Corky Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Having been born in Dunfermline and kept up support of the Pars since moving to England I should try and defend the team somewhat, but they really have been spectacularly dire this season. Doesn't help that Rangers going into admin means we might lose out on £80,000 worth of gate receipts that they owe us... I'm sure they are a great club, with loyal supporters, and wonderful staff behind the scenes.
Jimothy Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Rab C Nesbitt to take over the club. It's even worse, it could be Mandaric! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4135558/Milan-Mandaric-I-want-to-buy-Rangers.html
MC Prussian Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 I think liquidation's a realistic option. The owners will be eyeing a small L2/L3 club as in the Airdrie > Clydebank > Airdrie Utd precedent set ten years ago. The realistic target might be Queens Park, conveniently based in Glasgow. They could change the club colours and club name, and get dispensation to move the home games to Hampden, whilst some rich sucker lends them the money to build a new stadium. Plus ça change. Queen's Park FC, the only good football team in the Glasgow area. Sadly, they've never made it big in recent years. Hope this changes now. I like their kit.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Milan Mandaric interested in buying crisis-hit club Rangers Former Portsmouth and current Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric is interested in buying Rangers. The administrators revealed on Thursday they had already heard from parties interested in the crisis-hit club. And BBC Scotland has learned the Serbian - last week cleared of two counts of tax evasion - is one of those to have contacted Duff and Phelps. Mandaric, who has also been in charge at Leicester, took over at Hillsborough 11 months ago . More to follow.
purpleronnie Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 People actually think rangers could be liquidated? No chance.
Happy Fox Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Does Mandy get Kicks out of doing this sort of thing, making out like he is a good guy?
bluesbrothers Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 See the strangers slumped to a crap home defeat today in front of a sell-out crowd. Relegation Fodder! Pah! I myself have an affinity for Falkirk in Scot Div 1. Based purely on the dubious fact that many years back, when with my dad on a van delivery up to Grangemouth, we ended up asking one of the groundsmen for directions. Couldnt understand a word he said, but friendly chap. That's a proper footy club, people. Does Mandy get Kicks out of doing this sort of thing, making out like he is a good guy? Saved us from going to the wall, mate.
Daggers Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Saved us from going to the wall, mate. Can't believe guff like this is still being trotted out. The club wasn't going to the wall it would simply have had to continually grow players for sale and exist at a lower level, within its means.
Jordan Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 The irony of Milan Mandaric buying a tax-dodging club... Can't believe guff like this is still being trotted out. The club wasn't going to the wall it would simply have had to continually grow players for sale and exist at a lower level, within its means. Amen.

Corky Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Saved us from going to the wall, mate. Led us to League One.
Raj Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Top 4(Read upwards!!!!) Celtic Rangers Motherwell Hearts
Happy Fox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Greg Wylde and Celik have left the club with 3 further players wanting to leave as well.
Mack Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 They just rang and asked me to turn out for them this weekend. I told them... Get in the queue... Ibstock United are offering more money and a better standard of Football!
Leicfox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Greg Wylde and Celik have left the club with 3 further players wanting to leave as well. Both wingers I think and both really good prospects, I'd probably take both on. Definitely Wylde though.
Narborough_fox Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 As a Rangers follower it makes me saddened to see this sort of thing but football needs something like this happen to a really big club and maybe Rangers might be the one that changes how people spend their money. Craig Whyte is one of the dodgiest men around which shows how good the fit and proper persons test is for a new owner. Really hope Rangers pull through it but it is a joke that any club should get into this sort of situation. Would accept Gregg Wylde every day. Brilliant, brilliant prospect!
Daggers Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 I don't want to see them go to the wall - I want to see them playing on a hillside with a shed in front of 50 fans as they take on the likes of Dalbeattie Star FC and Nithsdale Wanderers every week.
Jimmy Posted 6 March 2012 Posted 6 March 2012 Gregg Wylde is supposed to be a quality young winger and has just left on voluntary redundancy, we should get him down to train and see if he's any good, 2 proper left wingers competing for the spot
Ultra Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 I don't want to see them go to the wall - I want to see them playing on a hillside with a shed in front of 50 fans as they take on the likes of Dalbeattie Star FC and Nithsdale Wanderers every week. And I'm sure that the SFA and Alex Salmond will be perfectly content to let that happen..
Daggers Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 And I'm sure that the SFA and Alex Salmond will be perfectly content to let that happen.. Out of interest, and totally off topic, what makes you decide when to post as Ultra and when to post as accessory?

Lovejoy Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 Thought Greg Wyldes words were very refreshing when he said he wanted to help the staff at the club supporting families who needed the money more than him. Came across as very genuine.
Mack Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 The players money demands are driving Rangers into liquidation.... nice!
Daggers Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 See?Now no one suspects that I am in fact both of them
