And, in an interview with SportMail, Howard explained: “I wasn’t enjoying my football at Leicester. I wasn’t allowed to go on loan and I just wanted to play.

“There were false promises and that was frustrating.

Read that.. We needed him off the bench & he wasn't good enough to start, surely he can see that?

Good read. He was never going to start every week, but he was a decent impact sub, would always try and offered something else. But if he wanted first team football, then fair play to him, I hope he does well at Hartlepool.

Three offers from Championship clubs as well!

At least he still gave it his all even if he wasnt enjoying it, cant really ask for more than that. Didnt throw his dummy out the pram so respect

Have that you shithouses.

Great memory, I hadn't seen the stadium full like that and bouncing before.

We all Leeds we all hate Leeds.

Dirty northern bastards.

I think the next time we played them it was a dreadfull 1 - 1 draw, or maybe even a 0 - 1 defeat, this all seems such a long time ago, thank you for posting.

Fond memories.

This image is the basis of the image in my sign off, which can only be seen if you are on a laptop, PC or iPad.  So actually I'm wasting my time talking about it as you are all on your phones.  Never mind, carry on...

That hat trick at the Hawthorns was amazing. In all my visits to West Brom, nothing compared to that game, which came during a horrible season as well.

What a journey we've been on

lol

I have a pretty good record at the Hawthorns. Only seen us lose there once or twice.

I thought that Howard hattrick was as good as it would get there but not. The Vardy winner was unreal scenes.

Stevie Howard the hero though. One of my favourite players. Always gave his all.

Fond memories of that game! As others have said it was some atmosphere that day, the likes of which we are now used to but not then.

I remember thinking I was ready to go away from that game lording it as the greatest 0-0 I’d ever seen... and then that header! First time I can remember the stadium shaking lol

Remember that game, as I recall a young Fabian Delph ran the show playing left midfield!  Was with an undercover Leeds fan in the Leicester end and we mobbed him when Howard netted! Unbelievable scenes!

I thought this had been bumped as he's now playing for our under 23's. Great player though

Crap player in the grand scheme of things.

Some fond memories though.

Gives me nightmares seeing threads like Sean st ledger and Steve Howard

Didn't do it for me.Used jump for flick on's miss then slap his thigh like it was someone else's fault.

His scoring record in the championship is appalling.
