lestajigs Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 We must must must must have a replacement lined up, surely
TrentFox Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 We must must must must have a replacement lined up, surely Can't help thinking the replacement has already played a few games for us and got a couple of goals to his name.
FourtyFour Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 we should have really gone for nicky maynard. absolute goal machine. michael owen anyone?
FrankieADZ Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 It's on sky sports now (Ticker) Beckford to join Huddersfield on loan. ive not seen it...as of yet
FourtyFour Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 it says on sky that he's moved down the pecking order at leicester. that's not entirely true. typical sky
Babylon Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 What's the odds on Becks and DJ Campbell firing Huddersfield to promotion while we languish in 9th place...... Who cares? If players can't perform here (and it wasn't just under Pearson) then sod them. Keep the players that perform for you, get rid of the ones that don't. It's simple logic.
Fox 4 Life Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 it says on sky that he's moved down the pecking order at leicester. that's not entirely true. typical sky Nuge and Vardy looked like a better partnership in one game than Becks/Vardy and Becks/Nugent did so its also not entirely false!

Keep the players that perform for you, get rid of the ones that don't. It's simple logic. Not saying I care, I think it's time for Beckford to go, just like DJ he couldn't do it for us. Just often the way that players leave here and excel elsewhere , once again could be for a team that is challenging us for a playoff spot.
Ric Flair Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 I've heard a rumour that we're after that Nigerian striker who was at Middlesboro last season, Bart Ogbeche or something. Goal scoring record is patchy at best.
FourtyFour Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 we'll probably get some former man utd youth chap.
Number 6 Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Perfect replacement for Becks then? Would have liked Maynard to come in as he was available on the cheap. Think Baldock could have been worth a go too. Think we have a better striker set up than last year though, and more scoring midfielders.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Our best striker leaves on loan to a Championship rival, nice one Pearson. Don't worry lads, we've probably lined up Matty Fryatt!
Happy Fox Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 I've heard a rumour that we're after that Nigerian striker who was at Middlesboro last season, Bart Ogbeche or something. Goal scoring record is patchy at best. No better than Beckford.

Just often the way that players leave here and excel elsewhere , once again could be for a team that is challenging us for a playoff spot. How many times has it actually happened though? People act like it's all the time but other than Gradel and Campbell I can't think of many.
Fox 4 Life Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Our best striker leaves on loan to a Championship rival, nice one Pearson. Don't worry lads, we've probably lined up Matty Fryatt! How on earth can you say he is our best striker? He has looked average at best for us. Not saying he isn't a good player, just doesn't fit in here.
THE MAGICIAN Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 I've heard a rumour that we're after that Nigerian striker who was at Middlesboro last season, Bart Ogbeche or something. Goal scoring record is patchy at best. This is true, along with Beckford going to West Ham, this is what i'm hearing
Big Dave Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Who cares? If players can't perform here (and it wasn't just under Pearson) then sod them. Keep the players that perform for you, get rid of the ones that don't. It's simple logic. We will be getting rid of Waggy then!
Petchy Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Connor Wickham supposedly available on loan - option?
sdb Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 He doesn't need replacing!! He doesn't do a lot as it is and we're striker heavy too so what exactly needs replacing?! Shame it's a loan but if it's the only way of getting a disruptive player out of the club then so be it. Let's get Waggy, Gally and SSL out too and then we're laughing if we get in 2 decent players.
Fox 4 Life Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 How many times has it actually happened though? People act like it's all the time but other than Gradel and Campbell I can't think of many. You are right it isn't all the time but those have been good examples and even the thought of helping out another rival annoys me. I guess the cost/benefit of sending him off outweighs keeping him so it is the right decision. He has just never done it for us unfortunately.
Oadby Fox Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 we should have really gone for nicky maynard. absolute goal machine. michael owen anyone? I'm with you on that one, Michael Owen would be a good signing.
Babylon Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 Our best striker leaves on loan to a Championship rival, nice one Pearson. Don't worry lads, we've probably lined up Matty Fryatt! A) David Nugent is out best Striker, he proved that last year by scoring goals in this league, which Jermain failed to do very often. B) Fryatt Outscored Beckford and Nugent last year in this league.
Steve Agnew Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 I think this in an ominous sign of the direct long ball tactics we are going to be employing. After seeing him on Tuesday, I can say Futacs is dog poo. The more time he spends on the pitch the more I will think about asking for a refund on my season ticket. Its so frustrating to watch. If I wanted to watch rugby I'd go to the successful rugby club around the corner.
Babylon Posted 31 August 2012 Posted 31 August 2012 We will be getting rid of Waggy then! At some point maybe. But I still don't believe he has really had a chance since his first loan. He needs a loan away to sort himself and for us to look at him properly. When was the last time he started two games in a row upfront for us? I think this in an ominous sign of the direct long ball tactics we are going to be employing. Have you watched any of our league games so far??? Long ball we aint.
