Corky Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 i was at work with just bbc.co.uk to check , according to that we never had a shot second half , is that right ? Danns had a shot over, Gallagher wide near the end.
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I'm pretty sure I have seen you along with the likes of Thracian etc moan about Sven trying to defend leads previously by bringing on more defensive minded players, now he brings on an attack minded player to try and continue taking the game to them and he's being blamed for doing that. ? Nope not me... Defensive players make sense when defending a lead, in most circumstances anyway. And you were flinching at the introduction of gally today yourself.. We spoke about it during the game?
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 i was at work with just bbc.co.uk to check , according to that we never had a shot second half , is that right ? we did but not many, Sven just went defensive, well it looked like he did
Yojoe36 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Apparently the BBC Radio Nottingham commentator said Kasper booted the ball into the stands Biased c***
purpleronnie Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 racism = you used to be english you used to be english etc Astonishing in this day and age you get people who either believe that or are just willing to go along with it.
Callabinho Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 What was the racist chanting? I wasn't at the game as i'm on holiday Several fans on the walk home were despicable, "team full of n******"! Around kids too! Mindless ignorant scum.
accessory Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Apparently the BBC Radio Nottingham commentator said Kasper booted the ball into the stands Biased c*** If he said that he's a lying scumbag. TV footage clearly showed Kasper throwing the ball back to the halfway line. Their equaliser shouldn't have stood either. Boateng climbed all over Konchesky before reaching the ball.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Astonishing in this day and age you get people who either believe that or are just willing to go along with it. Have you ever been to Nottingham? When you fly to America, you set your watch back six hours. In Nottingham, you set it back three decades. Bigotry from Forest fans is rife in my experience. As soon as I tell them I'm from Leicester, the stock response is 'you can't be, you're white' as though it's a hilarious joke.
Aeropars Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Anyone needing the hilights can ge thtem in french here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPswZX1Av1c&sns=fb Couldn't care less this was agains forest. Sickener against any team. I have no idea how the ref could give the peno as theres no way it could have been intentional. Mills was trying to get back to his feet! The ref should be ashamed of himself and i hope tonight he watches the hilights and realises his mistake. Second goal though, there was no excuse. Weale far to forward in his goal to attempt coming for the cross. Only ourselves to blame on the end. When down to 10 and so close to the end you play safe.
shen Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I didn't think we sat back today at all, indeed we had opportunities to get into dangerous areas in the second half. I'm sorry but... what?! So Wellens basically doubling as a center half was just me having visions ?
Corky Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I'm sorry but... what?! So Wellens basically doubling as a center half was just me having visions ? Alright, maybe not "at all", but I've seen far worse examples of using sitting back and holding on to what we've got. The problem was we gave possession away too cheaply which forced us back.
Father Ted Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Several fans on the walk home were despicable, "team full of n******"! Around kids too! Mindless ignorant scum. Who was singing that? Leicester or Forest fans?
ozleicester Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Who was singing that? Leicester or Forest fans? I didnt hear that... but a few of our "lads" were loud of voice in singing songs full of swearing and offensive language on the way back to the car. Dont think we can take a holier than thou stance about support...embarrassing to be honest
Thracian Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 we did but not many, Sven just went defensive, well it looked like he did It's even illustrated in the video- two banks of four sitting, one just outside the box and the other 10/15 yards ahead of them. Any other closing down was just token and we're not tight enough to prevent crosses - look at the one which led to their second goal, the crosser is left totally unchallenged. It's tactical suicide.
Guest MattP Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Not sure what to say. We can't even win a game at the minute where the opposition give us two goals. Kasper was a twat, the pen has been given, leave the player alone, then if he scores, leave the fcuking ball Let them take it and run it back. Very very frustrating. We have played four shit teams this season and got 4 points.

Dont think we can take a holier than thou stance about support...embarrassing to be honest Songs full of swearing... whatever next... The Forest scum fans were pathetic after the match. A leicester fan was with a young lad, maybe 5 or 6 years old and some Forest fan was just mouthing off all sorts of abuse at this guy - who was not wearing colours but his son was! His son looked terrified! And as every year,.. Forest fans don't sing in the ground, then get out of it and they're singing as if they've won the European Cup again. One day they will get it coming to them. West Ham next week I believe... would love to see them mouthing off to their fans like they did to ours today and I can see a few Forest pubs getting smashed to bits.
Guest MattP Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Not sure about that. The only 'easy' game that we definitely should have won was Brizzle at home. Hope you are right but I think Coventry are relegation fodder, Reading have only picked up 1 point outside of us. I'd be surprised if any of the teams we have played so far finishing top 8.

I'd be surprised if any of the teams we have played so far finishing top 8. Coventry away is never easy, although they definitely won't finish top half, let alone top 8. Reading are a good side, and seem to be a bit of a bogey side for us, they could finish fairly high. Forest, I don't think will do too well this season, but again, our record at the City ground is pretty poor. The bottom line is, we have started slowly but signs today show we are beginning to find our feet and when we do, we will be a match for anyone in this league.
MC Prussian Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Going to disagree here Prussian. We were under pressure and Schmeichel had to make two saves to keep us 2-0 up. We couldn't get ball away from our half, because we hoofed it away and lost possession to easily.F"*wst had to add pressure in front of their home crowd, but we had it all under control. We were cruising, without having to really do much.It all went well up until that comical event in our penalty box that saw Mills and Schmeichel booked in the space of ten seconds. The referee changed the whole dynamics (intentionally?). As for Weale, he just proved again what a liability that he is. He knows what the Championship is like, he has played at the City Ground before, he's supposed to play it safe. We were two minutes away from a great win at F*"3wst and what does he do - he can't judge the cross properly, puts himself in the wrong position and flaps it! That's textbook Weale for you. There wasn't really a lot wrong with today's squad. The team can hold their heads up high, they've worked their socks off, the 4-4-2 works so much better, they gave it all and in the end had to succumb to forces outside their powers. Only Schmeichel will probably have to look at today's game as a lesson learnt. Kasper - English referees are mostly self-centered, so don't give them any more opportunities to shine (their balding heads in the sun). Weale however... Whenever I think he's made amends for the cock-ups in the past and as much as I want to like the guy, he comes up with yet another atrocious howler. We need a replacement for our Number Two between the sticks. Or let him go out on loan. I just don't want to see Weale in a City shirt for a while.
General Smuts Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Not sure why people are confused as to Nugent getting subbed. He looked frustrated and uninterested for the 10 or so inutes before getting subbed. I even called it before it happened. Bringing on Gally was more or less like for like. His only other option was Schlupp who is young and more or less untested.

Raw Dykes Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Although we were hardly comfortable in the second half, I think it's pretty safe to say we would have got the win had it not been for the shit ref. F*rest were throwing everything they had at us, but we didn't look in any real danger until the dodgy penalty and the dodgy sending off.
marbelladave Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Evening all, got home a couple of hours ago to find that Mrs M had made Beef Wellingtons for a supper. Cracked a nice bottle of red and sat down to a very good meal, rude not to........ Anyway, a bit later than usual my summary of the game - Once again the team looked decent on paper, back 5 set up as expected, midfield diamond with Wellens at the base, Fernandez on the right, Danns left and King in the hole behind Vassel and Nugent. City were pretty dominant in the first 10 - 12 minutes, virtually all the play in the Forest half. Wellens stayed deep, not that involved, Fernandez was very energetic on the right, well supported by Peltier whose presence allowed Fernandez to play a bit narrower, looked a good combination. In contrast Danns stayed quite wide, he was getting support from Konchesky, but the full back rarely got past him as Peltier was doing on the other side. Again, a reasonably effective pairing which would be improved if Konchesky can be persuaded to stop hitting hopeful balls into the box from 40+ yards. Then just as Forest started to get into the game, Fernandez closed down his man just inside their half, won the ball and drove through the inside right channel, drawing Camp then squaring for Nugent to score. A few moments later some good play on the left between Danns and Nugent let Danns in on the angle, his shot is cleared off the line but driven in by Fernandez. Two nill and City are cruising, pretty much in control, one decent save from Schmeichel and a missed header was pretty much the limit of Forests aggression. Second half was all change, typical City, they sat back and invited Forest on, which they gladly accepted, but despite this Forest didn't really look like getting back into the game. The big turning point was around the hour mark, Nugent and Vassell were tiring badly and there was no one holding the ball up for us, Gallagher was brought on for the hobbling Nugent but was way off the pace and provided no forward threat. With nothing happening for City up front, the Forest defence started to push out and suddenly without really upping their game they were dominant. Despite the pressure City still looked odds on to survive, then the penalty, complete nonsense I thought. Mills went up to challenge for a header about 6 - 8 yards out, he came down off balance and went down onto his hands and knees looking away from the ball, the ball just gently rolling towards Schmeichel hit his arm and leg, there wasn't a Forest player in attendance. Despite being completely unintentional the ref gave a penalty. The City players were incensed, not just going through the motions but genuinely very upset. Several players made their feelings known to the ref and Mills and then Schmeichel was booked. McGugan scored well and then, as the Forest players converged on the net and the ball, Schmeichel grabbed the ball and hurled it upfield. A fit of pique certainly but a second yellow card was way over the top unless something very nasty was said, which I did not see. With City down to ten, Weale in goal and the ref clearly on their side, Forest just went for it. City still looked like they might hang on, but a flighted cross was misjudged by Weale allowing Boateng to score at the far post, and that was pretty much it. We let Forest back in the game by sitting back second half but the crucial, turning point of the game came first from the hopelessly misjudged substitution of Gallagher for Nugent, then from the referee, an awful decision gifting Forest a totally undeserved penalty. Then the cards as the City players reacted badly to what really was a really terrible decision and that was it, game over, gutted.
lcfc_jme Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Don't post here very often anymore, but the way I see it is as follows.. We were as comfortable and assured as I've ever seen us at the City Ground today - and I've seen us win there after giving them a 1-0 headstart - for 80 minutes of the game. Fair enough we didn't get a 3rd and kill the game completely, but until we went down to 10 men, Forest never even remotely looked like having a shot, let alone scoring a fvcking goal (yes, they scored a goal whilst 11v11 from the spot, funny fvckers). Whilst we didn't create a wealth of chances, we never looked troubled and appeared threatening every time we went forward. In my honest and humble opinion, 2 minutes of the utmost farcical refereeing madness (a common theme against us) has cost us a piece of history and 2 thoroughly deserved points. Can't really fault any of our starting XI today, all of them were absolutely superb. Gallagher looked pointless once he came on, Yuki was far from involved and Chris Weale must take a portion of the blame for the equaliser for his non-existant efforts in claiming the floating cross over his 6-yard line. Final thoughts: We'll never play as well as that at their place, probably won't have a better chance to win at their place and break the hoodoo, we ALWAYS get shit refs and it's seriously beyond a joke, and Forest fans are a fvcking embarrassment trying to start fights both on the way to the pub and actually in the pub - nice one, boys.
