Let's have a TV shows thread.

After the glowing praise on here with some (like Matt P) almost going orgasmic and the high rating on IMDB I finally got around to starting to watch Sopranos.

I found the pilot episode very slow and the follow up more of a comedy than a crime drama. Can someone please tell me that it is going to get much better. I've suffered through these first two episodes and hope that's not going to continue.

It's so bad that my wife is actually enjoying it.

You might be the sort of person who wouldn't enjoy it tbh. Most will though, like 21st says, it's a television masterpiece.

For those who've never seen it, Parks & Recreations starts tonight 10pm BBC4.

You have to see it if just for one of the greatest TV character ever created... Ron Swanson.

Plus one of my favourite bits...

Worth watching just for Swanson, what a man, though the first series isn't the greatest.

I reckon you'll like it. It's a bit like Community, in that it starts off more structured in the first season but then gets a bit "zanier"... in a good way.

A bit "The Officeish" but it had some good laughs in it.

Just started watching this new series that's started. Good first episode and about to watch episode 2.

Snap.

Looking forward to the future episodes based on the plan Ragnar is sorting out.

Apparently the actor who plays his brother grew up in Melton Mowbray.

Properly hooked on this now. Really good historical drama with a few obvious creative licenses taken and a some really nice attention to detail.

watched the first episode of Spartacus after reading good reviews.

Soft porn like the first few episodes of GoT and like boardwalk empire. Ridiculous blood scenes a little like a 60's batman kapow. No story line at all until the final few minutes of the episode. Weak, weak dialogue and excruciatingly "Old British" accents for both the Romans and Thracians.

I was hoping for something watchable - it wasn't. Does it become good , quickly or is it a series aimed at young men who need wanking material?

Anyone watched Strike Back who would like to give an opinion/recomendation?

I enjoyed it FIF. I don't remember much of the first series but Project Dawn & Vengeance(i think) were decent.

Good sunday night tv.

Was watching banged up abroad last night and 2 lads from Leicester we're on there lol absolute shitole of a prison im addicted to this program

Watched that on YouTube the other night. Proper leicester boys they were. Thick as ****.

Have you seen the one where the guy from Swindon knocks up a married fillipino chick and proceeds to get chased around the country being shot at by corrupted policemen? That's my favourite. That guy was heroic.

Brilliant.

Watched the first two episodes of Lie To Me.

Not the greatest piece of American television. It's all a bit too formulaic, I've seen the concept somewhere else before and done a million times better (House, for instance).

It revolves around one particularly erratic "hero" with one special ability, surrounded by almost equally talented assistants.

Cliché-ridden and with a slightly far-fetched premise.
