Getting Old

When you go to a strip club and a girl asks you if you fancy super sex and you answer “soup please”

lol

On a related note my youngest is 14 today. :) That's when you know you're getting old.

****s sake - I'm a child of the 90's, yet I find myself agreeing with the Pubs > Clubs and modern music is poor comments. That is more than slightly depressing.

Actually that's a rare sign of common sense on your part.

Working as a teacher and being unable to understand some of the insults thrown around by the kids.

Sket I just about understand, but what the bloody hell is a drek?

Oh, and getting a mortgage and paying council tax.

Never been a fan of clubbing myself, I always found it rather awkward. The music, the atmosphere, the prices, the loudness of it all.

Much prefer a pub at times or a bar.

I've also started to lose hair some five years ago and that was a shock. I've not gone bald, but it's just not the amount it used to be.

Also, grey hair has started to show up about two years ago. There hasn't been more, but that was another shocker when I first noticed.

Other symptoms of aging?

- Getting dodgy knees (trying to walk up the stairs can be a right pain in the arse at times, I'm alright at the moment though).

- Getting drowsy at around 3, 4pm in the afternoon on a more or less regular basis and feeling like taking a nap is the best option.

- Not feeling like going out at all, because you've been there, done that. And knowing that the music's getting shittier by the year.

- Discovering Whisky.

- Thinking about your childhood and what you used to do a lot.

I nap after school almost every day. I think I'd die if I didn't. If I have two frees in a row, sometimes I even nap in school. I also nap before going out on a Saturday night.

I'm 17.

I make groaning noises when I sit down and get up again. I also have a dodgy lower back as well and I'm only 32 in 17 days. Feel about 62 though.

When you are nearing 62 you won't feel 62. In fact you will wish you did feel 62.

For a couple of years now I've thought pubs and bars are better than clubs. That's not to say I won't go clubs at all, but would choose the option to go pubs and bars more often. I'm 21! That's not old or depressing :D.

as beening born in the 60s you no when you get old when you can't stand drum and base and you can't go out at night wearing light coloured trousers becuase of dribling when you go for a piss and when you can't watch match of the day because its past your bed time

And to add, I've point blank refused to go out on a Friday for a good few months now because it's the end of a long week and I don't think I could physically cope. I don't even watch Friday night tv that often because I'd rather go to bed.

There is one major difference now to 10 years ago with regards clubs vs bars and pubs, bars and pubs are open much later now, when I was a teen I only ever went to clubs because I wanted to continue drinking, who wants to go home at 11 on a Friday when you are just peaking. The amount of times I went to shitty clubs just to continue the night. Some clubs are good but the majority are just loud shitty and the same music. Give me a night talking shit with mates any time.

I also miss acts of wanton mental deterioration to rhythmic beats, followed by chasing the fear away with pints of courage. To be young again.

I've only recently turned 27!!! I can't wait until FoxyJr is old enough for us him to leave him overnight so MsFoxy and I can hit the clubs in matching hotpants.

 Even I know what drek means, and I'm way older than you. Perhaps the kids I teach are just more obnoxious. :dunno::whistle:

Oh, and aching legs / ankles make me feel old. :( And I think some of my highlights are actually grey hairs starting to appear.

Please tell me what a drek is, it's driving me mad.

I heard someone at breaktime saying 'David's a right drek.' So I asked what a drek was and the response, 'If you want to know what a drek is Sir, look at David.'

So the only knowledge I have of a drek is that David apparently is one.

* Names changed to protect identities. Apparently a drek is a terrible thing to be.

Can I just one up you there with 18 and never heard drek or sket?

Oh, also my ridiculously crap joints. That's more terrible fitness routines than age mind.
