Bugg Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 He's not a geordie,, Thats Howard... Waggy is a Mackum !! I wouldn't call someone from South Shields a Mackem, they wouldn't be impressed.
jock2612 Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 I think MW has a great deal of potential BUT not on wing but playing off another striker in a 442 that is why he is unsettled .He scored his gaols for us in a 442 and has not been the same player since being asked toplay 433.Hope he stays because i believe Sven will have change from 433 if we are to get promoted.

Actually his run in the team came when we switched to playing 4-3-3. Wouldn't be upset if he did leave though, he's had long enough to convince Sven he's worth a place in the line-up and obviously hasn't. Too erratic with his finishing and gives the ball away 9 times out of 10.
Guest parky0607 Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 I'd be fuming is we sold him without giving him a chance. He got 13 goals in his first season with us, and he didn't start a game for quite a while, so how can people say he is not good enough? With the talent we have in the team now to give him the chances to score I don't see no reason why he can't be our 20+ goals striker. I second this. Give him a decent run at least anyway
Happy Fox Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 I second this. Give him a decent run at least anyway We haven't got time for sentiment the aim is promotion, there cannot be any backseat drivers, I would send him out on loan, I doubt he is going to get much of a chance this season

Brown Fox Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 Southampton have made an enquiry according to 4th official
funkyrobot Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 IMO he will be the next Max Gradel in so much as he will go on to another team and another manger will get the best out of him and reap the rewards...watch this space. Agree
poggypogpog Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 He needs to be given a good chance in opinion. I think he struggled last season due a general lack of quality and stability in our squad. He has the potential to make it big and I really hope he is wearing the blue of Leicester when he does that and starts knocking goals in for fun.

ajthefox Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 I'd be well fooked off if we sold him but a loan might be quite beneficial. If he goes anywhere in this league and plays regularly I'd put money on him getting a decent haul
thybluefox Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Loan to a midtable championship side would be the best thing for all IMO. We've not got the time to just see if he's any good or not after a few games.
FallenAngel Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 I would hope at most he goes out on loan, get some more experience and build his confidence up, I truely feel he is one to hang on to
Webbo Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 If he doesn't at least get on the bench against Rotherham he might as well start looking for another club.
topharry123 Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 If he doesn't at least get on the bench against Rotherham he might as well start looking for another club. I bet he'll start against Rotherham to be honest. Think sven will want to mix things up a little to get everyone involved! That game will give Sven a good chance to have a proper look at Le Fondre!
Aidy3 Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Le fondre isn't good enough, we can do better than just a proven league 2 goalscorer.
Father Ted Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Imo Waghorn can be our striker down the centre of the forward 3. He would be ideal for it. He can play off the last man, has pace and most importantly, he can hold the ball up, thats what we need. Anybody remember his goal against Doncaster a couple of seasons back on a wet cold Tuesday night? No reason why he couldnt do that every week.
accessory Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Vassell's suspension after his idiotic challenge at Cov might give Waggy some more opportunities. Hope he'll be able to take them and force his way into Sven's plans.
dannythefox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 just saying.... How anyone can say he's not good enough is beyond me.
wurmer Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 How anyone can say he's not good enough is beyond me. Too inconsistent.
dannythefox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Too inconsistent. How can you say that after last season when he never really had a good run in the team?
sphericalfox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 How can you say that after last season when he never really had a good run in the team? That'll be the reason he didn't get a good run in the team. Some people forget that decisions are usually not made just with the game time they get and what they do with it. Clearly he's not banging them in in training either.
