I love Lithfow too. Is brilliant at both comedy as well as drama.

I have no problem with them casting a black guy as Snape, but then don't claim in all your media statements that it'll be a "faithful adaptation" of the books.

Snape is a fictitious character and the Harry Potter series is not a documentary (unlike Adolescence). Up to the producers what they do with it, doesn't bother me as I'm not a fan.

However, race swapping the portrayal of real historical characters should be avoided, imo, as seen in the last Wolf Hall series. It does nothing for accuracy, if that is the producers aim given the sets, scripts and period costumes.

The Tudors were PoC (Welsh)

Reunion on BBC iplayer, excellent emotive revenge drama set in the deaf community.  Some outstanding acting by the leads and it really conveys the isolation and frustration of what it must be like to be hard of hearing.

Mourinho on how to win the European cup  on bbc iplayer.

Some dont like him but I think he is up there as one of the all time great managers.

Considering  he was just a translator and never played the game like Wenger, he really is a special one.

Harry Potter show casting:

John Lithgow as Professor Dumbledore

Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall

Papa Essediou as Professor Snape

Luke Thallon as Professor Quirrell

Nick Frost as Hagrid

Paul Whitehouse as Filch

Harry-Potter-Cast-John-Lithgow-Janet-McT

Thallon is primarily a theatre actor and only has a couple of screened credits; McTeer has been around for years on TV, film and theatre.

Paapa Essediou will attract the most opprobrium as it’s a race swap which will actually change the context of the story (James Potter’s bullying); he’s been a rising star for a few years now and I think he’ll smash it.

Lithgow is just Lithgow. ****ing brilliant in everything he’s in. Despite being an American I think he’ll be brilliant as Dumbledore. He was brilliant as Churchill.

I knew about Frost as Hagrid a few weeks ago but Whitehouse came as a nice surprise. Both are absolutely perfect for their roles IMO.

Good casting so far. Would ****ing LOVE them to cast Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes as Arthur and Molly Weasley though both have been involved in Potter before. (Pegg in the Hogwarts game and Hynes as a voice in one of the films, I forget which). If they get Edgar Wright to direct an episode my head might explode.

Saw Thallon as Hamlet at the RSC a few months ago and he was outstanding so no worries there.

Played the nervous and self doubting aspects of the role perfectly which will align nicely to his role in this.

Quota filling is what it is.

People of Carmarthenshire

Henry VII had more English ancestry than Welsh. At that time, Wales was part of England and had been since Edward I (and legally before that). 4 of the 5 Tudor Monarchs were born and raised in England and had no ties to Wales.

Don't stop me blaming the Welsh for the Tudors

Bit late to the party, but Adolescence was stunning. The story, the acting, the filming was so good. It's so relatable in most aspects and I feel it does a good job of showing how many factors there are and how difficult it is to navigate as an adolescent and an adult. So many poignant moments that really hit home.

Hugged my sleeping son a few times after I finished the series.

Excellent piece of cinema.

Wenger really didn't have much of a playing career either, as he started off in the amateur leagues and then played a dozen times for the mighty Strasbourg. 😂

Mourinho is now just a parody of himself.

Last One Laughing was brilliant.

They’ll do a season two but I wondered what other comedians you’d need to put in to top it. The concept is great in that it’s so simple really.

Half a days filming and it’s one of Amazons most watched shows so far this year in the UK.

They could in theory knock one of these out every month! It’s that simple and it’s nice easy TV viewing.

I noticed they have a US and Irish version as well, so I might watch those.

Tried watching most of the other versions and they all stink in comparison to the UK version. Americans/Candians aren't funny so I didnt expect much from that version but the Irish 1 was really poor

Really liked this latest season of Black Mirror.

Tough to pick a favourite, but I definitely enjoyed returning to the USS Callister, especially since the first one was my introduction to the series.

Common people for me, very sad but very funny in equal measure.

Have heard Bob Mortimer is going in for Celeb Traitors. Will be an all-time classic of so!

That might be the only time I'll watch this rubbish.

Just finished Dexter: original sin and I thought it was superb, I was a bit apprehensive as I loved the original series and didn't mind the the New Bloody series.

But this was brilliant a very good prequel that is casted superbly.

Definitely worth a watch.

How do you know it's rubbish if you haven't watched it.....

I have. That's how I know and also why I don't anymore.

Maybe I should have said "that might be the only time I'll watch this rubbish again".

"Legion" (originally on FX) is surprisingly good for a superhero TV series with a limited budget (albeit there are some SFX involved).

Imagine making the most insane superhero – a telepath with telekinetic powers who happens to be schizophrenic – your protagonist. lol

I want Seasons 2 and 3 on Blu-ray so bad, unfortunately there seem to be only pirated copies made in China available.
