It's just been one of those days for Red Bull "Plastic" Salzburg:

Losing out against a bunch of Luxembourger amateurs. Fantastic - vive le foot!

Those ' Luxembourger amateurs ' looked damn good

I dont know what would be worse, your team moving to Milton Keynes and resembling nothing of your beloved team, or being bought out by an energy drink and completely rebranded

Edit : Also, the Red Bulls won :S

But ultimately lost out due to the away goals rule. ;)

I think the latter would be worse, the club still being there in body but absolutely nothing of the club you loved in spirit would remain.

Good result this, disgraceful what Red Bull did with one of Austria's proudest clubs.

It's a disgrace what Red Bull have done with Salzburg, same goes for the experiment in Leipzig (where they had to rebrand the team from "Red Bull Leipzig" to "RasenBallsport Leipzig" due to sponsoring restrictions issued by the German football authorities) and the Red Bulls of New York (sorry Jordan - I hope the Cosmos come to life soon, then you'll have a proper football team to support).

Mateschitz, the Red Bull owner, has been throwing money around like a madman in the past five, six years. Especially RB Salzburg has been nothing but an utter disappointment financially. A few domestic titles - but that's it. The side fails on the European stage on a regular basis, players and managers alike come and go in one of the most entertaining merry-go-rounds in European club football ever seen.

The fans can't tell one scandal from another, don't know what starting eleven to expect week in, week out. There's also been issues with police and stewarding at games (restrictions come and go), resulting in an apathic following who are slowly, but steadily losing trust and hope. Their large plastic bowl, albeit impressive as a 30'000 seater, is welcoming about 8'000 visitors per game and the tendency is pointing downwards.

They've even signed Gérard Houillier as their main football mastermind (called "Global Sports Director"), delegating transfers and player recommendations from his base in Paris. lol

The most entertaining football in Austria is played on the second and third level.

I, for my part, wish Red Bull all the worst in the world when it comes to their involvement in football. They can rot in hell with their type of sports investment, because billions and rebranded football clubs don't buy you success or a loyal fanbase (as we all know all too well).

Normally Rangers or Celtic who lose to that sort of team.

Draw tomorrow at 16.45 I think.

As if you can get a group with the champions of Spain, England, Italy and Germany in, and yet clown sides like Braga and Anderlecht make it into pots 2 and 3.

Coefficient system is a joke.

Anyone know what time the draw starts? I know coverage is at 4.45 but I know they do a lot of waffle before hand so want to skip all that and get straight to the draw!

Fúcking hell this is all really pointless. Why do we draw teams and then groups? Why not just the first team drawn is in group A, second team in B etc?

Massive result for Scottish football.

It can't be underestimated.

The SPL will have next to no profile internationally for the next three years at least, so Scottish clubs are only going to grow by doing well in Europe.

Hoping Celtic do well this season.

That's the last think I'd call Man City!!

Haha :D

Ajax in there too, another very tough group for City. United, Chelsea and Arsenal all looking on getting it easy so far.

Bloody hell, Madrid, City, Ajax and Dortmund all in one group. An actual Champions League, with a group full of Champions from last year. Frightening.
