa because of his criminal record meaning he will miss the games against Sporting Kansas, Orlando City and Columbus Crew. Barton, who will link up with the reserve squad for their tour of Holland, admitted it was regrettable he was unable to make the trip to the United States. "Unfortunately, I was denied my visa due to my past," Barton told the club's official website. "I regret not being able to travel with the club on this trip, but at the same time, I don't expect to be treated any differently or more favourably than anyone else in a similar situation. "All I can do is continue to improve as a person, which is what I intend to do. "Again, apologies to all the NUFC supporters - as well as the fast growing legions of football supporters in the United States who I was looking forward to meeting. I will see you in the future."
ajthefox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 serves him right. Doubt it will make any difference to Newcastle's season though.
Brainy Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Worth pointing out that Barton actually hasnt done anything wrong for the past three years, just incase somebody out there thinks that he's been out mugging old women in the past week.

He then tweeted whilst improving himself as a person “Total hypocrisy considering what [America] gets up to but rules are rules………” as the Joey we all know and hate
MikeyT Posted 13 July 2011 Author Posted 13 July 2011 A second now! lol SkyGraemeBailey Graeme Bailey A second Newcastle player has been rejected a US Visa with Nile Ranger now denied entry
Jordan Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Joey Barton and "totally hypocrisy," well, isn't that rich. Don't know what's the story with Nile Ranger unless the Department of Homeland Security denied his visa because of identity theft? Perhaps they watched some Newcastle games over the past two years. I mean, surely, this guy is not a Premiership-class forward.
Stadt Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 I remember when we played Newcastle on sky when Ranger was made out be like the new Messi - I've hated him ever since

Anorak Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 I remember when we played Newcastle on sky when Ranger was made out be like the new Messi - I've hated him ever since That was Gary Birtles talking shite, he was slobbering over him for no apparent reason whatsoever.
Bryn Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Has now been released by Newcastle, apparently, following a twitter outburst.
Austin Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Has now been released by Newcastle, apparently, following a twitter outburst. Just saw this myself!
One Arm Babba Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 unreal, what a joke NUFC have become. Barton is a class player. Maybe he will join Arsenal now as previously rumoured.
ScouseFox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 What did he say on twitter? I follow 'im but swear I don't remember seeing anything controversial
Bugg Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 at Newcastle's board. actually, scatch that, at Newcastle
ScouseFox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Mike Ashley trending on Twitter. Surprisingly it's not all that complimentary.
ScouseFox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 When something's popular and has been mentioned by lots of people it becomes a trending topic. So thousands upon thousands have recently tweeted about Mike Ashley, most including the word "idiot" "twat", ""clueless" etc.
ScouseFox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 dannysimpson12 Danny Simpson Lost for words 32 minutes ago Total mess up there.
Dames Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 If we didn't have too many midfielders a cheeky bid for Barton would have been fantastic.
