Guest BlueBrett Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 how many forwards do people think we need?! Nuge, Beckford, Vardy, Schlupp, Waghorn (Hopper and Paney....). Surely ample.
Captain... Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 A man hug and a pat on the buttock for all of them as they leave, excpet Chamberlain, he will get a polite nod of recognition, well done to the other lads though you have all played your part in banishing from memory Holloway and that day in May.
Daggers Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Cannot believe anyone is upset at seeing Vassell go, an injury prone, expensive 32 year old who best days are long gone, why on earth would you give him a new deal? He obviously isn't as much of a 'risk' as Vardy is to some people.
Legend_in_blue Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Vassell was ok but I'm not fussed. Tricks, pace and stepovers still didn't get past the majority of defenders in this league.
Mr Happy Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Logan will never leave. EVER Been here for, what 11 years i think and made 30ish appearances (please correct me as i fear one or both of them stats is wrong)
Guest MattP Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 He obviously isn't as much of a 'risk' as Vardy is to some people. Vardy is everything Leicester fans don't want. Young, exciting, fast, risk-taker, goalscorer. He had better learn to be able to pick up the ball 40 yards from goal and amble his way to the corner flag whilst performing numerous step-overs and feints to be appreciated by our lot.
jamesmilner Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Vassell must be to do with wages. Real shame, I think he still had a lot to offer. one thing as a striker he didnt offer was goals . must be something to do with that i'd say !
Fox92 Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Wanted to keep Vassell, at least for another season, but I'm not too fussed about the other players.
Saxondale Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Sad about Vassell but, presumably, his wage desires were more than Pearson would be prepared to offer to a player who he doesn't see as playing a big part in next season.
Jaspa Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Well, Darius probably mostly came to help Sven out in truth I mentioned when he got injured it could potentially be career threatening, and it probably will turn out to be now, unless he goes abroad. I liked him here and he gave us a few decent memories ( Hull Away, Notts Home ) But now we have space for another winger/striker
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Dissapointed to see Vassell go. A word for Chris Weale as well. For a while he was a good 'keeper for us.
Guest shearfox Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 glad Vassell has gone no doubt he was on silly money wages, never impressed me at all. Surprised to see him released, but I think that is the reason he hasn't had his contract renewed...
buzzy Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Excellent news, none of these players are capable of being in a side in the top two. Cannot believe anyone is upset at seeing Vassell go, an injury prone, expensive 32 year old who best days are long gone, why on earth would you give him a new deal? i thought we finished 9th or have you had a wet dream that we finished in the top 2
Happy Fox Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Not surprising we knew all about their departures anyway, the likelihood of Vassell being offered a contract was very slim anyway due to being injured and not showing NP what he can do. We need at least two wingers to sign, otherwise we are in for a tough season again.
Guest MattP Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 i thought we finished 9th or have you had a wet dream that we finished in the top 2 What? What's your point? We should sign him on and try and finish 9th again?
Guest shearfox Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 i thought we finished 9th or have you had a wet dream that we finished in the top 2 We did but he means that top 2 is where we are aiming so keeping hold of mid table players isn't going to achieve that...
acooling08 Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 I think Vassell's wages wre probably very high, so best to get rid.
Kitchandro Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Excellent news, none of these players are capable of being in a side in the top two. Cannot believe anyone is upset at seeing Vassell go, an injury prone, expensive 32 year old who best days are long gone, why on earth would you give him a new deal? Agreed. You know times are bad when people are disappointed that Vassell has gone. We need to be aiming higher.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 I reckon a fair bit has been saved on the wage bill, good news!
Salieri Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Can't argue with that list, Pearson knows what he's doing.
dannythefox Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 Happy with this Vassells done nothing so we wont miss him.
Ozwin Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 I've played too much FM, once players hit 30 I always subconsciously know that I have to get rid before it's too late so Vassell is no surprise to me.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 18 May 2012 Posted 18 May 2012 The king is dead..............NP's blueprint carries on, all the best to the released players, however life moves on and it looks to be moving in the right direction
