bluesbrothers Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 Well, for the second time in a row I'm left gutted and a little shell-shocked by the latest instalment of the LCFC history books. It seems to me that, at the moment, everything is conspiring against us. Refereeing decisions, missed oppurtunities, injuries and 50-50 moments all seem to go the other way right now. And yet, in an odd way, it makes me proud to be a Leicester fan. Case in point, the Middlesborough game. Backs to the wall, manager sent to the stands thanks to Twattin Ward, said referee making sure the ball hasnt been kicked until he's shat on everybody in a blue jersey. Face it guys - we felt like underdogs that night. Fast forward to yesterday, and yes, the result was gutting, but again, the circumstances were exceptional. We gave as good as we got despite being a man down for half an hour, and were simply stretched too much in the end. To have been down to 8 by the close, and still battling for a point was admirable. We were the underdogs, again. Now look at the table people. We're stuck in mid-table obscurity, and can't get the momentum going. Pundits still talk as if we're the god-given owners of the Championship title. That's gone, face it. Now we need to show some bottle and play each match as if it were a cup final. For the rest of the season, for every match, we are the underdogs. And I'm glad. Don't give me what we could have done, tell me what we could still do. There's a choice now - either throw everything into a play-off push and hope for the best, or try for cup glory and consolidate for next season. Personally, I'd choose the latter now. Either way, we're massive underdogs, and it's going to be a bumpy, but no doubt exciting ride. 'scuse me while I go put Kasabian on.
Matt Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 We've had some bad luck in the last couple of games and things have changed matches which have been out of our hands but feeling sorry for ourselves will get us nowhere. Don't get me wrong getting players and managers sent of doesn't help us, it does make it harder for us however it seems when a referee makes a bad decision we just give up, our excuse has been made for us, the referee lost us the game - Wrong, get on with it, fight harder, prove a point to the referee and opposition.
flowwolf Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 Ah well there's always next year. That's what keeps us going , hope springs eternal and lets face it as Leicester fans hope is all we ever live on. Keep the faith ? think next year I will keep my season ticket money instead.

purpleronnie Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 Don't make yourself feel worse by listening to kasabian.
MattyFromLE Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 Just seen the sending off on FLS. They've said if was abusive language, i assume Beckford has given the diving willy puller a right mouthful within earshot of the Lino. On twitter, Stringer said the ref told him that Beckford kicked out. Hmmmm. I think we've been done again boys.
MrFox781 Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 Let's get behind the lads on saturday. it's simply a must win. I know this team is good enough to beat anyone in this league home or away. we just got to take it game by game from NOW and play like we know they can. 17 games left seasons never over till it's mathematically imposible. Lets get behind them next saturday.
Fox92 Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 Ah well there's always next year. That's what keeps us going We will all be saying that forever....

Beckford was fractionally late on a challenge, which the linesman either didn't see, or judged to be insignificant, as he didn't raise his flag. The Brighton player stayed down, as if mortally wounded, and Beckford had words with him. It was the type of exchange that happens dozens of times in each professional game. Why the linesman felt it necessary to draw the ref's attention to this one is something only he can explain. Unless there was some type of racial or homophobic element (and in such circumstances the ref should say so immediately after the game) there was no justification whatsoever for Beckford to be sent off. Some managers (Ferguson, MON, Mourinho) can use such incidents to build a siege mentality among their players and use this to drive them towards success. Whether NP is able to do so remains to be seen.

Reminded me of Leicester City of Filbert Street times a little. I personally wasn't there but would have been if i could have afforded it. Support sounded great and was gutted that we've become used to feeling hard done to by the man in black.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 What does it for me is that we just dont get penalites. I know other clubs will say this but we have only had two all season. There was another blatant one missed yesterday, and there have been others that should have been given, e.g. vs Pompey at home and West Ham away. The one yesterday was blatant, but we dont get them.
FuriousFox46 Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 At least Forest and Derby are wrong. Somebody does hate us, the Football League.
Corky Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 Almost Churchillian. God bless you Sir. More Birchenallian. Y'know.

I know it was last season but am I wrong in thinking we had 3 or 4 in a row last season? In both cup and league games? Actually it may have been the season before the last.
Happy Fox Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 This is it well done sir , get this stuck on the dressing room door.

Actually it may have been the season before the last. It was last season, we got liek 5 in 6 games from November to Xmas. But at the moment we arent getting them, whatever we do, we are being robbed. I know we cant say for sure, but we see all of these dodgy pens given in the Prem and you could bet that we would never get them. Dont ever get dodgy pens, let alone a normal penalty.

Loads of bad decisions Wednesday against boro but we didn't give up?
