Manwell Pablo Posted 30 April 2013 Posted 30 April 2013 Thought it was a bit suspect when that lad got cut off due to technical difficulties just seconds after listing 'Konchelski' as one of our young inexperienced players. It's just the kind of stupidity you just don't get anywhere else
Grewks Posted 30 April 2013 Posted 30 April 2013 Gary Neville was saying the same the other day, going on about how we need to clamp down on diving but then saying you're entitled to go down if you feel a touch. Which brings me to Tony Pulis, who is totally ok with cheating and diving unless it's done by the opposition. Bit off topic, but Neville is the only pundit who actually talks sense, shame he does not want to manage as he speaks a lot of sense. And to be fair, Neville is right. Diving only occurs when a player is not touched, if he is touched he may make the contact more dramatic, but it is not a dive.

That comment was from November but what the hey.. I do like Neville as a pundit, in fact he stands head and shoulders above most on TV. But he is wrong there. You do not have an entitlement to go down and fake being tripped up. It is not a foul unless there is significant contact to impede you. Being touched in the back and then throwing yourself to the floor is diving, because it is not a natural fall. Making the contact more dramatic, if that includes falling over, is diving. And, pedantics aside, it's plain wrong in the spirit of the game. Him condoning it is not on.
ScouseFox Posted 30 April 2013 Posted 30 April 2013 When we'd just scored vs Palace to equalise Youngy went mad celebrating and a few moments later Zaha had a cross/shot (not sure really) and Kasper saved/caught it and Youngy got so confused he told us that Louis Saha had an effort seen off by Peter Schmeichel. Classic stuff.
LCFCCHRIS Posted 30 April 2013 Posted 30 April 2013 I would rathr have alan young & stringer than some boring impartial commentators
Danno Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 "he keeps the ball like a piece of chewing gum attatched to his toes"
The Horse's Mouth Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 , I love them just because of some of the stuff they come out with
Tommy G Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Young never ever disagrees with anything stringer said! Or he will never slate lcfc in case he gets in trouble with the club
Matt Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I can just about stick Stringer, albeit he does ask some stupid question to Pearson and no wonder he get's the response/attitude from Pearson, but I really cannot fucking stand Alan Young, he makes me want to take a hammer to the radio.
KFS Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 I can just about stick Stringer, albeit he does ask some stupid question to Pearson and no wonder he get's the response/attitude from Pearson, but I really cannot fucking stand Alan Young, he makes me want to take a hammer to the radio.This.
Matt Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 "SHIT REFS, WE ALWAYS GET SHIT REFS, WE ALWAYS GET SHIT REFS. WE ALWAYS GET SHIT REFS" [Leicester City fans in the background.] Ian Stringer: "The Leicester City fans just chanting David Nugent's name"
StanSP Posted 3 August 2013 Posted 3 August 2013 Alan Young - 'Vardy's holding his elbow. You shouldn't hit someone on the head with your elbow, then.' Stringer was also trying to get Young to say, 'Well done, ref' but it took Young about half an hour to say it .
Rhysm Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 Classic after match conversation Alan Young: "Fans really should not be booing the team at half time" Caller: "How else are fans supposed to express their frustrations?" Alan Young "By not saying anything" Yeah that'll work!
Kitchandro Posted 24 August 2013 Posted 24 August 2013 In fairness the booing today was uncalled for. Obviously it was born out of frustration but the players worked hard and weren't particularly poor.
OzFox Posted 25 August 2013 Posted 25 August 2013 I'm sure I heard Alan Young say after the second goal that Andy King has "the touch of a fairy" I assume he meant it as a compliment
StanSP Posted 25 August 2013 Posted 25 August 2013 After the referee's incompetence today and at a point where we were awarded a free-kick, Young said 'It's a free kick Ian! You ever seen one of those?!' Not the best, but Youngy got quite ecstatic about it
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 25 August 2013 Posted 25 August 2013 Stringer said "the leicester fans are urging the team to get into them Alan". Shame Alan didn't reply that they were being urged to **** them up as well!
Jimmy Posted 25 August 2013 Posted 25 August 2013 Alan Young is a bloody moron, I get really fed up of his obvious bias against Knockaert the second he does something wrong he hammers him yet says nothing about the likes of Drinkwater
RonnieTodger Posted 25 August 2013 Posted 25 August 2013 Does anyone else think that Young is like a biased kid? It always seems to him that we're the best in the league and we have the god-given right to win every game. Also, whenever we get a decision go against us, he'll go mad but if the opposition don't get a penalty he'll say "It wasn't a penalty, because the referee said it wasn't a penalty, Ian". I like him, but he really can grate if you listen too much.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 25 August 2013 Posted 25 August 2013 Alan Young: "illd like to see the supporters in the ground 30minutes before kick off, singing & dancing. The players will be saying ill have a bit of this"
21st Century Fox Posted 25 August 2013 Posted 25 August 2013 I still swear I heard Young say "You don't win games with tactics" during the Derby match.
StanSP Posted 25 August 2013 Posted 25 August 2013 Alan Young is a bloody moron, I get really fed up of his obvious bias against Knockaert the second he does something wrong he hammers him yet says nothing about the likes of Drinkwater What annoys me more about the Knockaert/Young thing is the double-standards. Much like some of our fans with certain players. On their backs virtually all game but as soon as something goes right for that certain player they're up their arse and it's as if they've never slated them. I just think that Youngy is the kind of man who likes the physical, rough and tumble kind of football, and not the 'flicky-dicky' stuff as he likes to call it, which is why he rarely takes a liking to whatever Knockaert does.
StanSP Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Stringer has pissed me off more than Youngy for once! On the penalty just then. 'Vardy, in to the 18-yard box, takes a dive...penalty all day long!' I mean wtf?! And earlier he was questioning James' being at the ground tonight but not being in the squad. So what?!
