Corky Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 I do see the complaints about the style away from home, but Sven saw us last year conceding far too regularly and needed to sort it out. It's not pretty but it might be a good thing in the long run.
Sk4 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Still unbeaten in the League away from home , a great defensive display , the forwards will start to chip in they will want to back up the defensive displays .
ScouseFox Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Decent. Not great going forward it seems, but I'd rather draw 0-0 that lose 4-3 or 3-2 etc. Solid. Need to see what's what with the injuries to Beckford, Johnson, Wellens? before Saturday, where a win is necessary.
Orkneyfox Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 That's why there was a ? Twat!! [http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e4/Twatt_Orkney_Road_Sign.JPG
crisp packet Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Good point 1st time 3 consecutive clean sheets since oct 2009 Roll on sat!
21st Century Fox Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 We've neutered a few form teams so far, I'd take a point tonight. Like someone else said we're continuing the unbeaten run and stopping a rival getting 3 points.
Phube Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Why were you questioning then? Beat 2 of the form teams and drew against 2....... Maybe for a discussion... on a football forum... maybe!!
lcfcsnow Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 2 games away against arguably two of the best sides in the league and no goals conceded... Not at all can't see neither Boro or Cardiff getting automatic. Sven hasn't bought enough attacking options, plain and simple. We have no winger to use on the counter away, you don't score you don't go up.
acooling08 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Decent enough but 1 goal in 3 is a bit worrying.
Callabinho Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Good point, It's a marathon not a sprint and so far we are conserving our energy well! Roll on the Rams!
sdb Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Decent result, but nothing to shout about. Like it or not, our squad on paper is/should be so strong we win most games. Another clean sheet is really pleasing though...
Number 6 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 The arguement that we won't win all of our home games is countered by the fact that we will win some of our away games.
Happy Fox Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 The pressure is all on Saturday now, I would have preferred a win today, but beggars cannot be choosers, so we can beat those sheep shaggers
samuel Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 What a load of *****..... A point against Boro is a right result.......Numpties!!!
CKB Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Positives: Clean sheet again Negatives: No goal and Beckford injured
Finchy Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 We've played Brighton, Southampton, Boro and Cardiff. All in the top 6. Won 2 at home, drawn 2 away. Brilliant results. When you compare our fixture list to Derby's, we're only 6 points behind them and just about everyone they've played is in the bottom third of the table. Don't start thinking we're doing badly because we're not where they are. Ridiculously lucky start to the season for them in terms of fixtures, complete opposite for us.
Legend_in_blue Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Once we have Beckford and Nugent as our front two, we will become unstoppable. As things are, we are chipping away against these so-called top teams and they can't beat us. This league is there for the taking.
Grewks Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Look we have to be realistic, we had a poor start to the season but are now unbeaten in a while, just like many other teams we need that run of around 8 wins in 10 games, thatll sort the men out from the boys. Our fans need to be buzzing and up for it at away games, not 'oh we havent scored yet' after the first half. Us and West ham are the Man Utd of the championship. Everyone wants to beat us so we have to just carry on picking up the points here and there. You cannot target games and say oh we need 3 points at barnsley cos we might not get any at boro. This is the championship the most unpredictable league in the world, I would take a draw against derby (local derby but still same amount of points) as long as we won the next couple away.
One Arm Babba Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Happy with a point at boro. draw away and win at home is the way forward. if we beat Derby thats 3 home wins and 3 away draws in our last 6.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Defence is sorted because they've now got a few games together under their belt. However, the strike partnership, don't think we've played the same forward line more than twice this season. Get Beckford and Nugent on together and familiar with each other - tasty! Who's punching Sven on RL?
CKB Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 I was hoping the Nugent and Beckford partnership might start on Saturday but with Beckford injured now it may have to wait... What is the latest on Beckford?
Criggers Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 I think the thing people forget is that it wasn't just some bollocks when everyone was saying we needed to "Gel". It really was going to take a few games to settle in. We had two poor results at home to Reading and Bristol but other than that we've come away OK from most games. Apart from those games the only other really disappointing result has been Barnsley away because we played so shite. This unbeaten run will count for nothing if we don't beat Derby though. Especially when the next game is two weeks after that. Away to what I expect will be a desperate to get going Brum. I'm half expecting to see a 4-3-3 on Sat depending on what is happening with Beckford.
somebum Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 'A great point at one of the best teams in the league' How the mighty have fallen when pre-season delusions of grandeur have been replaced with giant sighs of relief to have escaped from that great mighty Northern fortress known as 'The Riverside' with a point.
21st Century Fox Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 A Beckford/Nugent strike partnership has the potential to be the best in the league, lets not start pulling our hair out till our best possible line-up has had a chance to shine.
