Guest ttfn Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Schmeichel 4 - What a time to have his worst game in a Leicester shirt! Looked shaky from the first few minutes when he should have come to collect some crosses or through-balls and didn't. Good distribution by hand, less so by foot. Could have done better with at least 2 of the goals. St. Ledger 5 - Given the run-around by Kalou, who is by no means a great player (albeit far better than any of ours!) Morgan 4 - Repeatedly needed to get rid of the ball sooner than he did, and got caught in possession a couple of times. We played a suicidally high line and that was never going to play to big Wes' strengths. Bamba 5 - See Morgan, but his pace bailed us out a couple of times, especially in the first half. Konchesky 4.5 - As with Schmeichel, this was possibly his worst game in a City shirt. Didn't do much with the ball, and was roasted by Sturridge all afternoon. Gallagher 2 - At one point he won a corner, so he can have a couple of points for that. His set-piece delivery was honking. The first bounced twice before being cleared by the first man, the second was an outswinger which finally reached head height about 15 yards from goal and the third was also cleared by the first man at shin height. Unacceptable in a game in which the quality of our set pieces was paramount. Wellens 5 - Terrible first half. Must have completed less than half of his passes and was being brushed off it. Second half he looked more up for it, played far more sensible passes and put in a couple of good challenges. Danns 8 - Excellent; this was the culmination of six weeks of solid improvement. First name on the teamsheet at the moment. Dyer 4 - Intermittently effective on the wing, he is hopeless in the centre. Moving him inside was a complete clanger from Pearson. Nugent 6.5 - Poor first half, much better second, driving at Bosingwa and giving him a torrid time. Beckford 7 - Hid in the first half (although got a couple of shots in). Second half made some great runs and finished well when a chance came his way. Was unsurprised to see him celebrating by giving it the big "I am" when what we needed was to get on with the game. subs: Peltier 6 - Brought on to track Mata and did so well for the 2 minutes before Mata was taken off! Did better than St. Ledger at right back. Schlupp 5 - Ineffective. Marshall 7.5 - First contribution was to inexplicably miss the ball when well-placed on the counter-attack. Then scored a 25 yard screamer and put in a great cross under pressure. His best display for us so far.
L4EV Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Schmeichel - 4 St Ledger - 3 (not a RB) Bamba - 4 Morgan - 5 Konchesky - 5 Gallagher - 3 Wellens - 5 Danns - 8 Dyer - 5 Nugent - 6 Beckford - 7
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 From being at the game: Kasper 5 SSL 5 Bamba 5 Morgan 5 Konchesky 6 Gallagher 1 Pitiful. Disgraceful and shambolic display. Wellens 5 Danns 8 Dyer 6 Nugent 7 Beckford 7 Marshall 7 Schlupp 5 Peltier 6

cairnsy Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Schmeical: 4 - was at fault for the first goal and probs could have done better for torres' header from the corner. St ledger: 3 - Not a rightback - was made to look like a fool as kalou and mata constantly ran circles around him Bamba: 2 - Was to blame for 3 of the goals: 1st as he didnt mark Cahill, 2nd as he stayed forward despite morgan shouting for him to come back, and the 5th as he slipped Morgan: 6 - thought he had a decent game tbh Konchesky: 6 - tried hard but just had nothing in front of him to work with gallagher: 1 - never got in the game and his two corners were terrible wellens: 6 - worked extremly hard but wasn't given the time and space to work his usual magic Danns: 9 - thought he played a blinder, his sort of game today. Dyer: 4 - ineffective as he was covered by two very quick full backs Nugent: 7 - worked tirelessly and tried to make things happen Beckford: 8 - thought he had a really good game, looked a handful for all chelsea defenders despite the little service he got Peltier: 4 - meh didn't really do much Marshall: bit too late for a rating but what a finish Schlupp: 4 - didnt get involved much
cc_star Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Kasper - 4 - Weak on crosses, at fault for some goals, other weaknesses too. Didn't own his area SSL - 3 Feel sorry for him, worked in the week, but not today Morgan - 6 - Not too many positives on the scale we're used, but got a grip as game wore on, tried to direct Bamba too, but that's like herding cats Bamba - 2 - One of the worst performances from a 'defender' I've ever seen. His usual woeful marking on top of poor rest of game. Get rid & cash in. Konch - 4 - Weak by his standards, tried to make stuff happen going forward, complete neglect of defensive duties left Torres in acres of space constantly on the wing Gally - 3 - Was he injured from the start? Wellens - 7 - Grew as the game went on, weak first 20mins but some great balls down channels & simple passes in the remaining 70mins Danns - 8 - Our MotM Great performance after the first 20mins when Mata ran rings around our midfield. A beast for the rest of game tho Dyer - 6 - Constant threat, but poor passes Nuge - 6- Game of 2 halves, happy to be marked out the game for 1st half, not open for passes, much better in 2nd Beckford - 7 - Same as Nuge, was AWOL for 1st half, much better 2nd half, good goal & made stuff happen up front Peltier - 5 - Poor on right midfield, but settled the defence when he moved to RB Marshall - 7 - Mainly for the cracker of the goal, think he looks useful elsewhere though Schlupp - N/a I didn't see enough of him to rate him. My problem not his Nigel Pearson - 6 - Of all the games to play a high line, cost us dearly with the defence all over the place. Good positive subs at the right times too Officials - Didn't see anything wrong
Walshy5 Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Kasper 4 Worst game for LCFC St Ledger 5 Cant be to harsh because he's not a RB Morgan 4 Bring Back MILLS! Bombscare 3 GET RID NOW! when are people gona stop bumming him! Konchesky 4 Raped by Sturridge Gallagher 0 Doesnt even deserve a mark! Cant tackle cant head cant take a corner and pussys out of 50/50s everytime. Should be knowwhere near the 1st team Wellens 4 Decent effort but someone should have told him we wernt playing in blue today! Danns 8 Best of our players Dyer 5 Tried to take his man on Nugent 6.5 Good running Beckford 6.5 Extra point for his goal Schlupp 4 Done **** all Marshall 6 WHAT A GOAL! Hopefully that'll give him some confidance Peltier 6 Better than SSL Ive seen enough to suggest theres not one player in that team that could hack it in the prem and we'd probablly do worse than Derby 07/08
JimmyJam Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 From watching on tv: Kasper 4 - One of the worst displays of the season by him today, didn't command his area, thought he could do better with 3 of the goals , not the player we've had between the sticks all season. SSL 5 - Worked hard but caught out of position to many times Bamba 5 - Made some great runs out of defence but his positioning let him down today Morgan 5 - To slow but did the best he could today, still think we have made a good signing Konchesky 5 - Worked hard, made some great runs forward and tried to create when he could but his delivery from set pieces and passing was terrible today Gallagher 3 - Waste of space, no effort, poor passing, poor delivery, get rid of him!!!! Wellens 3 - Like Gallagher, needs to be moved on, he is a fringe player and should be warming the bench, if we are going to get promoted we won't do it with him in the middle. One of the worst players I have seen in a Leicester top in a long while Danns 10 - Pure Class today, worked hard, created, tracked back, a constant pain for chelsea, if we can find him a midfield partner (Drinkwater/King) we are laughing. What a signing he has been. Pearson is really getting the best out of him. Dyer 6 - Worked hard and when he had the opportunity to run at chelsea he did well. But like Gallagher and Wellens he is in my opinion not the answer to our wing problems. He is just a fill in until we get someone new. A great player to come off the bench but not sure we should be relying on him week in week out. Nugent 7 - Standard Nugent display, worked hard, created some chances, seemed to be everywhere today. Beckford 7 - Love the partnership him and Nugent have, seems to be playing for the badge a little bit more, gave the goal credit to Danns, looks for his team mates when he scores. If we can keep him and Nugent sweet we have one of the best strike duo's in the league for next season. Marshall 6 - Great Goal!!!!! Schlupp 5 - Never really got in the game Peltier 5 - Did a job, can he play left back?
Bert Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Kasper 4 - I'd be expecting my keeper to at least get close to any if their goals. Rushed his kicking a lot too. SSL 5 - stuck at his task well. Konch 5 - see SSL. Bamba 5 - what was he doing for their second? Morgan 5 - his lack of pace hindered him today. Dyer 4 - didn't look interested and was generally shit. Gally 4 - didn't have a great game. Wellens 6 - if he'd have got up and stopped moaning maybe their first goal gets prevented. Danns 8 - easily our best Player, stepped up to the plate. Nuge 6 - poor first half, got better as the game went on. Beckford 7 - another encouraging performance and acted in strikers instinct to score. Peltier 6 - got stuck in and never gave up. Marshall 6 - PING Schlupp 5 - ineffective.
eddylcfc Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Kasper - 4 Ssl - 3 Morgan - 5 Bamba - 2, shocking! Sell sell sell sell sell! Konch - 5 Gally - 2, Again sell! Danns - 8 superb Wellens - 6 slow with ball. Some good passing but lost his legs Dyer 6 - pace looked like it caused problems first half. Went missing 2nd because he was put on the right where he is less effective. Beckford - 6 Nuge - 5 Marshall - 7 great strike Jeff - N/A Pelts - 5
Guest NGoloMode Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Schmeichel 4 St. Ledger 4 Morgan 5 - Decent defending but too much time on the ball which doesn't look like a strength. Bamba 3 - Konchesky 5 - Good on the ball but Sturridge ripped him to shreds on occasions. Gallagher 3 - Poor Wellens 4 - I remember a few bad passes. Danns 7 - Playing really well recently. Dyer 6 - He was dangerous out on the wing then got moved into midfield and was very poor which was always going to be the case. Not got the touch of a midfield player Nugent 6 - Some decent runs with the ball. Caused Chelsea defence some problems. Beckford 6 - Didn't do much first half but looked lively second and got into some good positions and earned a goal. subs: Peltier 6 - Steady. Schlupp 3 - Nothing. Marshall 8 - Played a great pass across the pitch to the right wing and then scored a worldie.
kingfox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Schmeichel 5 - Poor goalkeeping at times, but he has still been our best player of the season St Ledger 4 - Got forward well at times, but defensive wise he got skinned poor performance Morgan 6 - Thought he was one of our better players, looked more steady than others Bamba 3 - Absolutely poor, all over the place Konchesky 5 - Up and down game, tough task against Sturridge at times Gallagher 2 - He is such a weak shit, he has the odd cameo, but most of the time he is shocking Wellens 6 - Gave it his best at times, not the best shift though Danns 7 - Such a trier, he deserves full credit today best player by a mile Dyer 5 - He will try all day long, had a chance and looked dangerous at times Nugent 6 - Woeful first half, but improved in second Beckford 6 - Dangerous at times, decent display
Finnegan Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Coach 20 bus driver: 0 - bloody lost in Twickenham.
RowlattsFox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Kasper -6- think people are being a little bit harsh. Distribution by hand was great Ssl -4- really struggled. Morgan -5- best of the defence but still struggled. Bamba -3- all over the place. Konchesky -5- good on ball but had a torrid time in defence. Gallagher -3- poor. Wellens -6- better 2nd half. Danns -8- energetic and strong performance Dyer -5- bar one run I thought he was poor Beckford -6.5- good finish Nugent -6.5- good second half Peltier -5- had no impact
nuttytimmy Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 We weren't bad, but Chelsea were brilliant. Conclusions from Stamford Bridge.
kingfox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Coach 20 bus driver: 0 - bloody lost in Twickenham. Haha, my mate went Chelsea last time for the Carling Cup game, didn't get back till 4 in the morning. He got entirely lost and ended up going round Big Ben 3 times. Went on the coach aswell.
Bryn Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Schmeichel 4 - Yeah, quite poor today, could definitely have done better with at least three of the goals. Good distribution though. St Ledger 4 - Worked hard, out of position, against superior opposition but they had the better of him. Morgan 5 - Probably the better defender on display but we were overrun regularly by their attack. Bamba 4 - Error prone. Konchesky 4 - Got forward willingly but Sturridge was skinning him left right and centre. Gallagher 4 - Didn't have a huge impact on the game, was involved in some of our better football first half but woeful set pieces, which is the main reason he is in the team. Wellens 6 - Quite busy in midfield and worked hard, him and Danns had little chance of getting control of the game against Chelsea's packed midfield but they both put in a good shift. Danns 7.5 - Stood out for us, another driving display. Our key midfielder, now he's been given chance to settle in, build the team around him next season. Dyer 5 - Busy but he lacks quality, he works his nuts off and gets in some fantastic positions but just needs too much time, and is one dimensional. Can still hold his head up, he always tries hard and is an effective player, those are just the facts and Chelsea were always going to know how to shackle him. Nugent 6 - Worked hard as ever and looked dangerous cutting in off the left in the second half, but obviously Chelsea by and large knew how to deal with him. Beckford 6 - Another busy display, a well taken goal, he gets himself in great positions, with a bit more composure and patience he can definitely hit 20 goals next season. Subs: Pelter 5 - Did a job, should have done better with a free header. Hope he doesn't take the fact that Pearson didn't really trust him to go right in at right back to heart. Marshall 6 - Super goal and looked like he could be an effective attacker in a central role of the strikers, he can go in any direction from there, has a cross and apparently has a hammer of a foot, just itching to peel some carrots. Schlupp 5 - Not really in the game. Pearson 7 - He gets the players motivated and that's half the fight... and changed the shape effectively. But I don't buy into this "don't change a winning team" business, I think you should balance that mantra with choosing players and a structure which will minimise the threat of the opposition (without completely sacrificing attacking threat, of course). We need to work on another shape in the summer, and bring in one or two players to give us more flexibility. 4-4-2 is never going to work against sides with quality in midfield, and numbers in midfield, and we're too predictable, and too easy to counter. This is why we're inconsistent; teams who can handle our 4-4-2 beat us, regardless of their quality. On our day we play super football, but too often we're either swept aside by better teams, or frustrated by sides who perhaps weren't favourites to win but simply set out to beat us tactically. That said, I don't think Pearson is oblivious to this fact, he just doesn't feel the squad has the options. I think he'll be looking at midfielders in the summer.
AKCJ Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Schmeichel - 3 - Didn't do enough for at least 3 of their goals. Not sure what happened for Torres' first but he just sort of fell over rather than dived to save it. SSL - 4 - Would have been a 3 but he's out of position. Didn't even beat Kalou in the air, you know you're playing shite when that happens. Bamba - 5 - No organisation, didn't know what to do. Morgan 6 - Did the best he could against Sturridge/Torres/Mata's pace. Konckeskey - 6- Relieved the pressure on the defence fairly well at times. No final ball or incisive runs though. Gallagher - 1 - Hopefully his last game in a City shirt. Honestly can't tell you what he brings to the game that any other player doesn't. Wellens - 5 - 3 first half but a 7 second. Second half he looked a touch better but looked back to what we saw earlier in the year. . Danns - 8 - Hallelujah. The only one up for it. I was worried when Drinkwater got injured because he was playing well. but since Danns has done really really well Dyer - 6 - No luck against Bertrand or Bosingwa (both pacy full backs) but had a couple of decent opportunities. Beckford - 7 - Got his customary Chelsea goal. Didn't do much else but forced Cech into a couple of good saves. He could have had a hatrick if he was clinical. Nugent - 8 - Out of position for most of the game but worked his socks off. No reward for it though. Peltier - 5 - Out of position. Looked shite against Essien (but who doesn't?) Schlupp - 5 - Forgot he was playing. Completely ineffective. Marshall - 6 - What a goal! He won't score many better in his career. Would start him over Gally any day.
Leicester Lass Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Wellens - 5 - 3 first half but a 7 second. Second half he looked a touch better but looked back to what we saw earlier in the year. -3+7=4, not 5.

reynard Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 How anyone can give any of the back five more than 4 is beyond me. We conceded five goals and were a complete shambles defensively at times.
AKCJ Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 -3+7=4, not 5. you what? I've gone in the middle. Surely not rocket science?
cc_star Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 How anyone can give any of the back five more than 4 is beyond me. We conceded five goals and were a complete shambles defensively at times. Morgan could be seen trying to get Bamba to: do this, mark him, watch out for him, go there, head that... He may as well have asked the Anfield Cat for all the good it did as the whole thing fell apart.
Fox92 Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 From the game, Stamford Bridge: Kasper 5 St Ledger 5 Bamba 4 Morgan 5 Konchesky 5 Gallagher 1 - He is a disgrace and how anyone can defend him is beyond me. Never rated him and wouldn't care if he left. Wellens 6 - Nice touch and passing, but slow, no pace. Can't blame him, time has caught up with him. Danns 7 Dyer 4 - Looked lost in my opinion. Nugent 6 - Chased everything as per. Beckford 5

We could have had a deep back four and been overrun anyway. We came with a positive intent but 2 down after 18 mins changes all tactics. Chelsea were never in need to hurry so could play their game. Peter S must have been slightly embarrassed by Kaspers performance between the sticks. Never got out for the crossings and didn´t dominate at all, and cost a couple and seemed very low key compared to previously. Gally was absolutely awful - why he was picked remains a mystery. Spectators awesome - repeat this at the KP please. In general we should be proud. Didn`t adopt the hedgehog tactics - full marks for that - think we can be proud of the performance - I mean one the the best teams in Europe?! Come on City - the Championship will be a doddle after this..........
