Happy Fox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Elaborate a bit mate.. Nugent has been by far and away our best goalscorer and is up there in the list of Championship goal scorers. It could be that Prem league sides may well look at him, or the clubs who come down this season. Kasper has already been linked with Prem Clubs. Not rocket science Happy? Yes you have a point, but which prem clubs would gamble on Nugent, he is a top championship player nothing more than that imo, Kasper may well attract prem teams but he seems to be happy here. Both players are better off staying here and helping us get promotion whether it happens this season or next.
Jace Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 I see no reason why Nugent and Schmeichel would leave. Because Premiership clubs may want to sign them common Happy Fox switch on!
Out Foxed Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Leeds have **** all money so i doubt they'll buy him in the summer, we're paying most of his wages so that doesn't help us there. It must be purely to get him out so the remaining four can be a cohesive unit and not upset by a potentially (buzzword for the season) "toxic" atmosphere.
Happy Fox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Because Premiership clubs may want to sign them common Happy Fox switch on! Nugent no one in the prem would gamble on him, only teams relegated perhaps Wigan would be interested etc, Kasper aint ready for the prem imo, he is better off staying here for another year or two and helping us get promoted.

Not so much that Leeds can buy him, but more so he's in the shop window for other clubs to have a look at him. Just means he's not sitting around dropping in value.
yorksfox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 The guy was unfortunate in that he cost so much in the first place - not just the fee but the wages....crazy! His performances have been pretty dire from what I've seen and the two red cards both fully justified and costly to the team. Add to that whatever has been going on in the background and it seems that once again Pearson has made the correct decision. If he does well at Leeds then he can either be recalled or at least the club will hopefully find someone to offer a million or two for him. I agree that quite a few of Sven's signings have been good. However, Peltier was far from the best right back in L1 last year and will always cost a few goals with his poor positional sense. Nugent was on a free but probably very high wages. Konchesky fairly steady. Danns very inconsistent and with Beckford who knows? His one very good signing has been Scmeichel with Nugent looking a good bet, too. As for the rest there's nothing there that improves on what was already in place before.
Matt Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 All these people saying they want him to stay because he's a Leicester fan...Does that mean I can play and people wouldn't mind - Bearing in mind i'm fucking awful.
Callabinho Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 I just don't think Leicester is for him. Morgan Bamba and St Ledger are all better than him, I just hope we don't loan him to Leeds. Remember D.J Nige?
cc_star Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Just speaking to Gwyn Williams. Matt Mills deal looks unlikely. All was agreed, but he won't move until spoken to Pearson. Cont #lufc #lcfc

Remember D.J Nige? Pearson sanctioned DJ's loan move out to Derby, not to a rival like Blackpool... It wasn't Pearson who loaned him to a rival who ended up promoted, apparently NP felt undermined by this decision, perhaps contributed to him leaving along with all the other bullshit that happened at the time.

cc_star Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 BertLcfc @BertLcfc Reply Retweeted Favorite · Open Matt Mills has completed his loan move to Leeds Great, great news! Lets hope for a couple of reds & associated suspensions letting them down just like he did us, hopefully his marking-up continues to be woeful too and he can be as indifferent for them as he was for us.

dannythefox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 I hope he gets a straight red the first game and gets a 5 match ban I would piss myself!

Is he actually a Leicester fan though? Or just a follower? I think that's a myth that was created when he said he had family in Leicester. Happy to be proven wrong if he did say it.
Jace Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Sounds like Matt Mills has spoken to Pearson then!
bluesbrothers Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Some of the same defensive co-ordination that had previously kept clean sheets, one bad game is what alot of people were looking for to jump on his back, we seem to just love to hate our players when they had a poor game... Southampton wasnt a one off the guy has ability, bad attitude perhaps but ability all the same. We need to look at the bigger picture sometimes.. I'm never one to get on player's backs, and I agree that Mills posesses some good ability. But in this situation, he was rightfully dropped after a dismal performance, and the sounds coming out of the press suggest that he threw his toys out of the pram big time. Unlike SSL, who bucked his ideas up and fought for a place, Mills seems to have sulked and let the price tag go to his head. The people I am getting on the backs of, and I feel rightly so, are people on this forum who are berating Pearson for this decision when we have a back pairing in SSL and Morgan who are more than doing the business, and cover in Bamba and, on a good day, Tunch. That's 4 defenders that, between them, cost roughly the same as Mills alone. Pearson out just for figuring out our clubs biggest waste of wonga since Akinbadbuy? Get a grip, folks. Everybody needs to fight for their place, and Mills seems to have in his head that he's above that just because he cost a few quid. That's poison to team morale if ever I heard one, and I for one would be perfectly happy not to see him play for us again. It's Bullard at Hull all over again - he's a good player, but one who simply does not work with Pearson's ethic. We don't need Mills.

Happy to be proven wrong if he did say it. Not sure, just keep reading people saying 'I would like him to stay as he's a Leicester fan.' And....?
Jace Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Do William Hill take bets on wherever Mills will be decent or not at Leeds because if they do I will put £20 on he will
Daggers Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Matches would be better if half the current lot of City fans would just fvck off - don't need one more idiot on the pitch.
demon_dog Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Sounds like Matt Mills has spoken to Pearson then! I imagine the conversation went something like this; Pearson 's wife " It's Matt Mills on the phone for you darling" Pearson "Tell him to Feck off I'm busy" Wife to Mills " Nigel say's Feck off" Mills " Oh ! OK."
L4EV Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 just out of interest, is Schmeichel the captain now?
ajthefox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 I don't really know what to think of this. Maybe it's all a ploy.... Leeds get loaned our "star" centre back. They go from strength to strength, and secure 3rd spot in the league with a game to go. We sit level on points with Hull but outside the play-offs on goal difference. We go into the last game of the season against Leeds and Mills gets accidentally injured and has to come off. We go on to win, Hull lose thanks to 3 own goals from Agent Fryatt and we sneak the play-offs. Mills says his injury is minor and plays in Leeds' semi guiding them to a close fought win over Blackpool, who are then distraught and go bust. Hollowhead gets declared insane and is put in an asylum as a result. We lose to Cardiff 1-0 at home to a Peter Whittingham free kick in our semi and everyone moans about NP being too defensive. We go to Cardiff and smash them for 6 with Waggy getting a cameo hat-trick in the last 10 minutes after returning from Hull. Whiny bitch fans admit Pearson was right. Michael Chopra bitterly insults Bernie on the train home. Bernie does not like this and proceeds to beat him within an inch of his smug life whilst hurling abuse at him. Play-off final day comes and Mills' injury strikes again except this time it's serious, he has to have his leg removed. No more hoofball for him. We go on to beat Leeds comfortably and the Blue Army take over Wembley. ....it could happen. The most unlikely thing is Waggy scoring.
