Maynard

I'm new to this site and have only registered today so bear with me.....

I'm seeeing a lot of posts like 'this is the most complicated transfer ever' etc etc. Just out of interest how many of the people saying stuff like this have actually been involved in a football transfer? How many of you ACTUALLY know whats involved in sorting it not to mention all the media stuff etc etc.

So I ask the question if you dont know EXACTLY whats involved in a transfer, how on earth can you judge whether this is complicated or not? Have you ever sat at your desk at work knowing full well that the person on the other end of the phone is thinking 'how hard can it be?' and quite literally wanting to smack them in the face for being so condescending?

How about we use this forum for its purpose of sharing info that is of interest rather than slagging off the very people who are trying to make it happen, I dont for 1 minute believe that they are choosing to drag anything out.

It was I who raised the point about it seeming like the most complicated transfer ever but I was meaning to be more rhetorical in venting my frustration to be fair. An earlier poster did hit the nail on the head though with the problem being Twitter, for example Akinbyi probably took the same amount of time as Maynard but you may have got one rumor on ceefax days before the transfer was completed so less time to suffer all this mental torture. (although Wolves probably couldn't believe their look  )

We are entering a new era in media communication via the Internet and I hope that we adapt better to this in future as the Maynard saga has been no good for a lot of us.

I think it's fair to say that this transfer has not been as straight forward as other ones though.

Very reassuring!

Suppose it's a good job I wasn't trying to reassure anyone then. It was simply an opinion that was posted within a bigger comment. Like I said before I'm new to this so apologies if I'm posting irrelevant stuff. Il get the hang of it eventually.

I welcome your opinions - welcome although I've not been posting long - I'm sure most of the long termers welcome you too!! NB I agree with your post!

Don't worry, mate, just post what you want, as long as it is relevant. Don't worry about sarcasm, either, as it's the norm. on here.

Is that dripping with sarcasm, or has mind been twisted to believe all statements/posts are meant to be taken in a disparaging tone. Is your thumbs up and winkey face indicative of pish retrieval? I can't tell any more.

He's definitely starting..

Sven REALLY needs to move on from this one and sort something else out before the deadline - can someone please close this thread, or I will flood it with pictures of people riding pigs...

Doesn't mean it's not happening. The word has been nothing happening til next week anyway.

Player starts for clubs he's contracted to shocker!

Nasri started for Arsenal against Liverpool last Sunday and half way through the week he became a Man City player. I would say him not playing in the cup on Wednesday is more of an indication that he might be off somewhere, as leaving him out stops him being cup tied.

Brizzle might be resigned to losing Maynard, but maybe they're hoping for some excuse to keep hold of him - i.e. an injury that means they cannot sell him even if they wanted to.

Give it till Wednesday, just because he's playing today it means nothing. Absolutely gutted we've missed out on Le Fondre for 350k !!! We're gonna regret that this season! Putting twenty quid right now on him being top scorer in the championship !!

do YOU think its been straight forward then ???

supposedly 3-4 bids, talks of add ons, other players involved and seems were still not sorted it..

Exactly what I ws trying to say. I'm as desperate to see Maynard in a city shirt as everyone on here but I bet I'm not as desperate as Sven and Top!

One thing I will say (now I have cooled down !) is that I do understand everyone is frustrated especially after losing out on all the other striker targets we have had.

On a positive note, I genuinely think we will get Maynard. No inside info just genuinely believe it.

Are sven and top really that desperate?? wouldnt they have upped the offer long time ago if they was??

Phew!! That's saved us wasting 6-7million!! Maynard off injured - possibly hamstring. No thanks mate - too injury prone. Move on Sven lets get a decent premier loan in after window shuts.
