If 5million is seriously on the table it has to be taken.

He has shown nothing to suggest he is worth that amount of money yet.

I wouldn't take £5 million, we are short of defensive cover.

Pretty sure we could get a prem quality centre back in on loan/perm in Jan for a small chunk of that.

Well he could only go in Jan for Starters, so I'm sure we could buy a few for that money.

Even though his contract is out at the end of the season, we'd still get a comp sum at a tribunal because he's under 24

That's often been just a few hundred grand, didn't we get Gareth Williams from forest for about £350K much to their disgust and I thought I'd read under this new development process it's even less now.

Even if he signs a deal tomorrow... That doesnt forbid clubs making offers on him in January.

Doesn't stop them but a player on a 3-4 year contract is worth a lot more than a player with a year or less. Unless his name is Matt Mills.

I strongly think unless the lad says he doesn't want to play for us and wants to leave then we should reject the proverbial bids. We don't need the money, regardless if its £5m, we should be looking to build a team for the future not selling our potential future stars to clubs where he will rarely make the bench.

This kids agent is smart and has media contacts - fair play to him.

He'll have a new house, car and contract with golden handshake before November.

Maybe he could afford an English tutor with enough money?

To be fair to him, you only get a 140 character limit on tweets.
