cc_star Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Morgan played well today, he was obviously picked because Mills has been bossed by big forwards and was a good selection by NP, he's done way more than enough to hang on to his place too Wellens showed how to be a captain too, very vocal & very supportive. Couldn't care less what Mills does, really couldn't give 2 fecks, as long as it doesn't affect anyone else in the dressing room
Yojoe36 Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Very interesting. First SSL has a strop. Then everyone starts to love him again. Now Mills?
Matt Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Dont see why he would do this after just 1 game? Unless he's been stripped of the captaincy. That is just pure spectulation from me - not even a rumour. TBH he's not a captain is he?!
rico Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 he has to get on the team coach stil so where would he walk to perhaps he wanted a seat at the front
Ian W LCFC Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Unless he's been stripped of the captaincy. That is just pure spectulation from me - not even a rumour. TBH he's not a captain is he?! Maybe good guess!
Webbo Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Unless he's been stripped of the captaincy. That is just pure spectulation from me - not even a rumour. TBH he's not a captain is he?! Why would Pearson do that just after a good win? If he was going to do that he'd wait until Monday surely? People are putting 2 and 2 together and making 16.
Guesty Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Can't really say much till we find out the full facts. We were all slagging off St Ledger a few weeks ago when he chucked his toys out his pram. Now hes one of our best defenders. I'd rather he be annoyed than not care at all. Edit: this is in response to him storming out. I know that djwanker is in the know and what he says is probably correct.
Guest shearfox Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Pearson's man management is pretty good got SSL playing well and Beckford looks like a new player fantastic stuff...
The People's Hero Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Knowing who djwanker is - he would have the contacts to be in the know. You can pretty much take is at gospel that NP does not rate Matt Mills. I'm in two minds about Mills. He makes plenty of brave blocks and last ditch challenges, but they are often to recover his own mistakes. His positional play is okay on set plays etc but in open play he tends to switch off and just end up a yard or so the wrong side or in no man's land. I don't think he's an awful defender but a lot has been expected of him due to his pricetag and he simply is not a £5.5 million player. Alright as a rotational player, where we are not up against a target man, but to be honest, that is most weeks in the championship and his ego won't see him be a benchwarmer. Hes also too prone to dissent, needless yellows and reds and does not seem to be a good captain. Would not be disappointed to see him leave, but equally I do think he is an asset, I just can't see him accepting the role which is most suitable for him.

IF it is because of that I think he should have earnt it in the first place. Whilst wellens isnt the best footballer at LCFC, he is a captain due to his experience, vocals, discipline (sometimes) and overall performance over the past few seasons. and has shown dedication to this football club.
Guest parky0607 Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Why would Pearson do that just after a good win? If he was going to do that he'd wait until Monday surely? People are putting 2 and 2 together and making 16. To be fair, he did say he was only speculating, not drawing conclusions
Captain... Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 It all depends on how you interpret the OPs comment, NP doesn't rate Mills could mean, he doesn't think he should be an automatic starter and wasn't worth 5 million and isn't really captain material, but then we all know that too. It could mean he thinks he is a big o' shite and should be kicked out the club. Can you elaborate Mr willy puller?
Webbo Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 To be fair, he did say he was only speculating, not drawing conclusions DJwanker is a good source, not questioning his bit but all this storming out business, maybe he dropped his watch down the toilet or his yankee went down. I can't believe we're actually discussing it.
Grewks Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Just a reply to the topic title - I dont Either !
anglodan Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Very interesting. First SSL has a strop. Then everyone starts to love him again. Now Mills? Not really sure if 'strop' is fair. He was objective in his argument that he needed to play games to get into the Euro 2012 squad. I'd have done the same in his place. And it worked out well in the end. Nice to have a CB with a bit of passion
cc_star Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 NP doesn't rate Mills? I know the OP is ITK, but all the evidence up to now contradicts it, unless something has changed Let's not forget there was blood on the floor & player transfer listed because NP brought Mills back into the team & reaffirmed his position as club captain (which IMO is a farce) NP has also played Mills 100% of the time he's been available and possibly was only dropped today because NP knew he wouldn't be able to handle Grant Holt So as much as I don't rate Mills I think NP does... or did.
sharpie Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 anyone with half a football brain can see mills has not been performing, maybe not the club for him will prob go elsewhere and do well but u cant defend his performances in recent weeks/months
Fox 4 Life Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Wes Morgan was class today, we literally have 4 starting cb's and after today it's hard to look past ssl and big wes
dedlock Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Whether or not he rates Mills NFP has 'wielded the axe' as promised in the Merc.Next ,get rid of the inconsistent performances.Today was hopefully the first step.
Corky Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Many more performances like that and St Ledger/Morgan will be the preferred combination. But Mills may still have a part to play.
sharpie Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 i would put bamba in front of wes, best defender we have got mills well down pecking order, about time
Happy Fox Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Mills and Bamba are going to find it hard to get into the side but that is what having competition is all about, it is a good thing.
sharpie Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Mills was dropped today who has been captain for most of the season, i think this is a massive statement ?? what do you think?
