Charlton and West Ham have cancelled their games. Palace is in doubt. Utter ***** of the lowest order (yobs, not those teams).

Copycat riots in Brum, Nottingham and, oh, what's that you say? Bristol??? Nah you're mistaken. Bristol's much more wonderful than Leicester so couldn't happen there surely? There's druggies and plenty of ethnic minorities in Leicester and it's a dump, surely they're the ones that'll start it first.

Starting to see racist comments in certain places now...one friend on Facebook commented "They're all bloody black, not a white face among them".

Hmm i'm sure there are all races and colours involved...don't see why people want to single out any group of people. Should have known people would come out with ignorant comments like that at some point.

Show these muppets who's got the bigger stick and show them who's prepared to use it! Get the Army in, rubber bullets job done. They'll soon scurry off back to their little rat holes. The parents of the KIDS out there should be ashamed of themselves!!

No way can the police handle conflict on this scale. It's got absolutely nothing to do with protesting someone's death, nothing to do with any anti government issue. It's just pure bollocks from the scum of society.

Anyone of the morons on the street would be the first to moan if after a night out on the riot, they came home to find their own house ransacked and vandalised.

agree with everything you say .they are the lowest ot the low but what really ****s me off why do they hide there faces under scarfs and hoods if they are so hard. get them on there own and there ****ing weak and not so big. letsknow see what the goverment do know as you said there is only one option the army

Do we really live in a time where there is such an incredible level of 'ostrich syndrome'?

Banking crisis - everyone who bothered to educate themselves knew what was going on - and while it worked it was overlooked.

Hacking scandal - everyone who bothered to educate themselves knew what was going on - and while it worked it was overlooked.

Riots - everyone who bothered to educate themselves knew what was going on - and how fragile society is.

Honestly people - do you not realise that we are only ever 72 hours from anarchy? Cut off the fuel/supply chain and see how quickly all those around you decend to the very same depths that these rioters have.

It doesn't take much for it all to come tumbling down.

Looks like civilization is still a long way away

About 40 vehicles were damaged in a night of violence in Nottingham described by one senior officer as "motivated" by the London riots.

Most of the incidents happened in the St Ann's area but police foiled an attempt to break into the Victoria Centre in the city centre.

About 30 people were involved in the trouble which broke out at 23:30 BST and lasted about three hours.

A 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were arrested.

'Thuggish criminality'

More than 100 officers were deployed when the trouble began but no injuries were reported.

A police station was attacked, windows were smashed and about 40 vehicles were damaged in St Ann's.

A container of 200 tyres was also set on fire in Gowthorne Street, New Basford.

Nottinghamshire Police Assistant Chief Constable Paul Scarrott said: "What provoked a night of serious disorder is not clear, but I can only assume that a mindless minority may have somehow, and perversely, felt motivated by the appalling events in London in the last few days.

"Throughout the night officers have put themselves in harm's way to protect the people of this city and their property in what was a fast-moving and dynamic situation.

"But let me be plain. What happened last night has no justification. It was mindless, thuggish criminality, nothing more, nothing less."

'Culprits on CCTV'

Police said the trouble began when a group of about 30 people threw missiles at a marked police car in Abbotsford Drive in St Ann's.

Officers said the group then went to the city centre and tried to break into JD Sports in the Victoria Centre.

A car was stolen and driven into 10 other cars in Pym Street in St Ann's. Cars were also damaged in Kelham Green and Luther Close.

Police said culprits had been caught on CCTV and further arrests were expected.

Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol also saw violence after a third night of rioting in London.
