Corky Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Great chance to progress. Hopefully they'll make the tickets cheap and try to get in as many as possible.
Collymore Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Apparently we still play at the walkers stadium! Sky clearly have no knowledge of any club below the premier league How are they deciding who is at home and away? Dont get this draw Isn't there some seeding system so half the draw will be drawn before?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Great chance to progress. Hopefully they'll make the tickets cheap and try to get in as many as possible. This hopefully
glenny_fox Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 One of the better draws we could of hoped for. Should be able to progress easily enough, and no long travelling which is always a bonus.
steveherbe Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Wind up, draw is saturday! - Isn't it? Obviously not, try and keep up Steve!
Corky Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Will it be soon? Does anyone know any dates? 28th or 29th.
Bert Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Pleased with this. Should see us safely through. Games played W/C August 27.
Happy Fox Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 if the tickets are cheap £5-10 the crowd may be biggish, I don't know what Burton's away support is like, but I imagine Dierby County supporters probably have Burton Albion as their second team if they live in Burton so I imagine they will come in their numbers
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Good tie, Would like to see kids for a quid with £10 - £15 per adult ticket.
Jace Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Will be a reserve selection for this fixture I bet so the lower the better, its been too long since we were last League Cup Champions
foxesfan1989 Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Easier draw on paper than last night. No travelling. Hopefully cheap tickets. Pleased with that draw!
Finnegan Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Ugh. Hope we play a young / second string side. If we're making a serious bid for top four, people can't seriously want a cup run? Especially not in the league cup...
artursteppe Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 I work in Burton. A bloke here ( Burton season ticket holder ) has been praying for a home draw against us. Just hope I'm still laughing after the match. I think I will be. I'm commiserating with him now.

Especially not in the league cup... If we're going to go out, let's go out to a better team than us. Just don't think a home defeat to a side two divisions below us would be a positive.

Especially not in the league cup... Can't agree. League is priority obviously, everyone thinks that. But if our players are fit enough the odd extra game here and there will be fine to cope with. Plus if we do rotate slightly our bench is pretty damn strong. I don't want us embarrassing ourselves with youth players like Cardiff did yesterday though.

Especially not in the league cup... Burnley got to the Semi-Final of the League Cup the year they won promotion to the Premier League. A good cup run can be a positive, certainly it's a lot better for the team to have a good cup run than to get knocked out at home to Burton Albion.
Jonesy038 Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Burton fan here, pleased with this draw. Good night out for us and I daresay it will not be 'easy' for you. Sheff United thought the same thing at the weekend at Bramall Lane (and they did play their full 1st team). Sure you should win the tie but if you put out kids or reserves I'd fancy our chances more often than not. Looking forward to it.

I don't want us embarrassing ourselves with youth players like Cardiff did yesterday though. We have a lot of strength and everyone will need games, the second string midfield and frontline is awesome, we have enough young defenders too that will enjoy a run out. As for Cardiff I thought they had 9 players out with international duty, so can't really blame them. Why do Burton have to play away? Is it for all league cup matches or just because of scheduling?
