Simo86 Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 John Percy @John__Percy #NFFC have rejected a 500k bid from #LCFC for Wes Morgan. Don't think this will be the end of the matter though..
Fox92 Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 I do think he is a good defender. But, I question why we are going for him. Does this confirm St. Ledger is leaving, and also maybe another defender?

Babylon Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Is this the spot the mystery wind up thread ? If so you have succeed , for a minute you had me seriously thinking we would be interested in a defensive player from a bottom of the league side. I don't know you guys what you like.   Well we signed one from Preston when they got relegated.
Fox92 Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 In my opinion, it doesn't matter if the club got/get relegated and then we sign their centre half. Many clubs have done it before. Footballer's can be good player's even if they get relegated with a club.
jimmer Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 If this does go ahead, it must mean st Ledger is finished here, cant see us needing five first team CB's! I imagine Pearson said to Shaun on tues night, go out there and get interest from a decent club? either that or someone else is on the way? I would be happy with Morgan though, absolute BEAST.

Not saying I love the signing but he is solid and for that money it's not a bad signing at all
Ric Flair Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Oh god so this is actually happening? SSL's future must be bleak, such a shame. He was superb on Tuesday and highlighted how comfortable he is on the ball, something we badly need at the back as Mills often struggles with that side of the game and Bamba is erratic.
goose2010 Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 isnt he injured?? i think it will be the end of tunchev rather than SSL
Master Fox Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 I remember watching him thinking he was a bit like Frank Sinclair
THEFATBASTARD Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 think this is a done deal, the rejection is the clubs attempt to say to forest fans "we did the best deal we could".. he ain't 10 times worse than mills ...no downside at these prices..
Happy Fox Posted 20 January 2012 Author Posted 20 January 2012 One CB is on the way, my bet is hedged on either Bamba or Tunch
ibbosuk Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 SSL needs to play because of the Euro's, but he will be in the same position when Bamba gets back, he knows that, so nothing has really changed. So what about a straight swap ? SSL OUT Morgan IN OR Blackburn were sniffing around Bamba, could he be off to Blackburn for a tidy sum, IF they end up selling Samba ?
80footgiraffe Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 One CB is on the way, my bet is hedged on either Bamba or Tunch I doubt that considering he signed a new deal recently. SSL on loan to someone imo. This is basically a done deal btw lads.

cc_star Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 One CB is on the way, my bet is hedged on either Bamba or Tunch Not sure I think he's had a look at Tunch, has he been exceptional? Not so sure. Seems to be Mills + 1, not sure if that's solely down to his ability (previous or otherwise) or if it's down to his transfer fee, captaincy & maybe wages. Mills + Bamba hasn't been the best partnership regardless of how good (& sometimes bad) they are individually, I'm not sure Bamba will be a good partner for anyone, lovely footballing individual but must be a nightmare to play with. For me Mills+SSL with Tunch+Morgan as backup has a solid look about it. I know we don't need the money, but we'll make a handsome profit after furthering Bamba's career. It'd be a shame if Bamba was to leave because he's exciting, but it's not as big a shame as watching our defence always leave people unmarked & always look likely to concede when he's playing.

Totally agree with you with what your saying, if Bamba does go, it may be benefit the defense in the long term.

DarkTranquillity Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7443660/? Forest confirm Morgan bid Sounds like the bid hasn't been rejected, just hints that its not quite enough.
Sods Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 To me it sounds that he will be offered another contract by forest if he rejects he will leave.
Happy Fox Posted 20 January 2012 Author Posted 20 January 2012 To me it sounds that he will be offered another contract by forest if he rejects he will leave. Of course he is going to reject it, why would he want to stay at shite club that is going down.
EnderbyFox Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Of course he is going to reject it, why would he want to stay at shite club that is going down. Because it is a club that he has been at for the past 10 years so may actually really like it there?
Stevosevic Posted 20 January 2012 Posted 20 January 2012 Can't imagine he would want to come here to be honest. Place of birth Nottingham, England Youth career 1998–2002 Nottingham Forest Years Team Apps† (Gls)† 2002– Nottingham Forest 348 (12)
