Prem eyes on Foxes starlet

I know that he is highly rated by Manchester United and they are seriously interested in him as a long term centre back majority of my family live in Manchester and are life long United fans and my Uncle knows lots of sources at their club. Also for what it's worth Liam is actually a United fan not a Leicester fan as some people have mentioned him to be. I've been told that Pearson felt he would be able to tie Liam down to a new contract before the big guns came sniffing but we are actually now in a very vulnerable position in terms of a potential fee if Liam decides to leave and he could conceivably leave for a margin of what he's worth or worse play out the season and leave for a compensation fee at the end of the season.

If he goes we will have money to buy that defensive midfielder that Babylon desperately wants.

That Danish guy at the Euro's, Niki Zimling would be good.

Quality name.

Surely it would make more sense for him to stay here? I'm sure james, drinky or delaet would tell him that.

Why? Because they're former United players with less play time or because they are all capable of covering as a CB but don't want to?

There are ridiculous figures being thrown about in here but fair play, if Wolves are getting £11mil for Jarvis, Crewe getting £4mil for someone who's never played at even League One level, then of course we should try and rip them off, the market's a shambles but don't let ourselves get conned, every fvcker's throwing money around.

Not that I'd sell him but we don't actually need to sell, I wouldn't listen to anything under £3mil.

I stress again, I'm not saying he's worth that, I just think it's a highly inflated market where fees are going mad.

Liam Moore would Bébé in his pocket during Manchester United reserves training matches, no doubt.

If he is, he was very good at hiding it.. seeing as he used to come to the park in his city shirt alot.

Exactly, based on first team experience he isn't even worth £1m but the market value of young British players is ridiculous. £2.5-£3m plus all sorts of add ons and loan him back for the season lol

He's in the last year of his contract and has made less than 10 senior appearances for us. There is no way we'll get that amount. The fact is that if Man Utd wanted him, Liam Moore himself would be crazy not to go there so whatever they bid, we would accept as it would be pointless trying to stand in his way. I would guess that the max they would bid is £1m cash or £500k + a fringe player.

I'm pretty sure Chris Smalling had made 0 appearances when Man Utd came in and paid £8-10m... could be wrong but I always thought that he'd never played when they paid out. So seeing as our Liam has already eclipsed that tally, he's surely worth £15m+ in today's market. Make it happen Nige. :pearson:

Don't think anything will happen in this transfer window - he'll then be offered an improved contract and his agent is well satisfied with his work in securing Moore a better deal. There are better young players out there at the moment and the likes of Man U don't need to take a chance on an unproven Championship player.

He'd played 10 or 11 times for Fulham the previous season.

This won't happen, especially to Manchester United, he is a good defender but he's only played a handful of games and he was playing for a league two side last season. Whether this is agent talk to get Liam a big new contract i don't know, but what i do know is that he is not on the same level as Smalling and Jones that United acquired at a young age. Moore will be good for us in the championship and maybe one day the lower end of premiership, but he doesn't strike me as a top for premiership defender. As someone had said we would have easily took 250k for him a couple of weeks ago, and i'm sure once Ledge and Whitbread are fully fit Moore won't be starting anymore, in this case all the prem talk will lie down, he'll probably get another couple of games for us but no way will he play every match like he has been doing.

I reckon this is just pure speculation, but if it's true, as it stands he has little in the way of time left on his contract so I would suggest we get him back on a 2 year loan and then man utd pay us every time he plays for them after this time, that way if he is a success at man utd in a few years time, we get an income from him, if man utd don't rate him after letting him develop we are in pole position to take him back.

I happened to be sitting next to Ken Way our sport psychologist on the train and apparently he thinks and the squad thinks its just the agent trying to get Liam a new and improved contract.

Can't believe some people are actually talking about this as if it will happen. They may well be watching him but you can't base a defenders future potential on 3 games in the championship.
