Forest Post Match

Fair enough. But you're blaming him for what happened today????!?!! how can you possibly be serious.

My point is what decent goalkeepers are going to want to sit on the bench all season unless the goalie is sent off or injured? Especially in the championship.

Name some????

He obviously doesn't want to sit on the bench, like all players don't want to, what has that got to do with Weale being a liability?

And yes, I am being serious, he came out and flapped at a simple cross leading to Boateng having a free header.

I think every ref is going to have it in for us this season. He's single handedly cost us the points, for what was a great performance from us for 75 minutes.

First half was everything that we'd expect from the lads, second we knew they'd come out all guns blazing. We were standing up to it well and looking fairly dangerous on the counter. Everyone had a pretty decent game bar Konchesky.... On the bright side (if you can look at it that way!) we've not lost, played very well and scored twice away from home. I'm gutted we've not lost because we played them off the park, certainly deserved to win.

That's the worst Forest side we've came across in a good few years.

Just out of interest why do people think we were cheated, didnt the goalkeeper kick the ball away?

the way i see it the ref made three decisions that cost us the points, or at least made an unfair difference to the result...

1. to give a peno for handball was very harsh, mills was on his hands and knees and the ball rolled into his arm... i'd say ball to hand for sure. the fact that KS immediately gathered the ball made it even crueler, clearly it was nothing that prevented a goalscoring chance.

2. never is it good for the game for a player to be sent off for kicking the ball away, it wasn't too clear quite which direction the ball went but i thought he just threw it away up the field as would be natural for a keeper who has just conceded a rather cruel peno to do - again, does the punishment fit the crime?

3. their equalizer - 9 times out of 10 that would have been a defensive free kick, how it was allowed to stand is beyond me, i get the feeling that the ref wanted an easy life and did want a lynching from forest fans.

i can accept that a ref has an influence on most games, but the cataloged events here suggest that forest getting a point was more to do with the ref than how either of the teams played.

That said, in the period before the peno, i thought we gave forest way too much time and space, and i can't help feeling that they might have got something, but there's no way they deserved the amount of help the ref ultimately provided.

gutted.

although this feels bad at the minute, i feel far more optimistic than i did last saturday after the reading match. if we continue to improve this much in a week we will soon be flying :scarf:

The plus side is that that was a vastly improved performance over the Reading and Bristol City games, and I certainly feel a lot more confident that we will start to gel nicely. The last 10 minutes were a kick in the teeth but the man who turned a win into a draw was wearing neither red nor blue. I daresay the quality of the performance will leave the players feeling a lot more confident for the visit of Southampton. They're in great form but their run will stop some time, and a hurt, angry Leicester City may be just the team to do it.

I have to laugh at the guys suggesting Sven got his substitutions wrong. It was all working fine until the referee decided to turn the tide single-cardedly. Sven didn't have a choice after the calls.

I knew it wouldn't work out well with Weale in goal when I saw him prepping up in the wrong corner before the free-kick that led to the equalizer.

However, we look much better playing 4-4-2. And I have hope for the game against Southampton.

It's about time I cheered up, it's only four games another 42 to go and today showed improvement, we looked like we could score and we looked fairly solid. We could play worse this season and win comfortably.

Once the anger subsides there will be numerous positives to take from this. Nuge starting to bang em in. Some kind of real formation, which worked! We were a threat for the first time this season. Bring on the saints.

Except that's not gonna happen is it? The most likely scenario is that we lose 2-0 at home to Southampton without offering anything to the game, and everyone'll be saying 'what happened to the team that played the first half last week?!' Cos that's just what it's all like at the moment.

I'd have taken a point at forest any day a week ago.

Ref can go suck on one, but if we can replicate that performance at home we'll be on the up.

UTF, let's climb the table a game at a time. :scarf:

And 4 games in, we're only one point behind what Sousa got us in 9. Could be worse, guys!

Going to disagree here Prussian. We were under pressure and Schmeichel had to make two saves to keep us 2-0 up. We couldn't get ball away from our half, because we hoofed it away and lost possession to easily.

Just got back from the match and i gota say im dissapointed by the results but im happy with the performance of the team.. the first half was brilliant.. second half we invited the pressure by not holding the ball but all in all im not gona complain about any player.

I think people are saying that kasper through the ball away in "dissent" but when you look at most keepers they kick the ball away when they conceed and never get booked, kasper himself kicks the ball away in frustration everytime we conceed a goal in previous games yet has not been booked once for it.. this time he through it away and in my opinion it was nothing really made something by the ref... if kasper wanted to time waste or seriously show some dissent he would have kicked the ball into the stands like he normally does.

Shame about the result but they played some bloody good football and im looking forward to seeing it more and more often as the players get to know one another better.. bring on forest at the king power stadium, we'll spank em good n propper!!!

One thing we know is that 4-4-2 diamond is probably the formation for us and that's probably our best line-up. Pantsil/ Peltier will be a hard choice and unless King get's involved in more games as soon as Mchael Johnson is fit he will be straight into the starting XI.

Yeah, our hoofball was getting terrible, our midfield had completely lost its grip and McGugan was running the show and with Nuge gone & Gally strangely in his place we were always going to concede

We need to play for 90mins, but today was much better as we actually bothered to play for 60 which is something positive to build on
