lcfcsnow Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Great news, can't be doing with Alledyce and his teams.
One Arm Babba Posted 7 August 2011 Author Posted 7 August 2011 luvvly jubbly 3pts ahead of the hammers alreasy.
HEGGSY Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Put this in the championship 11/12 thread just before the game Fancy cardiff to nick it 1-0 miller to score [/quote Actually got lucky with my prediction
ramboacdc Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 as per the fans boo....jesus i hate that on the first game!
Happy Fox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Did you smash Cardiff 4-0 like you were expecting , welcome to the championship West Ham
Basingstoke Fox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Hoped for Cardiff to win if any because West Ham should be more of a threat. So...
Corky Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Cardiff looked a decent side. Bad start for West Ham considering they were at home.
ajthefox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Good win for Cardiff, there won't be many teams getting a win at Upton Park thats for sure. Can't believe some home fans were already booing, absolutely tragic.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Don't mind WH as such, but I did have a chuckle when Baadiff scored even though I generally can't stand the Welsh. I'd like this to be more than a minor set back but I don't think it will be.
Corky Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 The expectation at West Ham is huge, an opening day home defeat isn't going to be lightly tolerated is it?
MikeyT Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 The expectation at West Ham is huge, an opening day home defeat isn't going to be lightly tolerated is it? True, but booing at the end of the very first game of 46 is a little over the top.
Father Ted Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 I expect West Ham to leak goals like mad this season. Their defence will simply not be good enough over the season. Never rated Tomkins at all. But then again they have quite possibly 3 of the best, if not the best players in the division in Nolan, Parker and Taylor.
Number 6 Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 That booing can only be seen by us as a good thing though? Will be pressure building before they manage that first win, glad we managed to do it at the first time of asking and really shows you shouldn't underestimate the value of a 1-0 away win at Cov.
Corky Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 I agree that it is premature to be booing, but when that goal went in it was hardly unexpected.

Fox92 Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 I know its only the first game, but West Ham didn't look that good, and as always, Allardyce is playing boring, long football, hence he played 1 up front. Cardiff looked good throughout though. Some people on here doubted Cardiff's chances but I thought they looked alright. That young lad who won the ball back prior to the ball looked good, but Green should have saved it. An England goalkeeper

Absolutely, the amount of pre-season favourites that lost or drew was quite incredible.
RowlattsFox Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 I thought West Ham looked very poor, even during the first 20mins where people say they looked good. Taylor was their only decent player and only one who looked like doing anything, Parker didn't look interested and Nolan did nothing. Cardiff were tidy, they'll be up there I reckon but Miller and Earnshaw were shit (Miller rescued by a decent goal). A team like West Ham need a good start, confidence is low and atmosphere is tense when they're losing.
Wymsey Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 That new French striker of Cardiff's looked a handful at times. I rate that Adam Matthews as well. Good game. West Ham probably would've won if Carew was on the side with Cole.
FoxyPV Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Everything WHU do goes through Parker. They'll be ****ed if he leaves. Glad to see Big Sam lose. Cvnt
ramboacdc Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 in a sort of related matter bayern munich just lost 1-0 to muchengladback(thats my attempt at spelling it) at home in their opening game of the season. their fans didnt boo and they are one of the favourites for the title. i dont get why they boo on the first game of the season.
Salieri Posted 7 August 2011 Posted 7 August 2011 Dull game and although it's early days I didn't see anything we need to be worried about in West Ham. They're sure to lose Parker and will certainly be weaker for it. Cardiff, despite losing a lot of key players, impressed me today.
