leicesterisme Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 ok princess! (most people on here think your a bell end bert, so take princess on the chin) i'm out of here! ciao main! Love Dog x The only bellend is you lloyld.
Vlad the Fox Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 He's no Franz Carr. Your right there. His crosses don't clear the opposite stand.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Like Dyer, though the scoring stat as previously said is wrong. He is a decent player at this level but nothing special.
Salieri Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Your right there. His crosses don't clear the opposite stand. Exactly. And we all know this is tantamount to effective wing play.
Dr The Singh Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 ok princess! (most people on here think your a bell end bert, so take princess on the chin) i'm out of here! ciao main! Love Dog x I think you will fond most of all people find each other bellends on this site, so that's nothing spectacular, what is though is the Bert is still dating the same girl who obviously love the Singh. That show character and courage, my friend!!!
JmorsonLCFC Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 played amazing today, well done lloyd. more effective on the right because he's the only one of our players that can cut in!
marbelladave Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 As we were away from home, neither of our fullbacks got forward as much as they did last weel and both Dyer and Gallagher played deeper more defensive roles too. We had no one to hit when we got possession so most of the balls went long, to no discernable effect. After the substitution we went 4-3-3 which opened the game up and it was at this point, just as we were beginning to get back into things that Pompey scored a deflected goal, unlucky. We continued to press and got the equaliser, the 4-3-3 was looking quite good but it didn't last. Pompey pushed Dyer and Nugent backwards which left Danns trying to support an increasingly isolated Howard. Dyer looked dead on his feet for the last ten minutes and confined himself to largely defensive work, all in all a fighting second half and a deserved point. We really should have taken all three but given what NFP has to work with I will give him a break on this occassion.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 The thing about Dyer is that he can change a game and be so effective with the simplest of things: pace. He doesn't need to think about how to beat a man or offer anything other than his pace to be worth his place in the team. I doubt there's a player quicker than Dyer in the league and every full back must dread facing him because they know that with a simple push and go he can leave them for dead. He's not the best on the ball but he doesn't need to be, there have been so many occasions when he's shanked a goal in. What with his interview earlier this season about loving it at Leicester and his ability to put the shitters up the opposition, I'm more than happy for Lloyd to be featuring regularly. Think he got a pretty bad deal under Sven.

Happy Fox Posted 26 November 2011 Posted 26 November 2011 Dyer is not good enough at all he has pace but his final product is somewhat lacking, the sooner we get some decent wingers in the better NP knows this and he will address it come the January transfer window.

Think he got a pretty bad deal under Sven. I see what you're saying, but at the same time I disagree. Lloyd is quick and CAN have a great effect on games, every now and again. The fact remains though that his football ability is about the same as mine, and that's his good foot. His right foot would probably fall off if it made contact with the ball. Now I look at players like Max Gradel (and no I'm not going to say we should never have let him go) and think he is SO much better than Dyer. With the cash we've got we can do a lot better. If pace is Lloyd's only assett there are loads of players out there who we should be replacing him with. Until January he's our only winger and because of his pace he probably should play. But I don't think he's good enough in the long run.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 They did once incorrectly do my shirt as Llyod Dyer but your spelling is definitely worse. I remember the pics you posted....funny as feck!!!
Marmite Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Played really well today, we have missed his flair and passion this season
liamsm Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 It is the truth we need better wingers if we are to challenge for promotion. " It is the truth we need better wingers if we are to challenge for promotion. " Please explain, he is so fast a lot of teams double mark him, it's not his fault the other forwards are not fast enough to be there when he crosses so he has to hold the play up until they arrive and there are not many fast players that are good at holding play up as they tend to be slightly built and get nudged of the ball easier. IMO
Earlydoorsjones Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 I am all about respecting a plurality of opinion, so I am going to take this seriously... The debate: Dyer aint good enough. Arguments for (arguments against) He does tire towards the end of 90 minutes (but so would Lynford Christy if he had to do the 100m for that length of time) He sometimes lacks a goal creating final ball (the final ball is something most players could reflect upon and have another go at, but we get to see more of our players and get to micro analyse them; still more dangerous crosses please Lloyd) He has pace but first touch and dribbling could be better (he is not Messi, granted, but if he were, he would be playing at a MUCH higher level... and defenders will mark skill all day - pace is what puts the fear up the Maldini's of this world) He lacks conviction and the mentality to 'uproot trees' (he is not one of our more determined players, true). Other considerations: We see more of Dyer's faults because he is our player - I bet you Reading fans know more about Kebe's flaws than we do. Our problem is that we get to see a player twice a season and think that he plays like that for every game. He came to us on a free and has been a good servant for our Club. We have lost nothing with Dyer and have only gained. He has contributed some important goals, and a winger/wide midfielder that can score more than 5 a season is an asset if they assist as well. Until David Silver or Ronaldo (or Kebe) join our club, Dyer will continue to play the left wing and make us a more balanced team (remember our midfield with out width - I will never forget Birmingham away under Sven). He can play on the right and cut inside - providing the team with another dimension. Lets not forget, we are not playing FIFA or Football manager on our computers when we talk about this or that player being crap. We cant just "get Kebe" and solve our problems. In the real world that Leicester City play in, money does not buy promotion - remember Derby in the early 90's??? Or us right now!!! I think you can tell, I am in favour of Dyer. He provides width, the team plays better with wingers and it gives us more options than a flat midfield 4 or a diamond. All players bring something to the team and have their weaknesses. Who is better in out current squad at playing on the left and right flank than Dyer and Gally??? Dyer does not get the final ball in as the 23,000 watching would always like, but why is he there and not watching? Why have the moaners not got a professional career? Because it is bloody tough to even get there let alone perform at the top every week. Dyer has got lots of attributes that make him a professional footballer at a pretty decent level. If he had the end product every time, and had the 95 minute stamina and had the mentality to take on every lost cause, and had the first touch of Chris Waddle he would be playing for Bloody England, and we would be moaning about him then cause they are a load of crap half the time. My point of view is...yes, lets speculate about ways to improve the team, but in that respect, lets dream about a better forward line up than Nugent and Beckford, or a better midfield duo (I wand Cleaverley and Davis back), or better full backs (Naughton and a player like a 27 year old Chrissy P please) or a better central defensive partnership (could we get that French-African bloke from Blackburn in?). I watched my first City game in 1984, but only started to understand football late on in Pleat's era or the start of Little's reign. The whole ethos of the club back then was buy a player for 30,000 and make him play out of his skin so that he performed beyond his price tag. Steve Thompson optimised this mentality. Nowadays we have gone the other way and buy really expensive players that fall short of their valuation. Dyer cost us nothing and had given us far more than we have paid for. If more players could deliver that... Good on you Lloyd!
Fox92 Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Sven is the one that brought no wingers... Nigel has to work with what he has.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 Earlydoorsjones post above is one of the best I've read in a long time I agree with all of it
LCFC BEAST Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 I don't see any other Leicester players who have scored against Real Madrid...

Good on you Lloyd! - And for all Dyer's "variable" final ball I've lost count of the situations he's created which only needed a touch in by someone attacking the six-yard box but we hadn't got those people. It happened yesterday the same as ever - with Young referring to the fact that while Mattock couldn't keep up with Dyer neither could our own attackers on one particular run.
jamesmilner Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 you can tell after a short while if lloyd is going to be penetrable of a defense !
flowwolf Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 How many times did he come on as sub under Swede head and change the game . Good player needs more starting places though.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 November 2011 Posted 27 November 2011 earlydoorsjones, best post of thread so far +1
