My name is Mark, and when I hear someone say “Mark Kermode” I think I am being told to go and use the chair with the little potty built into it .

The fact you actually know what a commode is shows you're old.

I’m sitting on it at my PC now :)

Nurse, I’m finished !! :chant:

I often think how computers were so much more useful when they had 5.25" floppy drives and no internet.

...and wistfully remember collating punch cards and rolling up balls of tape.

I now appear to produce 17 times the quantity of urine than when I was younger.

Also, I can not pass an item in Tesco without waving it about, to my wife or anyone else nearby, and loudly pointing out how much it used to cost.

Yesterday it was a bag of Jelly Babies for "half price". Of course it's fúcking half price - there's only three fùcking Jelly Babies in the bag.

And I can only eat things like Jelly Babies, a nice toffee would rip my mouth apart. Bah.

This true I believe. Came up in discussions Friday night. Vinyl records are making a comeback.

I still have quite a few. My stereo has a turntable. Although I don't listen to much music now.

Too much effort to set things up like turn the radio on or go through all my Cd's cassettes etc

and find something I still want to listen to. If I start head-banging to my old favourite rock stuff

I'm scared that I will crick my neck.

Perhaps for the hipster crowd. The rest of us appreciate the improved sound quality of digital recording and don't think that the faint buzzing and slight distortion of sounds adds 'warmth' to the music.

I'd love to see a mandatory excursion to Compton for all wannabe-gangstas.

I'm thinking gameshow. Battle Royale-style.

I'd have loved some of "da boiz in da hood" that I went to school with to take a trip to where you suggest.

"We can tek doze pussiols"

Any true plastic gangsta says 'da bwoiz.'

Yes maybe but someone mentioned youngsters asking their dad to fetch down the old record player from the attic. So its not all oldies.

Why do you hear Mark Kermode?... are you hearing things, or is your name Mark Kermode? :dunno:

He's a BBC film reviewer ( a bit like Barry Norman) and if they ever bring spitting images back I bet he'll be on the list

And to add, I've point blank refused to go out on a Friday for a good few months now because it's the end of a long week and I don't think I could physically cope. I don't even watch Friday night tv that often because I'd rather go to bed.

There a difference between getting old and just being a boring twat.
