Happy Fox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Well our bid for Shane Long is still on the table http://twitter.com/#!/BertLcfc BertLcfc LcfcInfoMan @pageyLCFC still on the table
Adster Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 I second this! Do it Adster! I'll make him crack, he's starting to warm to Leicester I can tell..
bluearmyfox23 Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 tbh i really dnt exspect west ham to go in for maynard or long cause after all they have just signed john carew and secondly they allready have premeirship strikers in: carlton cole (who i dnt see will leave) piquane ( however u say it) and freddie sears tht means all together u have 4 prem strikers including carew. And also dnt forget tht kevin nolan can play as a second striker! so i honestly dont see them splasing out 5-8m on a champ striker
Aidy3 Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Can't see WBA Bidding for long to be honest, they got odemwingie as there pacy option. I still think were in pole position to sign him.

This and 1 of my m8ts who is a reading fan reckons his heart is else where and claims he over heard him saying he would like a move to west ham or leicester? it could be total bullshit but thought i would still let u know

They all think CCole will go and think he is rubbish anyway, Sears just isn't up to much, even at Championship level and the problem with Piquionne and Carew is they're not natural finishers. They're looking for a 20-a-seasoner like us, hence their interest in Long and Maynard. I hope Odenwinge is enough, but if they are looking for another striker there are so few out there at the moment that there is definitely a big chance it is Long, and Reading will probably sell for less to a Premiership team if it comes down to it.
SilverFox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Well our bid for Shane Long is still on the table http://twitter.com/#!/BertLcfc BertLcfc LcfcInfoMan @pageyLCFC still on the table Sounds to me like Reading might want to sell...just not to us. Check out the last paragraph of this article. Firmly suggests that Reading will accept an offer, but only from a premier league club:- http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/9609/4/exclusive-mcdermott-expecting-bidding-war-long
glen parva fox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Think it's down to their chairman and what a club offers, money talks

If u play nolan behing carew or piquionne he would easily get 20+ goals running onto there flick ons
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Can see him going either Bolton or WBA but i hope im wrong.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Can see him going either Bolton or WBA but i hope im wrong. Me 2
Nick Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 http://www.joe.ie/football/football-news/shane-long-set-to-join-west-brom-later-today-report-0014742-1 And slightly older and probably already posted but I have enough friends anyway: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2021248/Shane-Long-tells-Hammers-come-him.html
One Arm Babba Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Just been on the radio in Ireland that WBA have had a €7 million bid accepted and that he will discuss terms today. This was RTE radio
Happy Fox Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Just been on the radio in Ireland that WBA have had a €7 million bid accepted and that he will discuss terms today. This was RTE radio Now we have to fight West Ham maybe even Southampton for Nicky Maynard
dpjfox Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 At least Long looks like being absent from the KP at weekend
suffolk fox Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Shane Long is at West Brom as we speak apparently having a medical prior to a 7million pound move. As been mentioned previously mentioned in Ireland on the radio this morning and also is all over the Reading Boards. Just who are we going to sign we still need a striker?
Nick Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 We now need a quick 30 pages of "Never wanted him anyway..................." to get to the 100 mark. Bye bye thread.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Think we will be glad we never got him, i reckon he is shit Good enough Nick?
sphericalfox Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 We now need a quick 30 pages of "Never wanted him anyway..................." to get to the 100 mark. Bye bye thread. I think he'll do 'okay' at West Brom' but frankly as an Irish supporter I would have preferred him here, as I think he needs another CCC season under his belt for development. Nay mind.
Nick Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Think we will be glad we never got him, i reckon he is shit Keep em comin. Good enough Nick?
Simo86 Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 We now need a quick 30 pages of "Never wanted him anyway..................." to get to the 100 mark. Bye bye thread. Never wanted him, all he does is score goals
Leicester_Loyal Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Never wanted him anyway, wastes too much energy chasing balls he wins and then scores from.
escos Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 I couldn't care less what people think of me for saying this but have said it from the start. He is not worth anywhere near £7m and if we don't get him I will be very happy that we have avoided being ripped off.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 I couldn't care less what people think of me for saying this but have said it from the start. He is not worth anywhere near £7m and if we don't get him I will be very happy that we have avoided being ripped off. The only problem is that WHOEVER we target now, we're likely to get ripped off just as much
ithuriel Posted 8 August 2011 Posted 8 August 2011 Would have preferred him over NM but the prem beckon's for him.
